Now that's just lazy, post the blocks for VC games as well.
:headache:
Do you want the butt secks smiley again????? :nottalking:
I demand links. This is not in a "fuckyouIDONTBELIEVEIT" way, but more in a "I'm already frustrated enough with the way the VC has been handled, especially when there's dozens of games I fucking want" way.

I know someone mentioned it recently, but damn do I want Pilotwings 64. That really was a masterpiece of a game.
God damnit Strell, you made me think of how bad I want this game as well .

I myself am also pissed and really want to hear news of this VC news.

Pilotwings 64 was incredible for a variety of the reasons - the sheer amount of things to do, the incredible music, and the still-look-good graphics (the draw-in distance was INSANE...I'm always boggled about how Mario 64 and PW64 had the most draw-in of seemingly all the N64 games, even though they were launch titles).

My buddies and I used to play it for hours into the night, when generally we'd become obsessed with some incredibly stupid thing to try. For example, we did the cannon game over and over, until we figured out the precise moment and trajectory to fire such that we hit the moving speedboat in the water.

Good times.

I never got to the end of Pilotwings 64, but I wonder if it had a final mission similar to the original Pilotwings where you go on a violent rescue mission. To me, that seemed to ruin the zen, laid back feel of the SNES classic. Of course, Pilotwings 64 has a rocket launcher in the beginning if I remember correctly, so never mind.

Time to find my P64 cart...

I absolutely love pilotwings Snes ( cartridge is sitting in my snes right now!), and I'd love to try the n64 version.
Just curious, what games have I influenced on you?
I wasnt really that interested in wiiware, and the only game I planned to pick up was Lostwinds. Of course, you recommended MLAAC ( awesome game, well worth it, thanks! ) and Pop will definitely be downloaded as soon as Europe gets it. Dr. Mario had to be bought because you had it.
Now that's just lazy, post the blocks for VC games as well.
Thats not really necessary. Most games for each system have a general range they fall into, with an odd big one every now and then. WW would be most helpful. Either way this is really just helping the Homebrew Buccaneers anyway. We should have a Captain Morgan pose off.
The ONE thing that puts Toki Tori at a question for $10 is because of NO save files. :bomb:
Do you mean that you can't save your game progress? Or just that there is not more than one save file?
There is a rumor going around that VC is getting ready to "wind down".
I swear to God, if this is true then I'm turning my Wii into a pirating machine. I do really like some Wii games (Wii Sports is fun and RE:4 is the definitive version of one of my favorite games) but 90% of the reason I bought it was to play old games in 480p glory (and without hauling out the original systems/carts). If I have to resort to sketchy means to do so, I'll stop buying points and start reading FAQs.
There is a rumor going around that VC is getting ready to "wind down".
Got proof?

Given the number of unreleased titles, I'm not sure I buy that. I can understand Nintendo wanting to reserve some material to release down the road, but I don't think it's time for that yet. We still don't have all of the Mario titles. We don't have all of the Zelda games. We don't have all of the Kirby games. A few series, like Pilotwings, have been completely neglected. There are still plenty of third-party titles that could be released, provided the companies that own the rights are interested.

The VC doesn't even support all of the systems it theoretically could yet, either. There may not be overwhelming demand for Game Boy or Game Boy Color support, but there are a few titles like Link's Awakening and the Pokémon games that would make it worthwhile. Given that Nintendo has zero issue with people playing portable games on consoles (since we've seen two completely different devices for that), I see them turning to Game Boy games before they "wind down" the Virtual Console.

I'd be willing to bet the rumor's based off of the fact that the release calendar has slowed recently, but I don't see it winding down any more than this in the near future.
Do you mean that you can't save your game progress? Or just that there is not more than one save file?
I'm pretty sure it's only got one save file, but I haven't bought the game yet. Unless they decided to go back to the password system, you need to be able to save a game like that.

Hmm so what kind of crap do you think will come out this week? My guess is one shitty Wiiware game and thats it so I can continue to be pissed at Nintendo, lol.

We've still got some good WiiWare titles to see, like World of Goo and (theoretically) Pokémon Ranch.
Tetris DS...8 player wifi
no lie :)
I hate how expensive the game is. By the time I got a DS, it was already going for $50+ on eBay.

Seriously, why the fuck would you do a short print run for Tetris? Hasn't it proven its popularity by now?

I'm a few levels away from completeting stage 2 (Creepy Castle) in Toki Tori. The music is so bad ass in the castle. As you play this game, you scan the area and it just starts to make you THINK like the game..and I was able to get a few levels done easy because I was thinking like the game
Yeah we get it, lilboo.

Working a bit hard for that commission don't you think?
Because near the time of Tetris DS shipping, Nintendo lost/sold the license to Hudson.

Toki tori was the best thing to hit the VC since Lords of Thunder.
Would love some starwars games, but Lucas is a turd.

Who's to say it won't happen eventually? They've got a lot of potential content for the Virtual Console.
Because near the time of Tetris DS shipping, Nintendo lost/sold the license to Hudson.
That sucks. There are a few copies on Amazon that are CART ONLY for $40, so I'll have to content myself with the WiiWare version.

I enjoy Toki Tori, but I'm not sure if I want to spend $10 on a remake. I recently played some of the GBC version so I could get excited for this one, but I didn't realize it was a remake. Now that I know the first three world's puzzles, there's really no point in buying it again so soon.

I got Toki Tori but I made the mistake to also get My Life As a King at the same time...so lets just say I have not had a chance to really play but a few levels of Toki Tori.

As much as I like Tetris, the last thing I need is another version of Tetris.

I'm really holding on to my points and waiting for Bomberman and World of Goo.

I finally just beat LostWinds. 3 1/2 hours playtime, yet I've had it since day 1  I really liked it..but 3 1/2 hours for 1000 points IS really tough. The sequel needs more story, more enemies, more meat it to..and if they want to have us collect stuff that's cool but give us something. I only collected 20/24 of those things and since I know you get nothing, I'm not even going to bother.

290 blocks is a lot, so I'm sadly going to store this away .. Ugh.
With that in mind, I have to say Nintendo is doing a fine job with THEIR WiiWare games. See, I was reading the review on Magnetica that just came out in Europe..and I read that it's only 100 blocks. Dr Mario is 90. :applause:.. So why is it that the third parties are the ones givings us 200+ block games?! I can understand if Pokemon Ranch is a big title..but that's different.

Surprised we haven't heard even a rumour of what's coming tomorrow :(
My guess is on Pokemon Ranch or Magnetica (possibly both).

I'm going to hold off on Bomberman until we know what the differences between the WiiWare and retail versions are. Pricing is going to be the main factor, I think - even if the retail one has more single player content, the online play is the part I'm interested in, and if the retail version ships at more than $20 or $30, I'll probably wait until I can find it for a lower price.

I'm probably not going to get anything tomorrow unless the titles released are really good; I just got Geometry War Galaxies from Circuit City on clearance, so that's definitely my gaming budget for at least the next week or so. :)

Wow people are still optimistic about the virtual console. I lost all hope in that fucker about 2 months ago, lol. Anyway my guess is a crappy, obscure NES game and Major League Eating, or nothing at all, just so I can continue hating Nintendo.

Yeah if they want me to buy Lost Winds 2 it better be a longer game or have a lower price.

I'm kind of interested in Magnetica even though I already own Zuma on the 360. The Wiimote seems like it would be perfect for Magnetica.

Everyone needs every version of Tetris. I absolutely love my Tetris DS (although it's been really hard not to sell it for $80 a few times, but if the WiiWare execution is at all like Dr. Mario online, I will get it in a second. There's a pretty good chance I have sunk more money into Tetris than any other game "series".

I do want the other two games you mention too.

It's really odd not getting these updates on Friday anymore. I need to know if I can waste money on the weekend dammit.

Last I heard, the only main differences was that the console version would have a story mode (meh) and a few more online levels. Unless something drastically changes I have a feeling I'll be perfectly happy with the WiiWare version.

Tetris on the go is perfect, so I'm fairly happy with that. As far as having Tetris at home, it's either on the DS or the computer so I would feel like I was just throwing money at Nintendo if I were to buy it.
Does anyone like Bomberman story modes? I tend to ignore them.
Recent ones not so much, but I still enjoy slogging through Bomberman '93 (my first VC purchase!) and I LOVE Mega Bomberman on the Genesis's story mode. Bomberman Land for the DS's story mode was so dull.
Does anyone like Bomberman story modes? I tend to ignore them.
If the Single player mode for Super Bomberman 1-5 on the SNES count then yes.

Also I thought the story mode for Bomberman 64 2nd attack was actually not too bad.
I just mean recent games.
Everyone knows the whole point of Bomberman games is the battle mode. The single-player has always been weak, all the way back to the original. It comes down to "who would you rather get killed by?" - mindless computer creature, or human opponent. It's one of the few games where I would rather play with real, live people. In general, I detest real, live people.
