Yeah, that'll work.
I'm sure there will be TONS of online competition after most people move to MvC3 (like it or not, people *will* move). There will be nobody left to watch card

ing (because "spectator mode just wasn't technically possible") in a lobby or wait 23 minutes to find a ranked match.
The long and short of it is that Capcom released a product and essentially are now selling a new superior "sequel" to it at retail less than 9 months after the first came out. That's a dick move, no matter if you want the game or not.
I guarantee you there will be plenty of people still playing vanilla.
I'm not saying that I would prefer this to happen with every game, but you already bought and played for a game. You were given the service you paid for. Not happy with the way the online worked in vanilla? Should've looked into it before you purchased it.
Also, it is 9 months instead of a year like most sequels, but with them only charging $40, I think this is forgivable. Call of Duty / Madden / Battlefield etc... that re-hash the same shit over and over charge $60 every year.
The true long and short of it is this.... if you don't think it is worth your money, don't buy it. It's not worth getting butthurt over.
This is the Internet. People hate everything.
By the way, is Dead Island worth picking up?
I don't think so, it's hella boring and has weak combat.
