TRU Green Tag going to 90% starting 3-16

Hello everyone, and I guess this is my first post on here. I have fell in love with this site, and now it is time to contribute myself. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but everything at TRU that is green tagged will be 90% off starting tomorrow (3-16). My store only has accesories, but some other stores may have some games, but I doubt it.

If this has already been, posted, go ahead and delete it.

So what's so bad about these Go-Net adapters? I don't want to waste my time setting it up if it's unreliable. Also, how much memory card space does it take up?

I've seen that's it's just not compatible with many games that came out after it was released. I would avoid it.

Is that teen tech DVD player and the 5.4 LCD screens YMMV? I didn't see them on the list that someone put up in here...

Does the ar max work with my slim ps2? I looked online and it looks as though these things don't work very well. Has anyone here used them? Do I have to have my PS2 online?
 
Didn't find anything worthwhile at the TRU in Akron, OH and the cashier working wouldn't let me see a list of what was green tagged, saying they didn't have one.

The one I just got form TRU a few weeks ago does work with my slim PS2 but there are so many versions of that thing I wouldn't make any guarantees.

I actually bought that 24" for my wife when GT went to 50%... I bought the 26" version last night, but gave it to my brother-in-law today, so no picture..

I checked out mine and the 2d and 3d surrond systems were $29.98 and $39.98 respectively.....

Did you price check the 2d speakers? They are green tag, but may not have been marked as such.
 
my TRU had PS2 Bundle Pak, PS2 Pro Gamer's Bundle, Gamecube starter kit; all Intec of course, for 5 bucks a piece. Was tempted to get, but didn't. Did get 2d ps2 speakers for 3 bucks. Wish they had
ps2 memory cards on green tag, not the memory expansion paks =(
 
Got a bunch of the intec stuff. (5)PS1 2x memory cards in different colors, 2 PS1 controllers, multitap, controller ext. cables and rf cables. Also, some cheap toys for future gifts and charity donations. Best score was 4 cases(24 per case) of Nikl nips(little wax soda bottles filled with juice) for 5 cents each.

When I first got there I couldn't find anything. After about a 20 minutes, I finally asked and they brought me to the isle.
I arrived first in the isle. They put all the green tag items together. I was constantly under pressure from 2 or 3 ladies hovering around me waiting to swoop in, but I managed to grab everything I wanted.

Make sure to ask if you don't find anything. The isle they had the stuff in was the first time they ever put clearance stuff there. I know, because I have been shopping there for years and though I knew all the spots.
 
I saw alot of the stuff mentioned in this thread at my TRU but I didn't see a single of the items actually Green Tagged.

Does that mean they aren't 90% off or just aren't marked?

That means the items are not marked. I went to mine and nothing was marked so I had the guy scan everything and it worked fine. Except the Ps2 3D sound system didn't work for me, it just rang up as $79.99.

I went three diffenent TRU's last night and the PS2 3D sound system rang up $79.99 at all 3. It was the Intec ones. Are the ones green tagged a different brand?
 
my TRU didnt have any 3d ones, but the 2d ones I bought are Intec. When the cashier rang up my speakers they were $30 until she pressed some button and told me it was 3 bucks. Didnt see it ring up for 3, but on the receipt it got discounted. So try a final checkout might get discounted then.

The button the cashier pressed was the TOTAL button.
This has happened in the past at TRU, you have to have them press the total button.

Goddamn, I just came back after a price check on these said they were $29.99.

The one I rung up was for GC; is it any different than the PS2 one?
 
At my store the guy checked the speakers 3 times and did total. THey were marked down from the normal price about 40% but he said that they were not green tagged at this Toys R Us. He was able to tell instantly on all the other green tagged items and he did try totalling the speakers.

He told me the individual store green tags can vary slightly from store to store. So if anyone could get me a 2d or 3d sound system PLEASE let me know. I REALLY want one bad.
 
Found an XBox Live "MechAssault" kit for $7. Before paying, I asked to check the contents in front of the cashier, as the box looked opened. Sure enough, the XBox Live card was missing. The cashier took pity on me and scavenged a card from one of the Crimson Skies kits to complete the Green Tagged set. Score!!!

Great Score! After the transaction did you reward the cashier with a reach around...:rofl: You are fortunate, as you probably already know, to come across a decent cashier.
 
I picked up a PS2 game sound system $3, a GC starter pack $3, a PS2 wireless racing wheel $6, and a PS2 8 meg memory card expansion $0.80. Sweet deal!

I also saw an Action Replay (PS2) for $4.99 (not green tagged). Is this a good deal? I don't think it comes with a memory card.
 
I picked up a 5.4in Intec screen for the original PS2. If anyone wants to trade thier Slim 5.4in Intec screen for mine, post up or send me a PM, thanks!
 
Two days ago I was at TRU and asked for a price check and I heard the guy (who might've been a new guy) tell the bitchy girl that he thought she had to press Total. She was like, we don't do that anymore (or something like that). I spoke up and said you used to have to do that (hit Total). I was wanting to price check DDR Exteme, but noooo! I had a copy of VJ DS and she said no DS games had ever been green tagged. I said, I know I got Mr. Driller there, but forget whether it was on sale or GT.

Then a little while later I took just DDR Extreme and a PS2 remote up to the register. When they asked for my phone number, I started laughing, because I knew I wasn't gonna buy the shit. They got the Karaoki Revolution game out instead of DDRE. :) So, when they were ringing me up, I said I wasn't gonna buy them. I told her I was just wanting her to hit Total. I'm pretty sure she got mad. I said I'd put the stuff back, she said no, I got it. Talk about not wanting any business. Forgot to check the bikes.
 
fuck bad customer service. No matter what their color, I seem to always run into some nigger that can't do their job with courtesy and respect.
 
I got some games and items on my trade list in sig. I also have an extra GC starter kit or I can always pay some $$$. Is the 2d sound set about $6 after discount?

Oh and i'd prefer the vertical one but would take either.

I found two $6 PS2 wireless wheels at another TRU. I have them on hold and will be getting them tomorrow morning, since it's an hour drive and they're closing in 50 minutes.

I'm keeping one for myself, but does anyone else need one?
 
god my TRU is such a peice of shit. Instead of having 90% off green tagged items they removed all the green tags and marked them down at a specific clearence price.

i bought one before and that crap didnt work. it came with batteries so i used that. that didnt work so i thought the batteries were dead since its crappy batteries. i went to buy new fresh duracell batteries and that didnt work. so i returned it the next day. went to see if there are any more wireless..... nope they dont have. the day i went they had like 5.
 
I saw a 5.4 PS2 screen (I think model #g7600) and I was wondering if that was green tagged? It was marked at $69.99, but it also looked as if they'd been there forever...maybe YMMV? I remember someone posted earlier that model #g7300 was green tagged, but I didn't see any of those.

Well, since you put it that way, I'm going to test them both before I offer one of them up on here... don't need any bad mojo on here because of an Intec product..
 
The stores around me were pretty well picked over...but check out your electronics department for "Juice Box MP3 Starter Kits". They're $3.99 and have a 32mb SD card in them, a USB/SD card reader and a little USB extension cable.

$4 for a 32mb SD card is quite the bargain.

man no bikes are my TRU, are all the bikes they have on display or are there some in the back without a model on display? i want that 14 dollar bike >.
