Can't wait for Cole to interrupt a Divas match tomorrow night and then be subsequently demolished by Kharma.

That should have been the last match of the night. Would have been the perfect ending to a PPV.

But great to see Capt Charisma finally win a heavyweight title in WWE.

Good news for Christian. I legitimately didn't think he'd ever hold a world title in WWE after having been TNA world champ.

I was thinking the same thing right after he won.

Cena winning the title kinda puts a damper on the whole thing.

Kidding.

He couldn't take Cena being a double digit world title holder.

Good to see Christian win the title. He's a guy that definitely deserves it.

Oh shit. The video ended right before Bob Backlund came out to put John Cena in the crossface chicken wing for wearing jean shorts.

I'm happy for Christian, I truly am. I don't necessarily like to go 'that guy deserves it', but it's true in this case. Shame it took his best friend having to retire to make it happen, but I'm guessing he isn't complaining.

Oh, and somewhere Matt Hardy is eating his feelings.

One of these things is not like the others, right?

Next video title "Cold Blood goes to Cold Stone for some Birthday Cake Remix to celebrate Christian's title win"

Don't talk shit about birthday cake remix, now.

That Obama video was excellent - particularly seeing Donald Trump have to squeeze out just enough humility to smirk and wave as Obama was roasting him (as you know the poor bastard was steaming inside). Also the movie trailer was pretty funny. Biden as the goofy sidekick, replete w/ ODB (not the wrestler) in the background? That's clever.

Christian/Del Rio wasn't only a great win for Christian, but it was a helluva match as well. Those two had great pacing and a few unique things we have not seen in a ladder match (along with all the favorite hits). The way they booked the match, I never thought Christian was going to win. Del Rio was always a step ahead of him; the way I was reading the match, I thought they were going to go with Christian fighting and getting knocked down, over and over, losing the match but gaining credibility in the process (think Stone Cold v Bret Hart, WM13).

The run-ins were almost overkill, and I think they harmed the match just a wee bit. Edge honking his horn as a distraction didn't fly with me. You're at the top of a ladder, mere inches from a title belt you've never held - are you going to let a dude who is a hundred feet away honking his horn bother you? Meh.

As for Cena winning, I think it's a smart idea as they have to do something with Del Rio on Raw, and he's got nothing waiting for him if the heel Miz is champion. Del Rio/Cena might start this week or next (likely next, since tonight is all about Rock). I'm not enthused about Cena winning, but him holding the belt is to be expected at this point. It's clockwork, and I've given up on being outraged by him being pushed. The theme to the program is Nickelback, which should tell you everything you need to know about the taste of their fanbase. They want bland, they cheer bland.

NJPW show is two weeks away. fuck yeah.

I always thought Cold Stone missed a marketing opportunity by not having Stone Cold do a commercial for them. Then again, beer and ice cream don't really mix.

That Cena thing is hilarious. Company has that dude on such a short leash that he 1) has to plug his catchphrase first and 2) has to use the term "compromised to a permanent end" instead of "killed."

Don't get why they cut the video right when Luger was coming out. Maybe they'll show the footage on Raw or something.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Miz, since they've done such a poor job with him. I'm guessing he gets his rematch at the next PPV.

This.

I have to admit that I'm a bit baffled after last night. Miz has been on a roll, Cena really hasn't seemed to give a shit about the title, and the biggest build for Extreme Rules was really centered around Morrison/Truth.

What's really confusing about it is that adding Morrison/Truth to the mix didn't really add much of anything, especially in light of the outcome. Cena winning just sort of came out of nowhere.

I'm also not a fan of the fact that Cena beat Miz clean. Given this feud, unless this *was* the blow-off, Cena pinning Miz made no sense. The smart play would've been to have Truth attack Morrison and leave him down, allowing Cena to get the win. That gives Morrison the same incentive to go after Truth, and sets up an easy rematch with Miz getting to rightly complain about not losing. But no, they went with Cena going over clean and not protecting the heel at all.

To me, this is illustrates exactly the problem with setting up Cena/Rock a year out. Any time we know Rock is appearing, Cena will become a focal point. I'm very afraid, too, that since Rock is around, Miz won't get the amount of time devoted to him that a guy who just lost the title should. I'd also expect any Cena promo tonight to be roughly 80% GO AMERICA!, 19% Rock, and 1% Miz. Bullshit.

It also brings up an obvious question here... what now? I have no idea where Miz goes after this, and Cena's opponent shows up every few months. Does Cena hold the title until WM28 now? Even if he doesn't, whoever gets it knows that they're only keeping it warm for Cena to take back before WM28. The entire concept of asserting the Rock/Cena match will be for the title a year out is bizarre, let alone capping it off with Cena actually WINNING the fucking thing 2-3 weeks later. I have no idea what the thinking behind this is.

I will say this, though... I canceled my cable over the weekend, so I won't be watching Raw tonight, or for the forseeable future. Up until the end of the main event last night, that made me conflicted. After the PPV ended? Not so much. If we end up getting our patented 'Summer of AMERICAN HERO John Cena Running Roughshod Over Raw', then I'm totally cool about not having a ticket for that ride.

It's going to be a hot one.

WWE ought to have Miz demand to be traded to Smackdown and chase Christian for the title. Those two could have solid matches together, and I think that SD is lacking top level heels to compete at a believable level.

That works for me too...anyone but Orton. Though I suspect he will resume making Wade Barrett his bitch.

They need to find some way to get the IC title on Cody Rhodes.

:applause:

Cena's tremendously cheap Bin Laden heat aside, Kharma's music is awesome.

Edit: Way to make it obvious, Justin King.

Like the Chamber PPV, this was a great show overall with a strong card. Orton-Punk was Orton's best match in a long time, and I liked that they did five counts off of single shots from weapons - really put over the danger behind them. Middle-rope RKO was a good finish, and Punk's facial expressions were hilarious throughout. Sheamus-Kofi was a good impromptu ladder match. The top rope boom drop finish looked fairly impressive, and while Raw did need a secondary belt, I'm going to miss Sheamus - THE PROUD CHAMPION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Truth's promo was really good, aside from forgetting how to spell conspiracy. I love this new intense character - it's like his TNA heel one, only with less race-baiting. The country whipping match...okay, this was not altogether good. It was fine for what it was and better than Lawler-Cole, but not good or actually very satisfying. Lawler got more licks in on Raw, and J.R busted his fucking hand up on Cole's skull on free TV...and it just led to a schoolboy finish. And Cole and Swagger doing the plane deal up the ramp. Hopefully they actually turn Swagger face with this angle in time because they had something with that, and him as a comedy act isn't going to help him out on Raw.

Rey-Cody was fantastic. They got a lot out of impressive-looking dives off of small things, like the Beautiful Disaster off the concession stand, the alley oop jump into a cross body off another one, and this stuff got over huge with the folks there. The pre-match video package was also tremendous. Layla-McCool was a fine match and led to the debut of KHARMA and she brought her A game here. She looked scary, cackled, Michelle looked scared shitless, and they delivered the goods with this debut. Fantastic scary theme for her, not quite as good as her TNA theme, but still pretty good, and she'll now be using the implant buster I guess since the powerbomb might be too close to Batista's. Still, they got her over as a terrifying figure in one night and I can't wait to see how they use her on Raw.

Christian-Alberto was crazy. Christian's ribs were badly bruised not even ten minutes into it, and Alberto's elbow drop on the ladder was insane - he landed with one hip on the ladder and then landed on the floor with his other one. Dude's gonna be hurting bad this week. Christian doing the spear was neat, and doesn't bug me since he's doing it as a tribute to his friend - it was the same deal in TNA, only now with a bit more honor since Edge is retired. I thought for sure WWE would never give Christian the title, but they did - and really, given the story of him doing this for his best friend to finish the job that he couldn't due to his retirement, him winning was the only finish that made sense. Booker put the world title win over huge, too. And damn did Brodus ever earn himself some brownie points by smashing his face up and still going on. I hope they keep him on Raw with Alberto because Alberto being in the middle of a tiny guy and a huge guy works.

Tag title match was a match. Might've been nice if they bothered to setup Zeke and Wade as a set tag team, and Zeke should've dropped the fall here. He's terrible, has no long-term future beyond a bodyguard-type role, and Barrett could be a main event-level guy again. But not if they book him to lose nothing tag title matches. Triple threat cage match was really good, so it turns out, they CAN be done well - just not in TNA. The double suplex off the top of the cage was risky, but looked good, and thankfully didn't wind up as a double brainbuster like I thought it would when Miz started falling. It amazed me how effective Cole was at putting over Morrison as having an edge here due to his parkour stuff when he's usually such a detriment to the product by burying every single solitary thing about it. Morrison's flip dive off the cage looked impressive, and they've clearly got something with the guy in this main event-level role, they just need to prevent him from speaking, because then it just exposes him. I liked that the show began with a second-rope finisher and then concluded with a top rope one, and while I'm sad that Miz's reign ended, at least it did so in dramatic fashion. Although I do hope there's more to him winning than just setting up a tease on Raw with Cena holding the gold in front of Rock and that they plan to actually elevate Truth into a WWE Title program after his deal with Morrison is done, ore they can do a 4-way feud.

KHARMA's gonna kill you...

CELEBRATION AT COLD STONE!

I think what happened is JR punched Cole in the mouth and took one of his teeth to right to the bone, which is still pretty gnarly but not exactly breaking your fist on a guy's face. Plus if you get plaque in the wound and don't treat it properly, it can be disastrous.

Having said that, though, what's the over/under on Raw beginning tonight with a pretentious pro-America video package and/or "USA" chant? I'll bet my hat.

Though I'm not a Cena fan , I'm glad Miz doesn't have the belt. I'm still not a fan of The Miz, but I started liking him more without Alex Riley so I say get rid of Riley tonight.

And yes, that end video with Cena was pretty lame. So besides "wrestling" and "kill", what other words are banned from WWE programming?

I can't even begin to imagine how awful Cena's promos are going to be now that Osama is dead. Tonight could possibly set the record for the worst Cena promo of all time, even worse than some of the stuff with him and Miz.
