has anyone played ecco jr. i can't find any reviews anywhere. i've played the other 3 ecco games and have loved them. but i've not picked up jr. i'll probably pick this up when i have a little more time for it. unless people just hate it.
It's for little kids. It's not as moronic as Barney Hide & Seek but I don't imagine that it would hold much appeal to the average, 20-something CAG.
All I know about Double Dribble is that your character would go the fuck out of bounds if you got anywhere near the line. To this day, I think that was a retarded move from a design standpoint.

Badumbadumbadum*tweet* fuck I LOST THE BALL AGAIN
OK you clearly dont understand, if you are in the air as you are heading to the out of bounds and you release the ball in the corner, you have an excellent shot at hitting a 3 pointer. ah hell this is nothing but a poor man's blades of steel.

If EVERYONE (and i mean everyone) would just refuse to buy these crappy releases, maybe they would start releasing decent stuff. Even if they released ONE decent game each week (ex: Duck Tales for NES as an example), there would be plenty to go around. Lets say the Wii is around for 5 years. 5 x 52 = 260. Now I know there are 260 DECENT games between the SNES, NES, N64, Genesis, TG-16, etc.

I actually put quite a bit of effort into tracking down the Japanese GBA release of Wrecking Crew :D (of course, part of that was because I wanted to get it for around $10--which I finally did), but I did enjoy that game on the NES (compared to Urban Champion, which was about the only other game I had at the time).
I really wish we had access to pure sales numbers.

I mean I am very curious who the hell bought Volleyball and Wrecking Crew. I can't imagine those being worth the trouble to upload.

I mean, I can't see anyone saying - ever - "Hey man, you wants to throw down in sumdat Wrecking Crew? Shit is awesome."

I'm aware someone in this thread said they liked the game, by the way. :p

(compared to Urban Champion, which was about the only other game I had at the time).
Well yes, most people prefer eating mud to eating dog shit.
Now that I think about it, why do we have Volleyball and Double Dribble before Baseball Stars, arguable the greatest baseball, if not sports game, of all time?
And Pro Wrestling! Don't forget about that one!

But who is to decide what's a DECENT game and a CRAPPY game?! Someone's most wanted game can be someone else's idea of a "CRAPPY" game...and vice versa of course!

Why do people say these things every couple of weeks when the update isn't all that great. There's always a "boycott" statement and everyone who buys any of the "crappy" games only tells Nintendo "OMG WE WANT CRAPPY GAMES"

We. Will. Get. All. Of. The. Great. Games.
We will ALSO get a lot of GOOD games, and we will also get a lot of games that may not be highly looked at. If there are games that come out in a week that you (not you, Staind, just generally speaking) don't have an interest in.. play what you got and wait until the following week.

Just look at the list of games that we currently have. I can look at it and say "Ooh, we are close to 200 games..and 100 of those are good!". Anyone else can disagree and state "No, only 56 of those are good/worth downloading"

If I want to download the 100 good ones.
And someone wants to download what they think is the 56 good ones..
then..so be it?

Nintendo should update and release EVERY big game they got. This way, they can laugh at us for having the next 5 years of updates be disappointing.

But whatever really.

Anyone remember Arcana for the SNES? It was made by HAL, if I'm not mistaken, so it's a possible candidate for the VC at any time. Dungeon scrolling RPG, released in 1992, so fairly early in the SNES life. Most GameFAQs reviews bash the game-check it out, you'll see 3s, 4s, the occasional 5, and the occasional rabid fan. I happen to be one of those rabid fans. Arcana's a game with a lot of flaws-not much replayability or customization, battling over and over to prep for bosses can be cumbersome, the whole game is pretty much on rails-and yet it's got those few qualities (great soundtrack, decent enough story) that make it an awesome game in my eyes.

My point? If and when Arcana comes out, the rest of you can proclaim it a crappy week, but I'll be hopping over your heads on the way to the Shop Channel. :)

Unfortunately, as is not the case nowadays, a lot of "decent" games back in the day were licensed titles. DuckTales included. Who owns the rights to a video game with the DuckTales license now? That kind of question will come up a lot.
Unfortunately, as is not the case nowadays, a lot of "decent" games back in the day were licensed titles.
Funny how things have changed.

What do wii have here?
Double Dribble, a game I wouldnt have bought 10 years ago for 50 cents.
Funny seeing all these genesis games from the ps2 compalation which I bought for 10 bucks.
Funny how things have changed.
Indeed.

I shudder to think of how bad things will have to be 10-20 years from now for gamers to complain about how much they want to be able to download Enter the Matrix.
wow they are adding neo geo games. That is fantastic. I may have to actually pick up a Wii if i ever get internet access.
Too bad games like king of fighters 98 are something like 686 megs. A couple of those games would eat up an sd card in two bites. I want to see neo turf masters and waku waku 7 soon.

waku waku 7 would be vary nice. I would like to see Twinkle Star Sprites or Crossed Swords.

as for double dribble...whats not better than dunking from the 3 point line....

the neo geo games are not as large as SNK would have had you believe back then. divide whatever numbers they put on the box by 8 and you're a bit closer to VC size. That doesn't include all the filler data SNK used to bump up those numbers to make them look more appealing, or newer compression technology.
Well, seeing Double Dribble on the VC is just one step away from one of my favorite NES sports games from Konami: Blades of Steel. I would get excited over that one.
You'll probably be pleased to know that the OFLC has just rated two new games for VC:

Blades of Steel

Mega Man 2

I'm surprised the Hudson site doesn't have any release dates for any Turbografx 16 OR CD games. Usually they have 1 or 2 up letting us know those games will be released in a certain month..

Maybe at the end of this week. Since next update will be in December.
Still waiting for Japan's releases for today's...hopefully it'll be an indication of something good to come...(POKEMON SNAP?)

I do have a feeling that Bubble Bobble & Eternal Champions will be here this Monday. 2 very, very, good games IMO
You'll probably be pleased to know that the OFLC has just rated two new games for VC:

Mega Man 2
Now I've made it difficult for myself. If I had just bought Ice Hockey a while ago, I would be done, but now I will have to agonize over the choice between Ice Hockey and Blades of Steel.

Finally!:applause: Ask and I shall receive. I must be magic. Any requests? Just kidding. I must not use this power for evil.

According to Wikipedia, Japan got these games today

King's Knight, NES, 500 Points
Panel de Pon, SNES, 800 Points
Langrisser, Genesis, 700 Points (I have no idea..)
Kawa no Nushi Tsuri Shizenha, TG16, 800 Points (Still ..::shrugs::)

More games I wants (yeah, I know you don't care, but I like posting these):

unreleased/unannounced:

Genesis:
Cyborg Justice (build-your-own-giant-robot + dismember other robots)
Crusader of Centy (LttP for Genesis)
Elemental Master (fun vertical shmup. I only play vert shmups, I just don't like the horizontal ones. Dunno why)
The Haunting: Featuring Polterguy (awesome, awesome idea for a game. nice execution, too)
Todd's Adventures in Slime World (apparently one of the best/most overlooked platformers ever?)

SNES:
Gunman's Proof (played this on ZSNES back in the day, would love to see an english translation on VC)

Sega CD:
Snatcher (a brilliant classic, apparently)

and finally:
wow, you must be old. I've never heard of ANY of those games. oh, and I dont think ninja golf is ''NEW'' any more
These are all games I've been reading about online, I've only ever played Gunman's Proof, and that was on an emulator a few years back. Although yes, I am old enough to have played most of them when they came out. I guess being in my twenties makes me old?

And Ninja Golf will always be new. Just like it will always be so, so awesome. It has ninjas that GOLF.
"Vegas Stakes"? You've got to be kidding me... that game sucks ass.
not when you have a serious gambling addiction.

*cough*lilboo*cough*
It's that intro versus fat guy/skinny guy/medium guy.
i stil have my original cart of Ice Hockey and i may buy Blades of Steel for my NES at the local shop near me.....

Fat Ice hockey Player FTW

You guys forgot the

Ka Ching!

mufffled voice

Blades Of Steel
not when you have a serious gambling addiction.

*cough*lilboo*cough*
I actually sold a cart version of it not that long ago, along with several other outstanding games (like George Foreman's KO Boxing.)

 I never said Vegas Stakes was an awesome game!
HOWEVER,
I'm loving it because me, my sister, and my dad would have a hilarious time with this game. The random encounters you get in the casino are so shady and downright creepy! And I ALWAYS bring Black Isabelle along. I never seen a woman so black before.

For me, this is all just nostalgia purposes. Playing it again recently, I can see how the game lacks. But overall, I'm fine with my purchase as it's bringing back a lot of good memories.

So, would that be classified as a serious gambling game addiction?

Shit. I'm going to buy Vegas Stakes, and then punish people by forcing them to play it.

So I hope I never kidnap lilboo, because he'll be sitting there saying things like "THIS IS AWESOME!"

And then I'll know I'll have made a grievious mistake.

 Yes!

"O NOEZ, THAT MANS WIFE WASN'T REALLY HAVING SURGERY!!"

 I do wish this wasn't $8. These encounters are just.. ridiculous.

The fact that you put your name in the game, and they call you Mr(s) _____ everytime they speak with you.

"Say Mr. LB, do you remember me?"
No - I've never seen you before
"Well I remember you. I thought you were a nice person. I was going to
repay my debt to you... But if you're going to be so unfriendly, I'll just
be on my merry little way. Good bye.
"

 and the people are just so creepy looking on top of that!
Ahhhh.. What a weird and yet classic game. ALWAYS bring Isabelle with you.. because she's pretty gangsta.
Shit. I'm going to buy Vegas Stakes, and then punish people by forcing them to play it.
You could send your worst enemies Vegas Stakes as a "gift" when that feature is released.

omg. I remember playing Double Dribble over and over. Not because it was a good game, but because I loved basketball and that was about all they had for NES at the time.

Loved that awful voice sample. Sounded like a merman talking over a cb radio underwater: "Dublph Driblph" lulz.
Nice, hope we get Puyo Puyo 2 soon. Possibly the best block-dropping game ever.
I must agree, those blobs were awesome! I thought it was better than tetris

*runs from angry mob of retro nerds*

LB, it would be slightly more, since it was a Disney Game. Kinda like what they did with the TMNT pricing. Same goes if they release Ducktales.

God knows why they would release Mega Man 2 before the first one. That seems all kinds of silly.

*runs from angry mob of retro nerds*
It was totally better than Tetris. Multiplayer was amazing. Although I've been really enjoying Tetris DS recently, and I can't say that there have been any great Puyo Puyo games recently.

this is the horror game with the actress that played Kimberly from "different strokes"

I would have made some sort of joke here, but i did a little more googling and found out she was dead.

If only they used Alyssa Milano and made it some sort of soft core vampire horror game. Then it would have flown off the shelves.

Are you confusing Snatcher for Night Trap?

I found Night Trap in a thrift store, recently, and I hear such awful things, I still haven't loaded the game

I am right there with you!!! But I think it may just be the two of us  Almost all ll I ever got as a kid were the clearance games... I think this was from a clearance at Penney's. Used to play and play just to see what would happen with the encounters. It seems there was something amusing about poker too... hmmm... I'll have to pick this up soon to refresh my memory....
