Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - OUT NOW - Trophy Patch Released!

Just picked up my pre-order...didnt get a phone call telling me it was in, so I'm glad I saw this thread.

I haven't really noticed any bad framerates. Then again, I'm pretty engrossed in the game, so I'm not paying attention to tech stuff (other than how beautiful everything looks). I've actually found myself laughing out loud at a few parts, like when they're getting into the jeep after escaping the British guy (forget his name).

Odd that sometimes Nate has a clean shirt, other times a dirty one. Have you noticed that when he walks, the folds on the back of his shirt change? That's a pretty neat effect.
 
Just got to chapter 4 (where the demo started)...absolutely love the game.

Its part Indiana Jones, part Tomb Raider...the storytelling is fantastic, graphics are top notch, sound/music is right on...I dont have anything bad to say about it so far other than the main character looks like Nick Lachey.

After that. In particular, it's the
courtyard area just past the jail cells, where there's a guy on a turret up above while several pirates are advancing towards you. Had plenty of grenades tossed my way that kept me on my toes along with having that turret dictating the pacing of my attack.

Ah, yes. Okay, that's exactly where I just shut off the game! Tried it about 4 times, kept getting owned. It's possible that I'm just too tired (it is 9am) from working last night and not sleeping yet. I will give it another go later today.

How many chapters are in this game, anyway? I'm hoping it's not over too soon.

You just have to pace yourself and make good shots.

Not sure how many chapters, but at the beginning of chapter 8, I'm at 47% done. Check your save file in the save folder to see some stats on the game.

If this is a consistent problem in the game, I may have to skip this title. I am a self-proclaimed frame rate whore. Sub-30 is very bad news.

While the framerate is never bad; it's just slightly below 30 fps, which slightly diminishes the power of some of amazing geometry.

My other complaint is when control is taken away from the player; there are too many cinematics when I just want to play the game. Maybe Bioshock spoiled me.
 
Can't say I'm a framerate whore, but the game runs smooth as buttah for me.

There aren't many cinematics at all after you get past the first few chapters.

Anyway, I'm just going to say OMG after playing it. I'm completely speechless right now, over how amazing this game is. I can't wait to play more.

First impressions...this game is sick. I love it. Played over an hour. The story is really interesting. The details are just amazing. Water drips off the characters in the cutscenes...just so awsome.

How are people doing on treasures/medals? I got 6 treasures so far and I'm in chapter 4, when your plane goes down. I'm at the 2nd shootout, in the larger area.
 
This game is awesome. Everytime I sit down to play it I plan to play for only an hour or so, and I end up playing for hours. It's just so freakin polished. And I love Elena!

Gamestop and EB games broke the street date. Sony has officially stated it's the 19th. My target got some in today but we couldn't sell them.

The Fry's I went to today was already selling it. They had a ton of copies but they were flying off the shelves. I was surprised as well as others.

Great game, but Ive got somuch to play.. and with TC4 coming out next week.. Doubtfull ill get around to playing more than 8 chapters of Drakes..
 
I love the characters, they're archetypal, but not stereotypical if you understand what those mean.

Elena isn't the stereotypical video game woman. She's smart and tough, but not some overly sassy caricature. She's a career woman with a purpose. I like how she comes across as being able to handle herself, without going into those annoying stereotypes of the brutish, gung ho video game female.

Same for Nate and Sully, they both follow archetypes pretty closely. But have enough life to them that they have their own personality.

Oh, and the acting, wow, kudos to the whole acting team on this one. If this was a movie, it'd be on the level of Pirates 1 in terms of acting, better than just your average summer blockbuster. I love the making of videos that show the cutscenes being made.

I'm all for digital actors, but not for everything. Still, for productions where the character models are so complex, digital actors with mocap is a good way to go.

Thanks for the heads up OP! I saw this thread early this morning and almost ran to Walmart then just to check lol. Just got back from Gamestop and they had "a pile of them" when I asked the guy if they had it. Gotta finish up Call Of Duty 4 and then gonna jump into this. Enjoyed the demo enough to bump back Mario Galaxy on my playlist. ;) Plus I figure this will be shorter than Mario sooooo. Tis a great season to be a gamer!:bouncy:

Drake destroys those games with polish, gameplay, presentation, graphics. Its a fucking amazing game.

My copy if up for sale if anyone wants it. 51 shipped.

I just completed this game, and all I have to say is WOW!! It has been a really long time since I got a game like this that I could just not put down. The graphics and gameplay are awesome on this game. I will probably start it on a harder level tonight. It took me just under 12 hours to finish on easy. This is a must have!!!

I just got done with chapter 8 and I think this may be my favorite single-player game of all time. Better than Resident Evil 4.

Took me around 12 on Hard.. and I only got 18 out of the 60 treasures and 390 out of 1000 medal reward points.

If I had taken the time to find all of the treasures and get more medal points, it could have taken me a lot longer.

I'll definitely be playing through at least one more time, if not two, but I'm waiting until I have my dual shock 3 to do it :)

Sounds like they made it about an hour into the game and then wrote a review... I only played for a lttle over an hour on normal difficulty and i'm up to the level from the demo. Very fun so far and looks great on my standard tv I wish I had a HDTV right now or I could play my PS3 on my computer monitor like I do my 360... Oh well i'll just replay this after I get my HDTV in a few weeks.
