Thought as much. Lots of older games racing games are filled with legacy adverts.

Good week I say.

The comments on GoNintendo re: ads in Wave Race make me want to punch puppies. Specifically, the puppies of the dumbasses at GoNintendo.

Sigh.
The comments on GoNintendo re: ads in Wave Race make me want to punch puppies. Specifically, the puppies of the dumbasses at GoNintendo.

Sigh.
I sometimes wow at GoNintendo comments. If I wasn't lazy I'd make an account to lambast some people. But I am, so I won't.

I forgot its a Monday. Apparently the shop is going under maintenence later today. Perhaps they will unleash Check Mii Out today. Or some new channel. Bleh. I still need to reconnect my Wii from taking it with me out on the weekend.

Well, my comment's the first one there and it perfectly describes the opinion of someone who didn't understand what was going on at the time.

The problem I have with the retards complaining about the VC not having shit like online and multiplayer is that even THAT wouldn't appease them. Do you know why? Because then they'd start screaming HEY NINTENDO WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU WASTING TIME GETTING BALLOON FIGHT ONLINE WHEN YOU COULD BE FINISHING UP SMASH BROS?

You goddamn idiots. Idiots. There's no fucking winning with that type of person. They just want more and more and more and aren't ever fucking satisfied.

You childish fucks needed to be born 10 years earlier, like when I was a kid, and you could only get like 2-3 games FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH, because Nintendo has restrictions on third parties. Maybe then you'll teach yourself have to have some goddamn patience and be a little more humble about "omfg, it doesn't wipe my ass so FU*K YOU NINTENDO."

Just stfu. You're not amusing or insightful in any way. Nintendo could give us all the VC games online and that wouldn't make you any happier.

I'd rather them work on making some new goddamn games than worrying about a 14 year old not getting his Goldeneye online.

2-3 games for a month? Man, I only got like one game every 2 months or so. So, I had to be picky about which games I rented/bought.
I'm fine with keeping them just like the classics, but sure some new stuff would be nice like Leaderboard scores for SMB which doesn't affect the game whatsoever. But hey, whatever. It's not a big deal, except with Sega games. $8 for nothing on VC then $5 on XBLA with additions. That's where people should complain. Sega.

I'd be happy if no new games were ever made. I think we have enough.
And then I'd be happy if they were all online.

Maybe they wouldn't be satisfied, but I would be.

Damnit.
I bought Lolo. It's great :)

It's hard, but I could just be retarded.
Either way, 500 points well spent.

I personally like when you point your cursor over it on your channels and it comes up "LOLO" and it made ME "LOL" because it just looked like a bad internet joke

Lolo is definitely hard from what I recall. How did the game progression work again? Did you get passcodes to start from the last level you beat or did you have to start from the beginning?

And yeah, you people (Strell) were spoiled (unless you're just referring to the fact that only 2 or 3 games were released every month - then it's okay)... I own 25 NES/SNES games, so that's how many I got over the course of 5-10 years from 87 (when I think I got the NES) to 96 (when the N64 came out, and I recall the SNES becoming irrelevant). So 2-5 games a year... damn if those get played to death though. I almost miss the time I had no money.

Nothing this week. I need to pick up the Kirby game that came out a couple of weeks ago before I leave for my break, since I won't have wifi access there.
Darn right--where's my Little Nemo: The Dream Master? Is that even possible on VC because of the rights issue?
HOLY SHIT!!
LITTLE NEMO!!!
Man I want to play that again, badly, and I'm still begging for Pro Wrestling, and A Boy and His Blob, would be awesome, unless it's there already, that one I didn't check for, I just thought about that now...
But seriously, where the hell is Pro Wrestling???
-Goatman

Was Little Nemo actually supposed to be good? I bought that as shipping filler for an order back in the days of the morning update, played it a few times thought it was rather goofy.

We used to play ton of Wave Race when it first came out. It's a great multiplayer game, and I love how the levels change on different difficulties. The water was downright amazing for it's time, too.

Some hate the controls, but at the time it was pretty unique to have your track fight against you somewhat dynamically. Some levels would change quite drastically from lap to lap. I'm not buying it, cause I still have the N64 copy, but it's a great game.

The thing about Wave Race is this. Fighting against the current is okay to a point. But when you add going through the equivalent of Superman 64's rings...just ugh.
I've never played Lolo. I'd pick it up if I didn't have a backlog of games to play. This is actually the first time I've had a backlog since the SNES days. I've actually heard Little Nemo, although hard is quite good as well. This goes back to that 'great but obscure' reference I made earlier about NES titles. Back in those days, you had nothing to go on.

Look everyone, it's Senor Spider!

What brought on that name change?

"lilboo" (as you can see, been a member here since the very beginning) is a very old nickname I had from HS. it was funny then..but now, it's not so much. Nor does anyone really mention that anymore..so the name got kinda.. meh (to me at least) I just really don't like the name.. + everyone thinks I'm a girl (here, and on XBL)

Senor Spider is a new and probably never ending inside joke. Recently on my vacation (in Punta Cana) there was some sign with Spider Man..and I overheard these people mentioning "SENOR SPIDER" and I was crackin up. I probably laughed the entire week everytime I saw that picture..and..well, basically it's a "YOU HAD TO BE THERE!!!!" kind of thing.

I like it. Senor SPIDER! ::web::

F'ing 'A for Waverace--damn good racer no matter what y'all say. I still have it for N64, but I may d/l it anyway. If it was 800 points I'd prob'ly bite immediately just for nostalgia. That and I'm too lazy to hook up the 64 again. But $10 I dunno. Like someone said, the water was absolutely AMAZING when it was released. I wonder how the graphics hold up?

Lolo I'm not familiar with. Anyone got a video?

What is lolo like, I had the original nes cheatbook (or whatever the fuck they called it) by nintendo and that game was in there. So anyway is it any good and worth the $5 price tag?

Also on the Little Nemo comment, I had that game back in the day but since I was 5 that game scared the fuck out of me, seriously it did. I sold it and now I have a urge to replay that just so I can not get freaked out by it, lol.

You've got me by 3 months!

I do like the new name. Even if you don't get the inside joke it has a nice ring to it.

The best way I can describe the game is as an adventure/puzzle game with brilliant level design. Basically, on each level the goal is to collect all the hearts scattered around the room. Once you've done that, the room's treasure chest will open and once you've collected the treasure all the room's enemies die and the door to the next room opens. The trick is, each room is designed as a puzzle. The majority of the game involves block pushing puzzles. The concept seems simple, but the level design is fiendishly hard. This is the kind of game to play if you really want to give your brain a workout.

Hmm... Wave Race 64, I used to love that game but I can't imagine it's aged very well. It was damn amazing back in the day though, I remember thinking the water looked so damn realistic.

I will check it out when I get more points sometime. Thanks.

Sounds pretty good. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

Super Metroid!! Time to buy a classic controller.

Figures that tomorrow I have to ship my Wii off to Nintendo to get the GPU repaired. Hope it gets back to me before they release this one.

The Lolo series are my favorite NES games. They are puzzlers with amazing level design. Lolo 2 and 3 are even better since they are longer, but the first may have the best puzzles.

Both Metroids in such a short amount of time? I'm both happy and concerned. While it's good that the VC is getting some AAA releases, I'm worried that we're getting them just a little too fast.

I mean we already got quite a few Mario games, not to mention every Zelda game but Majora's Mask all within the first year of the Wii's life cycle. If they keep up at this pace they're gonna run out of killer games to release pretty damn fast and we'll be stuck with the dregs of yesteryear.

I don't know about that, there are still tons of good games that aren't on the VC. I'm all for them getting as many games as possible on there. Especially if it means getting Super Metroid within the next week or two.

Lolo is brutal at times. I'm loving it though. It is very frustrating at times to push a block a small bit past the point where it needs to be and to need to restart a level because of it.

Good grief!! First people bitch when there's too few games out, and now people are bitching because they're too MANY good games being released?? That's just stupid. Really, think about that for a second, and then tell me again why this is bad?

Nothing's making you d/l them immediately. You can always just buy them whenever y'know.

So when ARE those NEO GEO games comin? Last I heard they were going to be available this summer. Well, summer's almost over and there's no more news of anything from them. I am very excited about Super Metroid though. I don't care about picking up the original because
I have it unlocked on Metroid: Zero Mission.

I've never played Super Metroid, but since I love the Metroid style Castlevania games I'll be more then happy to try it out on the VC.
