This is probably one of the coolest videos of all time. Punk band ANTiSEEN (and big wrestling fans)
At first I read that as Anti Steen.

That was nice of Del Wilkes to come out of retirement and team up with Rey Mysterio tonight on Raw. Classy guy.

And if someone wants to elevate themselves from good to great in my book, all they have to do is squash Brodus Clay. Add Cesaro to that list.
This is probably one of the coolest videos of all time. Punk band ANTiSEEN (and big wrestling fans) playing "Exploding Barbedwire Deathmatch" in front of a bunch of little kids on chic a go go.. These dudes just released an all wrestling album with songs dedicated to Terry Funk, Cactus Jack, Freebirds Badstreet USA cover, and a song called Invader 1 must die, which is about the guy who killed Bruiser Brody in Puerto Rico.
As far as I can tell, "Invader #1 Must Die" was originally done by Cocknoose - I have a 7" of theirs that's at least 15 years old with that track on it (A-side is Badtreet USA). That said, ANTiSEEN's wrestling album (while very good) are almost all songs that have been previously released.

But they're a great band anyway, so I totally recommend it. Great video, too, thanks for sharing - though that's totally lip-synced.

Until he screwed up his finisher...twice, no less...I was actually digging Ryback vs. Tensai. Those two were really teeing off on each other. Wish the WWE would do more stiff, strongman-style matches.

Also, brownie points to J.R. for the Stan Hansen Lariot reference.

Their match on Friday was better. Not great by any means, but a little more competitive and Ryback didn't fuck up his finisher. Or if he did it was edited out.
Their match on Friday was better. Not great by any means, but a little more competitive and Ryback didn't fuck up his finisher. Or if he did it was edited out.
That had to be a sight to behold, especially after how much trouble he had doing that move tonight.

---

Time for the WWE to crap on J.R. again.

I get they are pushing for the Ryback/Punk thing, but I really think they should have taken the chance to have Cole step in and take a beating for JR to complete his transformation into a regular announcer.

On Smackdown it looked like he hooked the head and leg tighter so Tensai couldn't fall off. I'm surprised he didn't fuck up his back completely trying to pull him up from the side like he did the 2nd time tonight.

Either way it made Cesaro killing off the dinosaurs all the more impressive.

I'm pretty sure Tensai sandbagged both attempts. As we saw on Smackdown, Ryback can pick up Tensai. Tensai wasn't even in the right position for the suplex lift. I was damn impressed with Cesaro being able to pick up Brodus. My jaw literally dropped.

Also, semi off-topic, but I just found out that Stone Cold has me blocked on Twitter. I have no idea why either. I'd been following him before, but ventured to his profile only to notice I wasn't following him anymore. I click follow and get hit with the message that I can't follow him because I'm being blocked. The fuck? I don't think I ever even tweeted the guy.

Do any of you guys have problems watching videos on WWE.com? I've tried to watch the JR stuff they posted but no player pops up. A Google search shows others have had this problem but I haven't found a solution. I'm using Firefox.

Raw thoughts -

IT'S JIM ROSS APPRECIATION NIGHT!

Pre-show vid focuses on RYBACK'S PATH OF DESTRUCTION - great, that should mean that they're planning to push him to the moon all night. Love the Punk-Foley recap vid too. I don't quite get Foley's logic in Punk beating an injured guy in a cell to prove he's the best in the world though. Punk's promo was quite good, but goddamn is Heyman better than him. He is SOOOO slimy, but awesome. Then Vickie came out and dramatically downgraded the greatness by being a shrill heel. Heyman talking about Dolph made me think that he should manage him. He'd help him out a lot, and probably tell him to stop wearing knock-off Converse.I dig the new "Stealing the show and your girlfriend" shirt. It's very bright and stands out nicely. Heyman wants to get her out of the position due to her slap, but the board gave her a coach - DANIEL BRYAN! He ranted, this thing went on for TWENTY MINUTES. Kane calling AJ the PHENOMENAL...kisser was great. And then AJ was all shrill and annoying.Twenty minutes to get to Punk and Dolph versus Team Hell No. Goddamn. Then to further ratings death, they announced a VERBAL DEBATE between Show and Sheamus. That's not what I wanted after seeing Show kill dudes all week. At least there's Rey/Cara against the Colons.

Love the new matching red, white, and blue gear for Rey and Sin Cara along with each guy taking part of their partner's mask design. Tag tourney continues on WWE Main Event - great use of that show since it sort of makes it Superstars, but slightly more important due to its main event right now. Things were mostly fine except for Epico not going out of the ring on a headscissors properly until the PTPs came out and killed the pace of the match dead. They came back from the break and thankfully didn't have the PTPs get involved - they just stayed in their chairs until the pretty good fast-ish paced match ended with a dive off the top by Mistico leading to the splash from Rey to win it. OH THANK CHRIST, Twitter and Tout will be used to determined the questions for the debate. Question 1 - Show, can you please stop talking and punch someone? Question 2 - Are either of you in the Aces in Eights?

Brodus came out, he's facing Claudio. Claudio won quickly after a middle rope springboard European uppercut and actually hit the Neutralizer on him. Holy shit - they couldn't have handled this 'feud' any better. JR put him over like a million bucks for doing that. If Striker was there, he'd be talking about how he MARKED OUT BRO! This was the most impressive match for Antonio yet. AJ introduced Kaitlyn's boobs to her coach - Christopher Stevenson, who is not Daniel Bryan. And then she went all mental and was a bitch to Kaitlyn. They showed a JR graphic and Cole said that there would be people here to talk about J.R. I'm fearing an appearance from Dr. Hiney.

They buried TUF with a Did You Know deal. Miz came out with a new shirt. It sucks. Deju Vu. They talked about Larry King being the social media ambassador. #SheamusShow is the #1 trend worldwide. Amazing. J.R. impersonating Larry King was something. The commentary was more noteworthy than the match. Miz destroyed Ryder to build to Ryder bing on the Main Event. Booker came out for the great debate as the top of the hour segment. Oh lord. I expect ratings death for this since these things are almost never good and are at best, amusing for all the wrong reasons. Show came out in a suit, while Sheamus came out in his gear. Booker said that they were going to open this with opening statements...as opposed to closing ones I guess. Show said this thing was idiotic, that he'd kick Sheamus' ass, and got cheered for it. Sheamus said lame jokes, and then Booker said it was time to start the debate. Thomas Roscoe asked a question, and Sheamus mocked Show for having BO. Show said he was A HYGIENIC GIANT AND SMELLED FABULOUS! Booker fucking up everything and Show being wacky ruled. Sheamus took to Tout dressed as Rey Mysteri O'Sullivan. Ugh. Show was great, Booker was amusing, and Sheamus was impossible to take seriously, but this was way better than I expected it to be. Ryback killing or saying something is up NEXT!

He's gonna get to kill Tensai again. Should be fun. Holy fuck. He tried the samoan drop TWICE, couldn't do it, dropped him like a sack of shit the second time and got him with the lariant. JR tried to save it, but this was not what Ryback needed for week 1 of his mega-push on live TV. That was a mighty fine trainwreck though. The Rhodes Scholars talked about the debate, and Sandow buried Sheamus for not wearing "a stitch of formalwear" or even PANTS. That ruled. The Mizerable Christmas ad was nice - good to see them go all-out for Mick. I guess he's agreed to do some PR for Linda. WWE congratulated themselves for being so amazing, and showed some breast cancer survivors in the crowd. Eve's facing Beth to blow off their angle from SD. They said that Kaitlyn might be back next week, so I'm not sure why she was in her gear earlier. Eve beat Beth with the Goldberg-style swinging neckbreaker to send Beth packing. There was nothing memorable about this except for the Eve Has a Great Garden sign. Loved Barrett knocking AJ - maybe it'll lead to her putting him in major matches to spite him.

They hyped up JBL doing the mountain climb up Kilamanjaro, and really made him seem like a great guy. He'll be back next week - YAY. He's looking slim, too. Slater and Santino had a match that killed the crowd. Santino had him beat, and then the job squad beat him down. Loved Drew hitting the Future Shock after a 1,2,3 setup. Then they said their catchphrases. Apparently, Jinder and Drew had one. I'm not quite sure what this was, but I was entertained by it. Sandow's facing Sheamus. Well, that explains why he was in his gear...although he would've had like 40 minutes to change anyway.

Two weeks after plugging Subway, they had an ad burying Subway and burying Subway's meat. Well, it isn't exactly the greatest. Sheamus dared to try and punch the honorable Mr. Sandow, and even attempted to attack his mighty beard. Loved Cody distracting Sheamus leading to an over the barricade lariat from Sandow. It looked really smooth and made him seem like a more diverse act than usual. This dragged at points, but was great at making Sandow look like a legit star who could hang with the world champion. Loved Sandow breaking out the cobra clutch here. Sandow tried to win with a Shannon Moore-style neckbreaker, but only got 2. Sheamus tried to win the battering ram off the top, but also only got 2. Sheamus won after throwing Cody in, hitting them both with the kick, and covering Sandow. Well, that finish was...something. It was silly, but I guess made Sheamus look stronger, although in doing so, it hurt the tag division. J.R. put Sandow over so strong that I don't think the loss will hurt him at all. Next, it's J.R. appreciation night.

WWE'S NETWORK OF FACEBOOK PAGES GROWS BY 75,000 EVERY DAY! Cole called J.R. THE VOICE OF WWE. JR came out while a guy with a Sooner wagon hat cheered. Punk interrupted before J.R. could speak. The fans actually booed Cole being bullied by Punk, so I guess either Punk's turn is working or they accept Cole now. Loved Punk's interplay with J.R. Crowd was huge into J.R. - more than I expected. Loved the hat stomp since it reminded me of King's crown getting stomped in Memphis. Punk was a tremendous asshole here. Loved Ryback coming out to defend the honor of J.R. and prevent him from leaving. Ryback with JR as his mouthpiece could work. The Feed Me More chants were huge, and whether they were piped in or not, on TV, it made Ryback come off like a huge star. This was the best way to get Ryback over in a short way - botchiness before aside. They did nothing to build up Sheamus-Punk, but set up whatever they're doing with these two well. Then they had a really corny Komen video. AND WE'RE ONLY TWO MONTHS AWAY FROM WWE'S MOST IMPORTANT SHOW - TRIBUTE TO THE SHOW. WWE IS THE GREATEST COMPANY EVER!

They showed Alberto destroying Orton after SD, and Ricardo came out and was honored to do commentary with Cole - his burial of J.R. was amusing. Ricardo saying that Alberto is at a disadvantage due to Truth and Little Jimmy ruled. JR hyping up Cokey was amusing. AJ had an angry meeting with her coach while the commentary kept rolling. JR apologized for that and then Team Hell No came out. I completely forgot about their match. Dolph's new shirt is amazing. AJ came out as ref in her shorts and tiny shirt. YES! Vintage AJ cutenes! They went to two breaks within a few minutes of action, resulting in the match basically starting at 11.Loved JR saying AJ was getting down in very nice positions for her counts. Shockingly, Bryan and Punk were awesome together while they were in the ring.AJ's silly Converse boots rule. Dolph Flair floppinig into a tag to Punk was great. Bryan hit a sweet super butterfly suplex into the NO Lock. Punk must've made it his mission to help Bryan get back into the singles main event scene once the tag deal ends. Tonight, he regained whatever credibility he's lost with his current storyline. AJ ejected the managers, which led to Dolph leaving Punk just like he left them, and Kane pinned Punk with the chokeslam. Show ended with the tag champs arguing. That match was way better than I expected it to be.

They did an actual JR appreciation segment after Raw ended with Vince, HHH, Bill Watts, and Danny Hodge (and eventually everyone from the back). I'm sure it'll pop up somewhere soon.

Man, Raw was hella bad last night. I read reports that there was a great segment b/w Punk and JR, but two things:

1) the first 60-90 minutes was fucking excruciating.
2) i kinda wish someone would time how much talkie-talk-talk time Punk gets on the typical 3-hour show. Just to satisfy my curiosity, and to laugh to myself about how people don't consider him to be as self-aggrandizing as Triple H during his prime.
3) Sheamus is fucking awwwwwful on the mic, his persona is that of a first grader (thanks, Grantland), and his ring work isn't that impressive.
4) Ryback stinks almost as bad as his music, and his music is almost as bad as his catch phrase.

That all said, this is a pretty fascinating article: http://www.wwe.com/classics/paul-heyman-guys

I'm not sold on it yet, thought I am hella impressed with how much character Young and O'Neil are showing now, given how bland they were on NXT. Time really helped them.

I had it on mute, but from what I saw Damien Sandow had a solid and surprisingly long TV match with Sheamus. Is this accurate?

Also, from the dirt sheets:
PWInsider reports that staff member Ann Russo-Gordon left WWE this week. This is significant news because she was in charge of the entire Wellness Policy on WWE's side. No word yet on why she left but the belief is that she quit. Russo-Gordon handles everything to do with the Wellness Policy including working with former talents who were going into WWE sponsored rehab.

Something tells me she was only a step above Jack Tunney and Gorilla Monsoon in terms of authority.

Ann: "So, Randy Orton didn't pass his third Wellness evaluation. And Sheamus has yet to submit to an evaluation. I am doing the paperwork to suspend and fine Sheamus, processing the release of Orton."
WWE: "No."
Ann: "What do you mean 'no'? Well, according to guidelines, they should—"
WWE: "Mary— Can we call you 'Mary'?"
Ann: "My name is Ann."
WWE: "Mary, you are to not speak of this to anyone. Do you understand?"
Ann: "I am simply doing my job."
WWE: "Mary, this leaks out, and we will expose your affair with Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly, and release the sex tape."
Ann: "What affair? What sex tape? What the hell are you talking about!"
WWE: "There will be a tape if this leaks out. Understand? Also: Resign."
Ann: "..."

Seems like they are still adding guests but the wrestling related lineup for New York Comic Con so far is Kelly Kelly, Bella Twins, Beautiful People, Vader, Jim Duggan, Kevin Nash and Booker T.

Unfortunately I won't get the chance for Maryse and her agent to try to sell me porn. :D

Prefer to spend most of my money in the artist alley at NYCC but might pick up Booker's book to get signed if it isn't too expensive. Saving my autograph money for Christopher Lloyd :D

I wonder if Kelly Kelly's agent charged them $10,000 for the appearance.

Rob Feinstein of RF Video, who coordinates wrestler appearances at trade shows, posted a lengthy blog on his Facebook page detailing his recent negotiations for the former Kelly Kelly, Barbie Blank, to appear at next month's "Legends of the Ring" convention in Monroe, New Jersey. The former Diva's agent verbally agreed to a deal six weeks ago, but it fell through Friday after Feinstein was informed that her asking price to appear at independent events had increased to $10,000.

Feinstein writes, "I make it a rule to NEVER bury anyone in the wrestling business publicly if a deal goes wrong. Well in this case I want to inform anybody who might be a fan of Barbie Banks (FKA Kelly Kelly) on how her manager conducts business. To say I am pissed is a understatement. This is no way reflect Barbie Banks FKA Kelly Kelly.

"About 6 weeks ago we struck a verbal deal to bring her into Legends of the Ring. We were told by her manger that she was going to be able to do outside projects while she was still under WWE contract. It really made no sense but she told me that she was in the progress of getting her a new deal that would allow this. She told me that we had a done deal and we agreed on terms. We just never signed a deal because she wanted to wait until she got a new contract which I was told would be a week.

"A week went by and than I was told that because of the holiday labor day I would have to wait another week. When that week passed I was told that Barbie had to do something personal and we would have to wait another week to see if she was medically cleared to make it to our show. To me that is when things got fishy. I informed her manager that two weeks ago you told me we had a deal and we were just waiting for the paper work to go thru. Now things seemed fishy. Well later that week I was informed that she was not going to be able to make it because WWE at the time was not giving her another contract. Honestly none of this made sense to me but I thought that maybe it was true because I have heard she was trying to get a new deal to do outside projects.

"So after 3 weeks or so of being put on hold finally her agent told me the deal was dead and we would have to wait until March to book her. We left everything on great terms even though I was pissed for being put thru the windmill for 3 weeks.

"I went out and booked Shane Helms instead which is great.

"On Friday I get a call from her agent again out of the blue asking me if its to late to book Kelly for Legends of the Ring and now she was able to do it. I told her I only had two weeks now to promote this and I wanted a better rate. I also had to talk to the promoter of Legends of the Ring and get his approval since I once already told him I had her and than had to tell him I lost her. I called up James who is always professional and told him that I could get her again and that I would feel more comfortable if he talked to her agent with me to confirm everything.

"We had a three way call and we came to terms on money, the times and everything. All we needed to do was sign off on the deal. She than asked me for the address of the venue and the times and everything you would put into a contract. I told her I would sign it as soon as I looked it over and we agreed on the phone I would be able to announce this today.

"A hour after we talked I was informed by the agent that someone called with in the hour that we struck our deal and offered Kelly more money that weekend for another event. She than basically tried to hold me up for more money asking well cant I match the deal and I told her no way we already verbally comitted to a deal.

"The professional thing to do here was to tell the other party you already stuck a deal for that date and you would work with them in the future. That is how you conduct proper business in wrestling. A deal is a deal and especially in this business you stick to your word.

"She than told me she had to talk to Barbie and she would call me back. Well with in 4 minutes I got a text no call…..just a text saying that she talked to Barbie and that Barbie decided to go with the other guy. It was obvious she never talked to her as many people in that circle told me that it was so wrong to do. I also want to point out that I had given her at least 10 other dates at the time. For the record her asking price is 10k a shot…you do the match….We had alot of money on the table over the next 7 months with her.

"I informed James of the situation and to say he was not happy was a understatement. James texted her and tried to get her to call him but she refused saying that we never had a deal which was a total lie.

"We had a deal, we agreed and everything was set. Like I said in wrestling when you verbally committ and tell someone your drawing up a contract its a deal. I told her agent that I have worked with everyone from the Rock which I had at my store before, to every big name in the business and that this was a first. Of course she did not reply and I just wanted to let everyone know that because of this the fans of her will not be getting to meet her at the upcoming legends convention.

"I will never work with her agent again unless she gives us the proper apology and does business the right way.

"I never like to work with agents in wrestling for this reason. They do not understand the wrestling business and usually end up costing their clients money, in this case ALOT of money.

"I was not going to pay her full price because we had a deal set because of all the dates but now that is all off the table. So if you book her beware of what your getting yourself into.

"Again this does not reflect on Barbie just the person taking her bookings."

This week's WWE RAW drew a 2.5 cable rating, with an average of 3,502,000 viewers.

The first hour drew 3,436,000 viewers, the second hour had 3,598,000 viewers and the third and final hour drew 3,472,000 viewers. This was the lowest non-holiday RAW rating in 15 years.

Heh, wow.

I was just going to query about this. Glad you cleared it up.

Yeah, the RF thing baffles me. I know ROH cut ties with him immediately, but he must pay really well, because a lot of supposedly upstanding people are more than willing to do business with that piece of shit child predator.

Heck, it's even a shame beyond that because he fucking sucks as an interviewer as well. The Kayfabe Commentary guys put out stuff that is always significantly more well produced.

Hopefully the Raw rating keeps dropping, I tuned in at 7 and had to sit and watch that horrible promo with Punk/AJ/Bryan/Ziggler that lasted OVER 30 minutes. Then I changed it to the Bears/Cowboys game. If it keeps dropping maybe they will try something new and get an edge back. The whole thing at the end where Bryan was saying I'm the tag team champion, then Punk is going I'm the world champion and Ziggler going I'm the money in the bank and then AJ starting to scream was soooo bad. It was like a scene from some live action kids show my son would watch on Nick. Then again WWE is basically G rated for kids now, not sure why adults even watch anymore.

The list of things edited from Raw on Hulu this week is a long one

* The first half of Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio vs. Epico & Primo

* Brodus Clay vs. Antonio Cesaro

* Big Show and Sheamus debate

* Tensai vs. Ryback

* Backstage segment with Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes

* Eve Torres vs. Beth Phoenix

* Backstage segment with AJ Lee, her coach and Wade Barrett

* Michael Cole and Jim Ross talking about JBL's Mt. Kilimanjaro climb

* Santino Marella vs. Heath Slater

* Alberto Del Rio's entrance for his match

In fairness, though, the ratings generally tend to hit their lowest non-holiday levels when Cena isn't there. We can hate him all we want, but let's not forget there's a reason he's the focal point.

The real issue is that, yes, WWE will gives us extra Cena and not see the bigger picture problem of them still not having a Cena successor. Orton's a lost cause, Sheamus is mediocre, Punk doesn't appeal to the Cena crowd in the same way, and they've basically buried everyone else. I hope it's a wake-up call, but I know it won't be. Cena is down for less than a month... god forbid, but what happens if he gets grievously injured? What does WWE do then? That's the scary part, knowing there's no contingency plan.

They've got the talent to carry a company, but they've all been booked so poorly that they struggle to do so. Plus, in the interest of pleasing Cena fans, the three guys that could step up (Punk, Bryan, Ziggler) are hamstrung by the fact that the fans that would boost them to the company-carrying level simply aren't watching anymore.

It's a problem without a solution right now. Which is, frankly, why I've stopped watching entirely. WWE '13 is really going to be my only real WWE exposure this year. If WWE changes, I'll be back... but I'm not holding my breath on that being anytime soon.

Cena in 2012 is pretty much Hogan in '93, nearing the end of his run with no real successor. Hope everyone is ready for the return of Knuckleball Schwartz.

As someone who wants to see WWE sweat (if not fail), I welcome the day when an injury forces John Cena to retire and WWE shits themselves for realizing that they have put all of their eggs in one basket. (Ya gotta diversify your methods of income, yo.)

However, The Miz could be WWE's next big face if they let him. How funny it is to type out those words, huh? The way wrasslin works is weird.

LOL. Too much WWE, and I had a day off from work this week so I lost track of what day is what haha. Shame we are getting main event on ION and not NXT.

Rib tape or bust.
DDP sticks out like a sore thumb in an Attitude-era DLC pack. Is he the only "WCW" guy in the game?
I might consider buying WWE 13 if they add heel turn, mid-1990s Chris Jericho (with Ralphus), Scott Hall and Kevin Nash in WCW debut attire (jean vest, stripe shirt), and Dean Malenko in Ciclope attire.

And Bunkhouse Buck in Bunkhouse Buck attire and Jack Swagger, Sr. attire.
