TV Water Cooler

while i did dvr it and haven't gotten around to watching it, 3lbs premiered last night with lower first night numbers the show that it replaced in smith. Friday night lights continues to struggle. Last night winners/losers continues to be roughly the same, only with 3lbs being added to the losers tally.

In rookie shows, heros is number 1. Followed by shark, ugly betty, brothers and sisters, and 1 vs 100.

speaking of smith, you can watch the full episodes (up 'till number 7) on the cbs website. http://www.cbs.com/primetime/smith/

i haven't watched the unaired episodes yet, but i'm hoping they will conclude the last heist that was cut off so abruptly.

Yeah Justice is canned and NBC is going to redo their schedule for January to try and save Studio 60 and FNL. I doubt either will work.

unless there is some major changes, I doubt they can save studio 60. Friday night lights has excellent acting and story lines/writting on the show. I hope the move to sunday helps.

Link about Justice, as I've seen nothing that says its canned, only off until the end of sweeps.
Justice is dead, live with it.

Both.... http://www.tvsquad.com/ and..... http://www.tvtracker.com/daily_ratings.php have said so many times, along with EVERYONE else but you.

'Til Death has gotten a full season and same with Standoff, well 19 episodes but close enough.
No need to be an asshole about it.

And unless benched and most likely to be cancelled means canned now, its still got life.

So unless you've got a direct link for me that says Fox has cancelled Justice, no need to be a prick.

Edit: Some articles say it should be cancelled, not that it has.

Only problem with Fox is that one minute a show seems to be taking off and then the next thing you know its gone. I think Stacked is a perfect example of this. I wasn't a fan but the ratings were really good at the beginning, it got picked up for an entire season, and then it quietly ended.

i can't believe till death got a full season. I watched 2 episodes, and it was horrible...

Day Break was somewhat interesting. I really didn't like taye diggs as an actor on it though. It looked like he was struggling with acting abilities.

Live with it.

Said sooooooo many times, but yet its alive and coming back. Sure Friday's aren't the best, but its coming back and Vanished is vanishing.

I'm living fine with it because I knew for months Vanished was done for and that Justice is done too, move it all they want, it's dead.
I'm living fine with it because I knew for months Vanished was done for and that Justice is done too, move it all they want, it's dead.
It was just funny how you swore up and down that it was dead, when no one had reported it cancelled. Sure its on its last leg and will ultimately die out with the move to Friday, but its still hanging on to a slight bit of life.
No it's dead and Fox just hasn't come out and said it yet.
If it were dead, there'd be no more new episodes. It will die on Fridays, but its not dead yet.

But time to be civil with you.

Heroes Monday night, must watch by everyone.

It's dead. The reason it has new episodes is because it's in a contract. Kidnapped was the first dead show and they still showed a few new ones.

I have no idea on justice, but its numbers weren't great considering the amount of money they had to pay the cast. But friday night isn't a dead night anymore. Close to home got moved there last fall, and was allegedly on the verge of being cut. It enjoyed sucess on friday, and las vegas and ghost whisper are doing well there as well.

I hope 30 Rock makes it. It's really funny and there is a lot of subtle humor going on. Tina Fey is great. Also, Veronica Mars better last at least until the end of this season and hopefully well beyond. One of the best shows on TV by miles.
wow 20 good years didn't last long, did they even do more then 2 or 3 episodes
I didn't see more than 3. That was enough though... too many gay undertones and that doees not a good show make.

P.S. Daybreak definitely is good. Think 24 meets Tru Calling and/or Groundhog Day.
30 rocks news isn't good, here is the full list of the rookie shows from tvtracker.com
It just switched to a new night,. I'm a faithful viewer of the 30 rock I didn't know it moved to Thursday until Fey mentioned on The Daily Show. You always lose viewers when switching to another night. I hope 30 rock keeps going its a really funny show IMO.

I'll never understand how Smith gets canceled, but Standoff gets to keep going and orders 6 more episodes.
-Jericho (Wed. 8 p.m.): full season renewal; heading to hiatus until February.
I like(d) Jericho it started strong with them trying to figure out whats going on. But now its like, the world is dead lets act normal. Why aren't the trying to figure more out. I understand the hiatus they really need to figure out wtf is going to happen. Its like the writers ran out of ideas. So they keep giving us filler episodes, until the figure out whats going on.
I didn't see more than 3. That was enough though... too many gay undertones and that doees not a good show make.
Will and Grace was on 8 years and that was 3-4 too many.

And 30 Rock isn't doing well. NBC ordered 3 more scripts and then another 3 more scripts. Oddly they did not just order 9 more scripts for a full season. i think it's a bad show, but whatever. I can't stand Tracey Morgan's charater.

ABC Pulls The Nine:
ABC has removed low-rated freshman Wednesday drama The Nine from the schedule. A midweek edition of 20/20 will air in its place this week.

We're Off to See the Wizard on Sci Fi:
Sci Fi Channel will re-team with RHI Entertainment for a six-hour remake of The Wizard of Oz, tentatively titled Tin Man. Production on this sci-fi oriented miniseries is slated to begin in early 2007, with an estimated premiere date in December 2007.

from http://www.tvtracker.com/daily_ratings.php

too bad about the nine, another slighly above avg show that didn't take off. Very interesting storyline, but I would think it was tough to pick up if you didn't watch it from the begining.

I can't wait for Prison Break tonight. I'm really gonna miss it. Are they going to air re-runs or is it just going to be off completely until whenever it starts back up? and when will it start again?

i don't know what they will do in prison breaks timeslot, last year they had 24 in the same time period, so when it went off air, there were very little repeats. I would imagine we shall see some holiday specials and a few reruns

Cue Nanny 911 :puke:

I was thinking the total opposite--I'm really enjoying Taye Diggs in this role and in general loving Day Break. Of course, maybe I'm more than happy with his performance because i originally thought the actor in the show would be Tyresse. Eesh!

I haven't seen the 2nd episode yet. I was out of town from wend untill last night. Hopefully he got better

Compared to the same time slot as king of queens last year, How I Met Your Mother is down a lot.

(a considerable drop from the 8.6/13 for former occupant King of Queens on the year-ago Monday). The class isn't helping as they came in 4th in the time slot.

Sunset strip, which imo had a decent episode, dropped below 6 with a 5.9/9. Retention out of hero's for sunset strip is 56%

http://www.tvtracker.com/daily_ratings.php

daybreak is only pulling in about 5.07 million viewers, about 10 million short of what lost was pulling in, not looking good for taye diggs

Medium's return ain't helping their numbers either. I know I can't dvr it. (Medium/Criminal Minds)
So Veronica Mars is still doing bad? :(

I guess there might be no season 4 then.
sounds right, they only are getting roughly 16 or 17 episodes for this season
sounds right, they only are getting roughly 16 or 17 episodes for this season
I'll be so pissed if Veronica Mars doesn't get a 4th season. What other shows does the CW have? Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven have to be nearing the end soon and Smallville has been around a while. You would think that they would want a somewhat hip/edgy show that's well written and in it's prime to stick around. How do they ever hope to compete with the big boys?

Is the 16-17 episodes the confirmed final amount or just the amount ordered by the network so far and they still have the opportunity to get 5-6 more to finish out the season? Seasons 1 and 2 had 22 episodes and the story arc needed all of them to wrap everything up.

they also have supernatural...and veronica mars isn't pulling in the audience. They even have gilmore girls on before it, which I believe is one of the top shows on the cw according to the stuff I read on tvguide about it., and they loose almost 50% of the viewership. Shit, IIRC, battlestar galatica has higher numbers then veronica mars.

Actually veronica mars this week garnered its second largest audience to-date (3.4 million). According to www.tvtracker.com this can somewhat be attributed to gilmores girls highest ratings in the leading in hour.

Well, at least they got a decent audience this week. Hopefully they can pull their heads out of their asses and order more scripts and pick it up for season 4.

it won't be getting more scripts, on tvguide podcast last week, they talked about the writters/producers trying to finish 2 story arcs in the alloted episodes.
