Only thing of worth would be Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 Steelcase Edition but I could care less about the game. My local store has a bunch in stock though.

so is it the GTA V Special Edition or the GS exclusive CE to watch for?  No Special Editions available around me but a few CE's.  Also how long are in-store holds valid for?  24 or 48 hours?

48 hours but if it is getting converted best to go sooner than later or even call if you're a regular. Also they may not go through come the morning since there will no longer be any new copies technically.

I believe the new versions will become unavailable on their site at approximately midnight CST when it updates. As far as Muramasa it just says Muramasa Rebirth on his list which is the normal game.

 
The Sniper steelbook is pretty tempting. I'm going to have to attempt to pick that one up I think.

I'm pretty bummed that I used my GTA SE DLC code already. I didn't even take advantage of it. I guess it was nice that it replenished the special move quicker, but I honestly hardly ever ran out of the special except driving during the first couple hours of the campaign.

j/k, periodically Gamestop converts older new games into used games & sells them for the used price. They also do this with special / collector's editions of games - but a lot of stores will throw out the CE stuff (or employees take it, whichever) so it's hit or miss if you can snag a complete set when the price drops.

hmm guess I was right about GTA 5 CE.

Also, I had like 8 copies of ZOE HD LE/4 copies of Tales of Xillia CE for PS3 around me last night, and I only have 1/none now, dont know if that's a conversion or not. Guess I'll go and check today.

This would explain why the store called me last night after I put the hold in on a GTA CE asking me when I was coming to pick it up. I fount it strange since they never did that before would be great if someone could confirm if converted
 
Does convert to used mean it will ring as the regular GTAV price? If so, that may have happened... Just called a local GameStop looking for the CE and he said it's not even something they carry anymore, out of his system. Converting to the normal GTAV used price would explain that

Guy said, "yeah, sure. let me check the price for you... " (which I didn't ask)

"..hmmm it's not coming up, but I see it up there .. let me put you on hold and check.."

Then he came back and said "..yeah, we got that I'll hold it for you.."; but never confirmed the price.

So I'm guessing he saw what it was.

I called a few GS stores and they said the same thing that it is not in-stock anymore. The employee told me that they don't sell the CE used, just the game from the CE.

Damn, is it even worth it trying to have these shipped to my local store? Nearest ones are 20 miles away and that's assuming they didn't throw them away or already sell it.

 
Grrr, I tried to put a GTA V CE on hold last night & it came back saying they couldn't find it.  So I actually drove over to the store and they claimed they didn't have either the PS3 or 360 versions that the online inventory tracker said they had, that it was a mistake.

So either it was actually screwed up, or they knew they were getting converted & grabbed them for themselves.  I'm putting my money on #2.  :whistle2:|

 
Employees say both did get converted and than say they don't have it so we know what's going on there. Looks like most employees either already have it or it was sold by now. Not surprising seeing as it's $70 off.

While sometimes employees buy the CE's for themselves, you have to remember that for the rest of the time they are actually just doing their job and not actually just keeping it for themselves. Their instructions are to break up the CE and add the game to their preowned stock and save on the space it was taking up.

For example, when NBA 2K13 was converted last time, my main store had already broke up the Dynasty Edition by the time they saw my online hold request. When I came in the next day for a different reason, the employee brought it up to me without me even mentioning it (they're familiar enough with me to recognize my name on hold requests). They know I'll sometimes pick up some converted CE's but not when they've been gutted. By the time everybody saw that list on here yesterday, remember that employees already received the same email hours earlier. Of course, I'll never know for sure if the employee was just bullshitting me and keeping it for himself but NBA basketball games become useless when they shut down their online servers (which by that time was the case since 2K14 was already out). So in all likelihood, they actually threw out the CE contents in the garbage. Cue the dumpster diving thread.

Don't get me wrong, I know they are. But I use to work for Gamestop and know how these things went on at the 3 nearest stores to mine.

But most of the time it is them just doing their job. Other times, its exactly what many CAGs experience.

Also, we (at least when I worked there) don't get a list of conversations. You know by checking yourself. Why I think the guy got it for himself is b/c of that. He said it was converted (which means it was either in the store and he checked or someone told him) and than said they don't have it. Could be nothing but my experience of seeing fellow co-workers doing the same makes me believe not.

Yeah one time I nabbed a converted GoW: Ultimate Edition and when I finished the transaction my cashier mumbled, "Damn I would have bought that if I had known."

For some reason I had the biggest shit grin on my face.
