So now Mick will mow Vince's lawn?

SD thoughts -

Very enjoyable transition show. Swagger-Cara was good, although I question the wisdom of having Swagger lose right before being set up as a face on Raw, that could be explained away by saying Cole's advice clearly lead him down the wrong path. The blue and gold lighting was somewhat distracting during the match, although it did help Sin Cara stand out more and looked awesome for the big dives. Mark Henry and Rey had every match they've ever had, which means it's still the best Mark Henry match of either this or last year. I liked how Drew carried himself in the Orton deal. Shame both he and Riley got RKOd, but at least it sets up Riley-Orton on SD, hopefully after Riley gets a decent theme. Christian cut easily his best WWE promo ever on this show as well, which seemed far more real than his usual "DOING IT FOR MY PEEPS!" deal because it actually had some reality to it. He's the right guy, at the right time, replacing the right friend and now he needs to step up and finally fulfill the potential he's showed before.

Quotes -
Cole - FOR FIVE YEARS, RANDY ORTON WAS A PART OF RAW - AND NOW HE’S ON FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!
Orton - Now for those who don’t know me… Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Randy Orton! And for the first time in five years, I’m back here…once again…on the SmackDown roster. While I’m looking forward to the many challenges that lie ahead, this Sunday at Extreme Rules, I have unfinished business to attend to involving CM Punk.
Drew - I’m sorry - did I buy a ticket to see all of you!? RANDY ORTON IS ON SMACKDOWN! But with the good news comes the bad news for everybody - Drew McIntyre is moving onwards and upwards to Monday Night Raw! It’s a real shame, Randy. A real shame. It looks like the WWE Universe is gonna have a little longer for Drew McIntyre versus Randy Orton. I know what you want to do, but I’m just out here to say hello…and goodbye! (gets RKOd)
Orton - Now, as I was saying… (Riley comes out)
Cole - IT’S A-RI!
Alberto - MY NAME IS ALBERTO DEL RIO! BUT YOU, AND ESPECIALLY YOU RANDALL, ALREADY KNOW THAT! I can see you’re doing a great first impression - just like I did on my first night in the Smackdown! I feel bad for you people - because you’re losing me from SmackDown! And after this Sunday, you’re gonna lose the world championship cuz I’m gonna bring it with me to Raw! And for you Randall, like I said, you know how to make a great first impression.
Booker - WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!
Alberto - ALBERTO DEL RIO KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A LASTING ONE!
(after Kofi is destroyed by Sheamus)Booker - KOFI GOTTA STOP WITH ALL THAT DANCING AND MESSING AROUND - GOTTA GET DOWN TO BUSINESS!
Cole - CAN I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!? NEED I REMIND YOU THAT MR. WRESTLEMANIA IS TALKING!? I would like to introduce you to my trainer. My friend. My tag team partner who is going to watch me single-handedly pick apart that royal imposter Jerry Lawler and dissect that fat sow Jim Ross. Who responds to the call of SUUUUIIIEEEE!
(as Swagger’s GIANT RED RAW SHIRT is on-screen)Josh - We should mention that Jack Swagger was drafted to Raw.
Josh - Sin Cara has some mystifying offense.
Booker - Sin Cara can show the SmackDown Universe what he’s made of.
Khali - GRACIAS!
Rey - It’s gonna be hard leaving you guys. Ever since I’ve been on SD, you’ve let me enter your homes on Fridays to entertain you. I’ve enjoyed every single minute of it. We’ve had a lot of fun - last year WE WON THE WORLD TITLE, together! Just cuz I got drafted to Raw doesn’t mean that our journey’s ending - it continues, and it continues on Sonday when I DEFEAT CODY RHODES AND WE CELEBRATE TOGETHER! It don’t matter if I’m on Raw or SD - each and everyone of you will always be a part of the 6-1-9!
Cole - After Sunday, they’ll call 911 after what Cody doest o him on Sunday.
Henry -It’s unfortunate for you Rey that your farewell is my debut!
Cole - Biggest underdog in the world…biggest little man…whatever.
Booker - I know Mark Henry, and he’s a teddy bear - BUT NOW HE’S A GRIZZLY BEAR!
Cole - I haven’t seen Mark Henry look this good in a long time.
Booker - REY IS GONNA BE TOTALLY BROKE UP GOING INTO EXTREME RULES!
Booker - WHAT DA HELL!?
Josh - IT’S CODY RHODES!
Booker - CODY RHODES IS A SICK INDIVUDUAL WHO NEEDS HELP!
Booker - WHY HAS THAT CHANGE IN MARK HENRY HAPPENED NOW AT THIS TIME!
Cole - Michelle has accomplished SO MUCH IN WWE - Women’s champion, Divas champion, first diva ever to hold the women’s and divas titles.
Josh - Layla co-held the divas title with her.
Cole - Michelle carried it. Can’t I have an opinion?
Josh - You have an opinion about everything!
Cole - And it’s usually right!
Layla - I’m sick of this ‘shell - let’s have a real match at Extreme Rules, no DQ. Maybe that’ll finally shut you up!
McCool - SHUT ME UP!? YOU’D BE NOTHING WITHOUT ME. I ACCEPT! YOU’RE NOT GETTING OFF THAT EASY - I ACCEPT UNDER ONE CONDITION! LOSER LEAVES (awkward cut) WWE!
Cole - Well, that’ll end a relationship. And someone’s career!
Christian - This was my last time on the road with my best friend Edge.
Striker - On Sunday, you’ll compete for the World’s heavyweight title on Sunday, your thoughts?
Christian - Alberto says “destiny” a lot, and six months ago, mine was in question because Alberto tore my pec. I asked myself what if that’s it? What if my career’s over? My best friend of 27 years, Edge, one minute he’s defending his world title and then he gets the news that his career’s over. It’s got me thinking - am I just in the right place at the right time? IS IT TIME FOR ME TO FULFILL MY POTENTIAL!? Until last week, I’ve never even put my hands on the world title because I felt like I never had the right to touch it, but on Sunday, my destiny is to not only touch the title, BUT EARN THE RIGHT TO TKEEP IT!
Cole - THE COUNTRY WHIPPING MATCH IS MY SPECIALTY!
Josh - 2011 Ferrari California.
Cole - I had a chance to ride in the front seat today.
Alberto - GIVE HIM TO MEEEEE!
Booker - Brodus has something you can’t teach - MASS! SIZE! GIRTH!
Cole - THIS IS WHERE RANDY GOES TO THAT OTHER PLACE!

The Steiner stuff on Impact was hilarious. He needs to be on TV more. "I'm a wrestler! You were a basketball player. Whose afraid of a basketball player? Other basketball players?" :D Morgan is God awful when he talks. He needs a manager or something. He shoots out every cliche known in existence when he cuts a promo.

Anderson just needs to turn full heel already. Is he even capable of talking like a normal human being or does he always have to do a Austin/Rock fusion when he opens his mouth? His hunt after the title makes no sense either because the guy keeps losing. He's gotten more title shots in the past few months than most of the TNA roster has their whole career. WHERE'S MY TITLE SHOT? :)

But it WASN'T THE SHOT HE WANTED. WAH WAH WAH. Anderson wants to be Austin, and TNA wants to book him like that, but they're missing the core of his character - if he had a problem, he'd face it head-on. Anderson just whines and bitches and moans about EVERYTHING that doesn't go his way. Well, except his car - he didn't care in the slightest that Sting destroyed his car.

Well, duh. He's rich, bee-otch.

I think Anderson's current character is interesting because of its whiny element.

I don't think he's trying to be Austin - just a tweener / asshole, which is what Austin was, at his core.

If they booked him more like Austin, where he whooped Mr. Bischoff's ass every night, you'd shit on him and TNA for ripping off Stone Cold.

Can't have it both ways.

Austin didn't beat Vince's ass every night - he did it a lot, but not every night. Anderson's a HUGE Austin fan - that's great. But there's only one Steve Austin. Anderson isn't a huge visual ripoff of him, like say...FUNB Terry Bollea was, but his anti-establishment character is clearly modeled after Austin's and like Hogan's run with it, seems to be miscasting him terribly.

TNA's miscasting a lot of guys, but it sticks out more with Anderson because for the better part of at least two months, he's been coming out and just bitching about EVERYTHING. And he isn't a tweener - he's a babyface. The announcers put him over like one, the fans cheer him like one, and he is one. The problem is that he's completely unlikeable and selfish. Austin's babyface "BMF"character, at his core, was about standing up for either himself or Jim Ross. If he was wronged, he would beat the shit out of the person who wronged him, or the people who stood in the path of him getting at the people who wronged him.

The '98 Austin had to be provoked to really attack someone. Anderson doesn't want to attack people - he'd rather complain and nag them to death until he gets what he wants. He acts like a spoiled child, and if I wanted to see a blonde-haired guy with two star matches act like that, I'd watch Johnny Stewart on AWA shows. It's an act for a heel, and not a main event-level heel, and he's somehow supposed to be a babyface. Anderson as a face CAN work - they did it with the redemption deal with Jeff Hardy, but this character doesn't work as a face.

Tell ya whos character is working right now...
Bully Ray.

That dude is cutting out of this world promos and makes you hate his guts when he opens his mouth.

Honorable mention to Sting lately also. Particularly the other night when Anderson was asking him questions about his truck. That was awesome.

No joke. Bully Ray has been on fire. It's nice to see a heel that isn't a pussy. Seems like a rarity nowadays.

Sting has been pretty good too, but he can't go too long in the ring anymore. You can tell after five minutes he's pretty much gassed out.

I give TNA a lot of credit for trying to put over the heavyweight title and make it seem like a big deal after the Jeff Hardy situation. They just need to elevate new guys into the main event scene, but Anderson's whining is a huge turn off.

I caught up on Smackdown and LOVED that editing job they did with McCool. Man that was terrible.

Christian cut one of the better promos on WWE TV in a long time. Very convincing, and made the title seem really important. He's a guy that you can depend on to go in there with anyone and have a good match. It would be cool if WWE would give him the title because all around, he's one of the best guys in the company.

FTFY. I fucking love Christian. He's good at everything he does, even with shitty booking.
FTFY. I fucking love Christian. He's good at everything he does, even with shitty booking.
I've been a fan of his since he was on ECW putting on great matches with pretty much anyone. He always had a pretty good match on PPV openers when he was ECW champ. Since then he's been a pretty reliable guy in the ring.
I just watched an episode of House and at one point in the show he was watching Christian Cage/Abyss at Lockdown 2006.
Christian to do house shows confirmed?

Bully Ray has been great. I remember back in the day when he'd cut those Dudley Boy promos on ECW, especially the PPVs where he'd be extra dirty, the crowd would literally want to jump the railing. I've never seen heat like that before.

Yes. Christian vs Hugh Laurie at Entertainamania XXVII.

I'll never forget going to an ECW house show and watching Bubba just destroy the crowd. "Who's this fuckin retard in the front here?" "Who's the whore with you? Is that your mom?" Lady yells fuck you. "I wouldn't fuck you with his dick, but I bet your skanky ass would rather get some big black cock from D-Von anyway!"

So much win. It's incredible that he didn't wind up getting shot/stabbed during the ECW days.

If you acknowledge that he's unlikable and selfish, aren't you acknowledging that he has a heelish element to his character? And if the crowd gives him babyface pops, mixed with the last revelation, wouldn't he qualify as a tweener? Especially since he beats up the heels and faces for his own selfish needs, while still appealing to the audience.

People shat on him for him calling himself an ASSHOLE while he was a babyface... and now that he's actually... an ASSHOLE... you're calling him a babyface...

And I can explain the announcers putting him over as a face (which I'm not sure they're doing): They stink. You've acknowledged many, many times that Tenay and Taz are FAR from in sync with the storylines and emotions that need to be conveyed from the ring to the viewers at home.

Anderson panders to the fans for a cheap pop - he's supposed to be a face. Only he's a face with no redeeming qualities.

I do agree that he panders - but he panders asshole-ish behavior.

Well saw That's What I Am at a theater yesterday. There was 8 other people in there which was about 8 more than I was expected. The guy at the theater even said he thought it would be a private showing, heh. It was a dumb kids movie at times, but it wasn't so bad. It had nice sappy moments for the girlfriend and least seem like a good message for kids. I could see it being good to play in classrooms or something. Ed Harris was the main source of credibility for the whole thing though and without someone like him in the role it would have hurt the film a lot.

I love how Anderson is a face for being an asshole now(and has been for several months) when just a year ago he was mocking U.S. soldiers while feuding with Kurt Angle.

So, how long has Orlando Jordan been gay?

Just saw him on the Eric Bischoff/Jason Hervey produced program Beverly Hills Fabulous

There was a story floating around that he hadn't re-signed yet. Beth Phoenix coming to Raw was a move to try to get him to stay. I guess he still hasn't.

Discussion of the horrible booking right now at tinychat.com/cag

I bet that was some guy on Twitter named OhMyGodItsJade. He/She's been made very thinly veiled racist comment all night.
