We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.
Note: Only the retail games listed above can be registered through Steam. No other retail games can be registered and downloaded using Steam.

How long's it take to get the Defcon and The Polynomial achievements?
 
Sweet, I was hoping Avadon would be a daily. Definitely grabbing that. On the fence on Divinity 2. Securom doesn't make me happy.
 
50% off coupon for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood... not too shabby. Its the best coupon I've gotten so far, but alas I do not want the game.

Avadon looks like a worthwhile buy too.

As for achievements, I only have DEFCON and I guess the ROI one is worth trying for too.

Haven't done the Defcon one yet, but the Polynomial one should take you all of 1 minute. Maybe 2. It took me like 5-10, on my laptop, because I was running the wrong graphics card, and had a 3 FPS framerate.

Nope, same price as it has been to my knowledge ($9.99). I'm still hoping it goes up as a daily since it has a winter achievement.
 
Defcon can be a little frustrating but is easily doable. Polynomial one is super easy. For my efforts I got 2 more coal. Oh well.

Same here. Avadon was on my radar at $4.99 during this week-long holiday sale. But for $2.49 I'm def gonna snag it. I'll probably get Limbo as well.

And if you don't have it yet, Torchlight is a steal at that price!

I know I never mentioned Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem is harder to me than this game.

Avadon has great writing, a terrific and creative battle system that has lots of customization, and some endearing and interesting characters. The story grabbed me and didn't let me go. :D

Nope. You can't register the game on Steam, sadly. I tried everything.

It was available in the Humble Introversion Bundle, if you purchased that.

Torchlight is a great game for $3.74. It's a dungeon-crawler in the same vein as Diablo, and you'll probably spend at least 40 hours on it.

Torchlight is probably the best Diablo clone in recent years. Diablo 3 is stealing a lot of ideas from it.

Yeah, I saw some weird auctions on eBay. This one was for, like, a German copy or something of Skyrim. And every time you played you had to log onto something to indicate you were in that region? Something like that. I dunno. All I know is I ran away from that auction.

Absolutly love torch light. Highly moddable!

The only problem is it lacks co-op. It's at it's roots Diablo-esqu

Anywho, for 3.74 I'd say you won't be dissapointed.

bioware sells the dlc through their own store and it has gone on sale exactly one time, sort of. origin had bioware points on sale (50%) a couple of months ago that could then be used to buy the dlc from bioware's site. IT IS A GREAT SYSTEM THAT IS GAMER-FRIENDLY.

For the PC they are only available via the Bioware ME2 store bought using Bioware Points. The DLCs should be compatible with the steam version.
 
I don't want to say that today's deals are crap (because they are not) but it really seems to me like a case of "same old, same old"

Except for "Blur" which I don't remember being cheap before on steam.... and I don't need it because I already own a physical copy. *hum*

yes, the RU versions of Skyrim required you to use a russian vpn to activate and to play. It was fine before the first patch but then they borked it. It was kinda funny really. Buying from ebay for games is always a bit sketchy but i havn't been burnt yet as long as you are educated and know that if it looks to good to be true...

Defcon took me about 10 minutes, I've never played the game before so that's partially why.
 
Lol so I just did the Defcon Achievement to nuke Santa and because I been a bad person this year for nuking Santa, I got a 33% off A Game of Thrones. :lol:

Even coal is too good for me for Nuking Santa it seems, lol.

Polynomial Achievement takes 5 minutes tops. Defcon takes 5 minutes.

How to do DEFCON one
Start a game with one AI player on your team.
When the game starts put radar's to discover your enemies whole map.
Evenly space out your Silos.
Fast forward to Defcon 1 and fire away at Santa.
 
For you Cell Phone Users: here's the Cheeves for the day.

Rise of Immortals
Supporter - Get 10 assists in a match.

The Polynomial - Space of the music
Sore throat - Eat too many (more than 10) snowflakes within game life. Snowflakes will be present in Christmas level when its Christmas.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
Sector Cleared - Successfully complete a Space Marine Exterminatus Arena (Kalkys Facility Escape or Hab Center Assault).

For anyone wanting the Rise of Immortals achievement, I would wait a bit. Currently their server is getting hammered and you most likely will not be able to register.

Glad I tried the demo before buying it. Found the demo to be really boring, and it's definitely not better than Fire Emblem.

It's no Fire Emblem. That was a joke.

I like turn-based RPGs enormously, so it was an insta-buy for me. I adored the demo. After trying it, I made myself wait a couple weeks, trying to withstand the urge to buy the game at MSRP. But I couldn't make it. Bought it for $9.99 and played the crap out of it.
