Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - OUT NOW - Trophy Patch Released!

I think this game is going to be overlooked actually.

Day before yesterday at GS I was talking to one of the employees and the Uncharted trailer was playing on the TV. I told him I'm excited to play it and he said "why?"
I still say this game is GOTY.

Like the REAL GOTY. Not the HALO 3 WINS! Goty...
Ehh, it's going to be hard to beat Bioshock, God of War II and Super Mario Galaxy.

That dude must not game much

Actually, they're saying the game will likely take 10-13 hours for a normal player.

Keep in mind that those reviewers are very hardcore gamers that power through any games they review. They won't explore much, won't really stop to take a look at the scenery, or otherwise really enjoy the game as much as someone who bought it.

Plus the game has a lot of hidden things to find, which may or may not increase replayability for some. I know I don't really go through games finding collectables, but I know many do.

and we're less hardcore? no offense, but if a reviewer states 8 hours, it usually takes me at least 7. It'll be a weekend fling for me unless its so good I'll just go ahead and buy it.

Yea...

I think it will be GOTY in my head then...
I can't belive GoW2 came out this year, felt like it released years ago.

Eurogamer - 9/10

"By starting with a great control and camera system, building on that with excellent combat and a wonderful spin on Ico's platform adventuring, and then topping it off with a decent storyline, Naughty Dog has cooked up one of the most relentlessly entertaining, fat-free games to emerge in ages. Topped off with the most stunning use of the PS3's underused technical prowess yet, Uncharted: Drake's Progress is the first must-have PlayStation 3 title."
Yeah, I'm surprised to see that, after Eurogamer gave Resistance a six. :whistle2:(
Oh, get off it. One review of one game does not dictate every other review of every other game.

From the Eurogamer reviewer
"Of course, it's all blind speculation to say this or that couldn't be done on another system, but I did say it "makes me wonder" rather than a statement of fact.I await a 360 game to appear that looks as good as this, basically. They just upped the ante."

Fuel on the fire.

You know the fact that they did this stage in a jungle shows how confident they are in regards to the game's graphics. Because a living breathing forest is much harder to replicate than a city, or some ruins, or caves. The gameplay [from what I played in the demo] is top notch. Plus the enemy A.I. made the game challenging. Mario Galaxy didn't really bring nothing new to the table... its the same old Mario 64, in new stages, with the new abilities. This game took what was great about Tomb Raider, and Gears of War and made it work well together. Who says an action adventure, can't have a great shooter component.

Oh yeah, game wins for Best - "Got shot with Shotgun Physics" Everyone needs to shoot someone [in this game] with a shotgun! I made someone flip! lol

Doesn't it? But yeah, the game out March of 07, and is still GOTY in my mind, problem is games released at the beginning of the year have a less of a chance to win IMO. Ratchet and Clank is a close 2nd though.

Are there any preorder gifts at game crazy or game stop?
I saw this Press Collector's Edition

He actually looks like former head of Naughty Dog Jason Rubin:

Looks like they scored both Resistance and Uncharted correctly. ;)

I am SUPER stoked for this game. Ratchet and Uncharted are likely going to be 2 of my 5 favorite games of the year.

November has been a great month so far with CoD4 & Assassin's Creed already. And no with Uncharted and Rock Band, I can't describe how I feel in words.

Can't wait for uncharted.

Screw EGM/1up for giving it an 8.5. They've just been handing out the mediocre reviews recently...

Assassins Creed, Uncharted, Crysis....

This holiday is really making me fucking hate reviewers.

I wish there wasn't any reviewers. Or I wish everyone didn't take them so seriously...

It's like WATAF!? People never listen to Movie critics but people take game reviewers advice like a religion.

So it's pretty much confirmed this game will get a 7.0 from Gamespot because it lacks an identity because its a platformer/shooter/adventure game and doesn't do anything new.

I feel sorry for anyone who cares what a game reviewer has to say, its someones opinion, its not the final last say on a game.

I don't really care, but it is still kind of annoying with the way reviews have been going for games so far, especially Assassins Creed.

Game reviews should not be taken very likely.

When you watch a movie, you have the same experience as everyone else, maybe different emoitionally but the same experience.

When you play a game, you play it like you want to play it. You choose what you want to do, so it's kind of impossible reviewing a game like Assassins Creed or oblivion, because it's so dependant on the players actions and feeling towards the game.

I always act like a bad ass assassin and do things that are unnecasary but I do them anyways because its what a bad ass assassin would do. And I always try to make everything look cool.

A reviewer could simply be like, "I just want to get through the game" and not even care about that so he would see the game totally different then me.

Reviewers are dumb.

Yah I don't get it either man. The only think I like from reviews is to find out of their are big issues that games have I need to know about (framerate drops and so on).

Beyond that, I find that different people like different kind of games so who cares if ONE guy says a game stinks. I might like it.

These reviewers have their own agendas about what they want to do well. I think they want to score some games low maybe because their particular companies didn't pay them to give it a high review. Unfortunately, reviewers have a big time say so on the market because a good or bad review can have a direct effect on games. Then on some bad games, they hold the review for a couple of days before posting it. You have to trust your instincts, like we used to back in the day before reviewers. They give Mario 90s 100s, basically before the game even comes out. - to satisfy the fans.. I know reviewers want some credibility but all this... the game doesn't have an identity, and the frame rate stuttered here and there... I mean the point of a game is to be fun. If I like a game, I'm going to get it.

I asked a couple of different GS stores about the uncharted release date and they all said it should be in store today. I'll pop by during lunch, and if it's in stock, I'm putting the rest of my store credit into it.

I went to GS myself and they had it:

Shockingly, the employee there was very informed when someone wanted to buy a PS3 (told him that if you want the best BC, buy a 60GB).

Just got my copy. I'll be playing this a lot this weekend. Can't wait to get home. My pre-order copy was literally the last copy in the store.

No luck getting a copy during my noon GS peek--the guy even said "Monday". I may pop by a different GS later, though, as shipments are sometimes later in the afternoon.

Just picked it up, and about to start playing. One GS in my area said it wasn't out until the 20th, but the other one said they had 3 copies. So, call around!

I've played about an hour. So far, it seems like a VERY pretty Tomb Raider. I'm slightly disappointed the framerate isn't a solid 30 fps; instead it often seems to move at around 25-27 fps. Naughty Dog usually has impeccable engines. Still, the visuals are amazing.
