Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V6! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

With the V6 Thread, we're trying a slight formatting change. We used to list every possible Steam deal in the OP, but they change too frequently for anyone to keep up with (even in the Wiki format). So now, we'll leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Winter sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.


Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Finally was able to complete my order, being a new Gamersgate member did not help at all. Activating Dishonored now and am very pleased.
 
OMG it took 2 hours, but my payment finally went through to GamersGate. But as with everyone else it's gonna be a long while until I can get my keys.

Did you have the Paypal issue where it kept saying check with merchant? What did you do for that?
 
For others who got the order through: I don't think we're at risk of missing out on the steam keys. Don't quote me on it but with persistence I'm slowly but surely getting each key. I'd say it's safe to leave it until tomorrow but I may as well continue refreshing the page every now and then.

No. Mostly I was stuck at the initial checking out stage (and before that, the registering bit that took forever). But oddly enough once I got passed that (I didn't try for the code though, I didn't want to fly that close to the sun, lolol) after f5ing for about 2000 times, everything else went pretty smoothly.

I'm not even going to try to redeem the codes for now, GG is a warzone. But paypal receipt got through, and I'm happy enough as it is. Will redeem later, but I'm on cloud 9. :D

I kind of want to play The Sims 3, but that "includes software that collects data for in game advertising" makes me uncomfortable. I just don't feel like I can trust EA.

I've been wanting to get back into the Sims for ages. I'm tempted to grab it, but I think I can hold out longer.
 
Alright, so Sims 3 and its DLC is 66% off for the most part. What are the odds of it being 75% in a daily later on? Chances are higher if I buy it now, I'm sure.

1% chance. Sims franchise has NEVER hit 75% (I've been eyeing it since it first became available on Steam). It has been 66% a handful of times; it received a 50% discount during the Summer Sale.

If anyone is going to give away a Dishonored key, let me know. I'll actually give you some money for it.

I keep seeing these really lousy flash deals and it makes me sad. I was hoping Steam would use the slots for older games like SW: Republic Commando so that they don't take up dailies. But why are games like Sims 3 and software there? Steam, what happened to Gabe and who is in charge now?
 
So what is a mod going to do when they see a quarter of this Steam thread is devoted to GamersGate? Well, at least we're getting Steam keys... ;)
 
So, I was able to purchase the pack and I even have the games in my account now but Paypal always looking for my interest (sarcasm aside) reversed the payment and reimbursed me the money.

Waiting to hear from them or even GG, I don't want to get marked for fraud or something like that.
 
The Bioshock vote is still pissing me off. Who would seriously vote for that? I missed out on 75% off Vice City for that :(

EDIT: Anyone have a spare Bethesda collection they are looking to offload? Price? Trade? A portion of the collection maybe?
 
I bought it as a gift some hours ago but I just can't manage to gift it to my email. Should I just gift it later or there's a risk involved?

I was wondering the same thing. Its been in my wishlist for a while now. So very tempted at 75%. It is the only thing in this sale far that I have wanted to buy.

Also saw some people wanting to vote for SpaceChem so I guess I will since none of them interest me...

And this thread is way to frantic to keep up with!
