I started doing it before it was cool. Who plays me?!

Rocksmith is a great deal for those with the Real Tone cable from another system and a guitar.  Since I have neither, I'll likely pass on this.

Also - Rocksmith 2014 is coming in October.

Total Rocksmith DLC cost: $659.30.

Definitely getting the Nickelback 3-song pack. Never heard of any of this other stuff. Any recommendations?

edit: ;)

It'll probably start on July 11th. There aren't any new releases after July 9th until July 23rd.
Except Toki Tori 2 which comes out on the 11th. But again - there have been releases in all of the main sales events for the last two years.

I would recommend Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun which is one of the greatest songs of all time. I own this DLC and don't even have Rocksmith, that's how good it is.

I would also recommend Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son since everyone who is learning to play guitar should learn how to play this song.

Hm yeah.. don't know how I missed Toki Tori 2. Anywhere within that date range is probably when the summer sale sale will start though.

Thanks for that. I think GWAR would agree with you on Kansas:

My suggestion is anything but Nickelback
Yeah, the Nickelback part was a joke. Guess I should add a winky face or something.

Kinda glad there's no steam sale today. Just got a $1400 check for selling a car. It should really go to bills.

......or save it till the sale...

I'd think one dead giveaway in predicting the sale is that you wouldn't see weekly deals announced.  I mean, I suppose it's possibly there could be a four-day overlap when the big sale starts on a Thursday but it would be a bit odd.

I'm gonna be the odd guy out and say that I intend on getting a Level 1 badge for almost every game I own, except for my favorites, which I plan to get a Level 5 for.

While TF2 will be easy to get... Ugly Baby and Zombie Driver HD won't. Ugh.

Anyone else notice how odd the description is for the newly released Legends of Dawn???

I've heard better ramblings from outsourced tech support. Their grammar is terrible too.

In addition to all those remarkable features already mentioned, you are bound to notice another cool thing about Legends of Dawn. The absence of loading screen. It would have been so much easier to create a game that would constantly force you to wait before the screen while new contents load, but Dreamatrix is aware that your time is too valuable to waste.
I feel like I need to go take a shower.

The day of the $10+ foil is gone. Hell the day of the $5+ foil is probably gone. Even COH2 cards are under $1 with most foils under $10 and that's a brand new 'AAA' game that hasn't had anything other than a preorder discount. At this point I'm not going to bother with meta-gaming. If a game I want has cards, great, I can play/idle for a few GabeN Bux. If it's a game I don't want... not going to bother with it.

re: cards

I'm surprised that a new AAA game's cards are valued that low. It's an especially popular game so there are plenty of cards out there, but I was thinking that some people who paid full price for a war game probably wouldn't care about cards enough to list them, increasing rarity. I also thought game-playing people who spent $50 wouldn't list their drops at liquidation-like prices when most people (including CAGs, of course) wouldn't have had access to COH cards until its first significant discount.

Initiating this experiment with indie bundle hood-rats has sabotaged card value. Steeples ("Steam People" in this context) feel that (common) cards are nearly worthless, so how -- in a quest fo' mo' Provolone for Gabe -- will Valve alter that perception? Do they want to? This endeavor was botched if cards were meant to be worth something.

I used to buy, sell and trade NBA cards with friends way back when. We would eagerly open packs, and sometimes boxes of packs, hoping to add trade-assets to our collection and perhaps pull something scarce. Glacially acquiring 1-card-at-a-time is galling and definitely doesn't approximate the experience of collecting physical tarot/sports/Pokemon/titty cards and so on.

I would rather see Valve distribute digital packs instead of super fucking-lame slug drops. They could potentially add varying types of packs and series #s to milk cards even further, and the exhilaration of having a chance to pull special "inserts" out of a pack is incomparable to me, at least it was over a decade ago. Also, Idling. fucking idling. The time-saved-total by opting for packs and receiving all my drops at once would be bigger than Gabe's stainless-steel stomach-staple. Shit, son, sound the alarm.

Most Steam cards look repugnant imo. Who's responsible for hiring the artists?

But never a good discount. It reminds me of the original dead island, always 50-66%
The best I've seen it so far was on GMG with a 20% off code on top of the 66% off. And of course I forget to buy it then. Summer sale perhaps? Or I guess I'll just play during free weekends. haha

Aside, how long ago did we finally get the layout change? The rumors have finally come true. Now I just need to re-figure out where everything is.

For those conspiracy-minded among us, I've got one that expires Mon Jan 01 2018 02:59:00 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time. :whee:
Clearly indicating the start Steam's Coptic Xmas Sale in 2018. :whee: ...or maybe Xmas had to be pushed back because of climate change.

OMG SUMMER SEAL!
Worst Summer Sale Eva!

I think this might have hit the nail on the head. I personally expected AAA cards like BL2 (not indie-cheap, and had large rabid fan base) to remain higher due to higher demand (I'd wager most gamers would prefer a BL2 badge over bad fairy themed match-3/platformer mashup.)

I think the flood of indie cards has kinda set the price for "cards" (no distinction)... so mainstream gamers (not us CAGs) see the going price of "cards" (no distinction) and list their AAA game cards for the same price... maybe they'll buy a new BL2 skin with the proceeds.
