The - PERSONA 3 / PERSONA 3 FES - Thread! (FES OUT NOW! $30!)
So getting S-Links in FES are easier?
In the FAQ Atlus released, they said it requires less points to gain S-Link levels.
Is it possible to kill the Grim Reaper than follow you around if you get one of those poison cards?
It is possible, but you have to be a very high level. At least that's how it was in the original.
Is it possible to kill the Grim Reaper than follow you around if you get one of those poison cards?
It is, but it's not easy. Infact that is one of Elizibeth's last requests. They way I did it is with a spell called Armageddon with a guaranteed 9.999 points of damage. Trouble is it's a fusion spell between two of the most powerful Persona (Lucifer & Satan) and it takes all your SP away. You won't be able to do it until the end of the game.

There may be another way, but this is how I did it with the least resistance.
Wow, that's fucking obnoxious. Just started the 2nd semester and I'm afraid I won't be able to get all the S-Links I missed the first time through the game.
Since I was trying to max Yuko my first time, I avoided the rest of the girls. So now I need to do: Mitsuru, Yuka, Fuuka, Aigis, Bebe, and the annoying kid who's always playing doctor. Can I do this all in 4 months?
***I'm going by doublejump schedule. It might be a little off due to Fes.

October, November, December, January

(4 Months*31 days in month)-1 less day in november= +123 days
6 characters*10 social links= 60 social link days

12 =sundays in one month*4 months
04 October exam week
04 November school trips
04 December exam week
04 full moon
04 Carrer Experience
01 Labor Day Holiday
01 Culture Day Holiday
01 Coming of Age day Holiday
01 Opening Ceremony Holiday
01 Closing Ceremony Holiday
06 Christmas Holiday
06 Exam Period
06 Exam Period
-----
65 event days

123-65 days=58 free school days

58 free school days/ 60social link days

My math could be a little off, but you might be off by two or three characters short. Most likely two if played correctly. I'm not sure all the holidays/events are there along with the consideration you can meet a certain character in certain days and Saturday's you can only meet one girl. Not to mention, you have to factor the jealousy thing with girls and you have to choose the right choices with right Arcana.

You can inherit the skill spell master or equip Rudra Ring to cut the cost in half.

In The Answer mode, I beat Death by equipping all my allies with elemental nul rings according their corresponding weakness. This way death will can't take advantage of press turn or waste a turn removing elemental protection. I also equip 3 high critical weapons for my allies and select knockdown tactics to increase the possibility of all attack. My hero just keep spamming heal spells every turn.

I have no strategy for Grim Reaper on The Journey in Hard mode. The freakin Grim Reaper does over 650+ damage with Megodion. It much easier to Armageddon it.

I did the same thing. Plus I had the ablity to get all my HP & SP back after each fight, I forgot the name of it. It actually made the game boring.

Yep, Armageddon is broken spell already and when you combo it with Victory Cry(i forgot the name as well, I used the doublejump guide as reference) there's no point of using any other spell.

Quick question, sorry if asked before.

I bought the Persona 3 guide at Gamestop when the price dropped but now learned about FES and got Persona 3 FES. Will the regular Persona 3 guide work for the main quest (obviously won't work for the FES part) or has so much changed that I need a new guide?

It'll be a good outline, but you'll find more things to do in FES.

Make sure you use gamefaqs or something for things like test answers, they definitely changed (I actually looked up one or two things on wikipedia through the general topic).

Otherwise, I would say it's more fun without a guide since you can't do everything in one playthrough anyway (at least I assume not)

I don't get it. My first time through P3, I maxed 12 S-links, including the ones you can't miss. Now it looks like I'll end up with like 6 maxed this time through
It'll be a good outline, but you'll find more things to do in FES.
That's what I'm using it for as well. It's missing alot of stuff new stuff (Quests, S-Links, Personas, etc) but since there's no FES guide this works as a simple walkthrough and boss strategies. Gamefaqs can fill in the holes, I'm sure they have something up by now.

I'm also putting the consideration that you have default zero with those slink. If have some slink levels with those characters then day requirements are much less. Don't forget the new slink, Aeon.

It not hard to get max 12 slink in this game consider there are 22 of them. The girls are really the main concern since you have to get max out charm/academics/courage for 3 girls, can visit them on school days and jealousy. Aeon and Empress are easy to level up if you pick the correct choices with the right Arcana.

You can do alot better then 6 max slinks. The Arcana Fool, Judgement and Death are automatic. You can at least do devil and tower during night period. That leaves a whole flock of slinks to level up

1. Fool
2. Magician
3. Priestess
4. Empress
5. Emperor
6. Hierophant
7. Lover
8. Chariot
9. Justice
10. Hermit
11. Fortune
12. Strength
13. Hanged Man
14. Death
15. Temperance
16. Devil
17. Tower
18. Star
19. Moon
20. Sun
21. Judgement
22. Aeon
Does walking Koro-chan count as an S-link. And if not what does it do?
Korochan doesn't count as S-Link. All it does is either- build relationship with slink partner or small dialog sequence or korochan gets a new item when your alone with him.

If you walk him alone he gives you items. Sometimes you meet other S-links while on a walk. If you walk him with another SEES member, you seem to get nothing.

I'm on the cusp of maxing the Priestess/Fuuka S-link, I've got Yukari waiting at Lv 4, and have yet to start Mitsuru. I assume Aeon is easy to do in the last month, and I don't care too much about Fortune. So maybe I can fit everything in. Midterms :whee:

ayo I'm on floor 214 of Tartarus when I had 23 days left until the next full moon.

that's skillz!! that's how jekki roll beeyotch!!

mother freakin Mitsuru came back, she's like 10 levels behind everybody now

Crap, I can't spam the lottery thing in FES. It seems that time passes now. I hate it. :bomb: Are my character skills suppose to be less than the regular Persona 3?

So I guess if you've maxed out all your night-time S-Links & and your academics then Koro-chan is the only choice (besides Tartarus) Seems to be good for all those "new game +" people.

Has anyone been paying attention to the "Who's Who" segment on the TV some nights? Since they are all described as being in their 20's, and I think P3 takes place 10 years after the other games, I get the feeling they're describing characters from older Persona games, but I don't know enough to recognize them.

The first one I noticed was talking about a guy with a yellow cap, which is this guy
Rev_mark.JPG

The rest I've noticed since:

- someone who's brother is a policeman
- character who is sour faced, scar on forehead hidden with hair
- girl w/ original, short hairstyle, studied overseas, fluent English, intelligent, beautiful
- man proud of his amazing intelligence, #1 design on all his clothing

Any big SMT fans out there that can identify these people?

They guy above is Mark and as you can tell he changed drasticlly from the Japanese to the American version. He was a punk kid but not a bad person. Here's who I think the rest are:

- someone who's brother is a policeman
Sounds liike Tatsuya fron P2. He was pretty much the central focus in both halves of P2 along with Maya. His older brother is Katsuya who is a homicide investigator, he's also playable

- character who is sour faced, scar on forehead hidden with hair
Chris, was the hardest to get of all the optional characters in P1. He was the loner/badass and related to the final villian "Guido." He also makes an apperance in P2 as a NPC. He had a big scar in the shape of an "X" on his forehead.

- girl w/ original, short hairstyle, studied overseas, fluent English, intelligent, beautiful
Ellen, She was in both P1 & P2 as a playble character. Your description pretty much sums her up

- man proud of his amazing intelligence, #1 design on all his clothing
Hmmm, possibly Brad from P1 who was another optional character. I never picked him but I remember him being an arrogant punk. In P2 he made his NPC appearance as talent on a TV show or something. I can't exactly remember what his profession was.

It's not skillz, I often had more days left till the next moon when I reached the max floor for the month. I generally just liked to get the dungeons over with.
It's not skillz, I often had more days left till the next moon when I reached the max floor for the month. I generally just liked to get the dungeons over with.
Ditto. I would go to the highest available floor of the dungeon the first day it became available after the full moon.

The only time I went back to Tartarus after that was IF I missed any of Elizabeth's requests.
It's not skillz, I often had more days left till the next moon when I reached the max floor for the month. I generally just liked to get the dungeons over with.
whatchu talking about willis?!?!?!

I could ascend to the top floor of the dungeon with negative two million days until the next full moon and it would still be skillz.

that's how I do it!! Perskillzna 3 beeyotch!!
They guy above is Mark and as you can tell he changed drasticlly from the Japanese to the American version.
Yeah Mark is the only character I recognized, and I know what Atlus USA did to him. Thanks for your list, I'll try to post the rest as I come across them. Unless anyone else has put these together.

Haven't seen a list yet. I'm here if you need me. I love the the older Persona games.

I was getting to the top floor the first time I entered but then I met the table on 135... I guess I need to level up Junpei a bit... I even made a persona with mediarama and resistance to fire but then it used megidola twice in a row and I was gone (even with my mediarama between them)

I used about 5 Bead Chains beating that boss since I didn't have Mediarama. Marakukaja helped too.

I finally beat it by buying one of those hp +30% accessories, using all of my bead chains (instead of mediarama), a bunch of magic mirrors, and various other objects...
Is there a good FES guide to follow for The Journey?

I want to see all the new stuff.
Kouli's guide on the ORIGINAL Persona 3 FAQ page on Gamefaqs, NOT the FAQ page for FES.

I hate that all the shrine events now make time pass. Does this means that it is much harder to improve the academic, charm and courage than the regular version?
I hate that all the shrine events now make time pass. Does this means that it is much harder to improve the academic, charm and courage than the regular version?
Just Academic, since that's all the shrine ever improved.

In the second semester though, I've found that you can get a free Academic point per day
in the teacher's lounge, or whatever it's called. So pretty much replaces the shrine. I think the school nurse does something too.
Didn't realize that I couldn't start the Mitsuru S-link until so late, hopefully I can squeeze in Yukari quickly.

If you're tired or sick, school nurse will give you a drink that gives you courage.

I'm eating at the Wild-duck burger place for courage. You'd think after trying the mystery meat a few times you wouldn't get any more courage, but I guess the meat they serve looks worse and worse each time so it takes more and more courage to try it!

whooooo!!!

so in case u do not kno...

in the 'director cut' version of P3, new ending segments appear when you have maxed out an S Link

so if u dont wanna play thru the game but wanna see them, they've jus been added onto youtube!!
