1. You assume everyone has been following this.
2. yes it is mew.
But they can't be transferred to a Diamond/Pearl game, right?
I wonder if there will be any special compatibility with Pokemon Ranch and the new DS Pokemon

Is it possible to "restart" pokemon ranch once you've started it?

Like if I set up ranch with my copy of pearl so that I can get mew and store away pokemon , then I decide to restart my pearl game , could I restart ranch so that I could get mew again for my new file?

Sigh, another week where my 3000 points get left untouched. I mean all I am asking for is ONE good RPG. I don't care what it is, if it is Mario RPG, Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, etc... If Nintendo gave me one of these games I would shut up and be happy with the VC. Since Nintendo are being dicks about this, well all I can do is complain (and I think 1 and 1/2 years is a reasonable amount of time to see one of these games) :bomb:

Oh and may I suggest the Sega Genesis Collection to you guys who want to try some Genesis games. Since it is $9.99 at EB if you have a PS2, it is worth it. There are a lot of not horrible but subpar games on the disc in my opinion and it is great to try them but not have to spend $8 on them.

You're whining to the wrong company about 2, possibly 3, of those games.

Earthbound's been rated so it's coming to the VC, Super Mario RPG just got released in japan after nintendo constantly saying it couldn't be done so there's hope for that, and Square won't release any of their RPG's on the VC from what I understand because they can "still pull profit" from them or something of the other.
Love pokemon ranch. What did everyone get offered tomorrow? She's offering to bring me a smeargle.
She offered me a blumpkin! I'm really hoping she'll bring me a tampoon too.

I wish there was a MAME section for the VC. Dig Dug isn't a great example, since it's not that great a game and is frustrating in any incarnation, but an arcade version would be so much better than any console port. I know all these games are already on various publisher collections, but I would totally buy Joust and Road Blasters (or whatever it was called).

"Pull profit," of course, meaning remake for the DS or PSP and charge $40 for it. If they released FFIV for the VC this summer, for instance, that could theoretically hurt the sales of its DS port.

I'm a bit torn on Pokémon Ranch; I'm tempted to get it because I think I'd actually enjoy playing around with it and my copy of Diamond at the same time (especially since I'm just starting Diamond), but I probably shouldn't spend the money.

Of course, "probably shouldn't" doesn't mean I won't...

Oh shit. There's an Arkanoid DS demo up!
It's the same demos from last week PLUS this!

I'm gettin Space Invaders anyway...but I hope they add that too!

Not to mention it has PS4, which is worth the $10 bones by it's loneself.
edit2: My mii just tried to go Brokeback Mountain on Zoidberg. He walked up dead behind him. leaned his head to the side and text read "Carlos is interested in Zoidberg". Add in the cowboy outfits and it's too much to be a conincidence.
You know, I sometimes wonder how many gamers seriously consider those games you listed as the games that should come out for the VC. Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound are the main ones I want, and since Nintendo seems to not want to get them, I'm considering executing the hack to get the Homebrew Channel. As much as I want to do it, I probably won't, as I want to give Nintendo the money/points when they do release the games, so they will be encouraged to bring other quality titles to the VC.

At least we have Wiiware, which is pretty great.
She offered me a blumpkin! I'm really hoping she'll bring me a tampoon too.
The Pokemon you get given at the ranch, the ones that aren't originally from your copy of Diamond/Pearl -- can you transfer those to your game cartridge? Or is Ranch really just a storage device?
I'm a bit torn on Pokémon Ranch; I'm tempted to get it because I think I'd actually enjoy playing around with it and my copy of Diamond at the same time (especially since I'm just starting Diamond), but I probably shouldn't spend the money.
When I first played Diamond, I put about 80 hours into it and was really, really enjoying it. I got to the point, however, that I always wanted to play my game near a strategy guide so I could look up Pokemon stats, and that just takes away from me being able to play the game everywhere. I'd like to start the game again a little more casually, and this Pokemon Ranch Wiiware is actually making me consider the game. It'd be a great reinforcer to continue the game and get new Pokemon. There's plenty of Pokemon I like the looks of that I don't want to battle with, so it'll be a great way to enjoy them anyway. I love the idea of being able to take pictures on the ranch too. Is it a pretty free camera?
Oh shit. There's an Arkanoid DS demo up!

I know what I'm downloading tonight. Really excited for this game. Don't know why, but Arkanoid is one of the only retro games (that have new installments/versions) that I still look into. It's just aged well and always works. Anyone play Break 'em All? That was a pretty solid game too. Loved the boss battles.
Can you copy the Pokemon Ranch data over to an SD card?
If you're talking about the save data I seriously doubt it, I doubt Nintendo wants other people to be able to download all of your Pokemon.
I hate not being able to add anymore pokemon till tomarow. THis is just like the PAL PARK thing all over again.
Consider it Nintendo's method of telling you to get off the couch and do other things once in a while?

What are your impressions of the game so far?

I went to Jack and the Box, does that count?

It's not really a game, beyond small rewards for bringing correct pokemon or uploading large amounts. There isn't actualy any real gameplay to do.That being said, it is cute. I left it on for about an hour, just watching what the pokemon do. I got kind of tired of wathcing Haley's Gyrados chase all the pokemon and the wii's though. Every now and then there are "cinematics" of the pokemon making a totem pole and then falling or all staring at the camera.

Well you can it says in the Operations Guide that you can pick up the pokemon and change the camera around after you unlock "free mode", just not sure how taht happens

I believe it's one of the things you unlock after getting the ranch up to a certain level.

Yeah, but I was hoping they might have neglected to do that.

After all of the hacked Pokémon being traded online with the DS games, I think Nintendo's going to try and keep a tighter lock on the franchise in an attempt to keep it limited to legitimately gained critters. I don't think it'll work, but it can't hurt to try.

I would really appreciate it if someone could confirm two things about pokemon ranch.

1: Deposited Pokemon can be sent back to D/P. (I can't imagine this another way, but haven't seen it posted anywhere online.)

2: Can pokemon traded for be transfered to D/P? Somebody try it please.

Thanks!

I know 1 is a definite yes (and I haven't bought the game yet); I'm assuming yes on 2 because the trade would make the Pokémon you receive yours, but I can't confirm it.

According to the Opereations Guide, all pokemon deposited can be withdrawn, except for those you trade to Haley. You can however get her pokemon she traded to you out.

So you can't withdraw the random pokemon she brings every day, only the ones you actually trade?
So you can't withdraw the random pokemon she brings every day, only the ones you actually trade?
I belive so. In the OG there is a big red * that says "You cannot withdraw Hayley's Pokemon" and i think they count as heres. But will check.

After remembering that I've been interested in this game since it was announced, I gave it and went for it. I've only put a few Pokémon in so far (mostly because I only have a few), but it's kind of cool seeing my Geodude bounce around and flatten whoever gets in his way, or seeing my Zubat take an Eevee for a ride. :)

I'm not sure if it's worth the $10 yet, but I figure that it ties into Diamond nicely, and it'll actually give me a reason to work on completing that Pokédex for once. It seems like the game's got an Animal Crossing-style relaxing vibe, and since I'm a big Animal Crossing fan, that's a good thing.

All of the WiiWare launch titles I wanted are out, so I think I'm going to take a break from buying anything for the next month or so. Pokémon Ranch was a bit of an impulse buy, so I think I'll just ignore the Wii Store for a few weeks.
So you can't withdraw the random pokemon she brings every day, only the ones you actually trade?
I think so.

I think I might get it just so I can get the Tangela, Lickitung, Vulpix and a couple others that I don't have. I have like 10 Mews, so I'm not worried about that.
Yea, I put in 20 pokemon erm...yesterday now...and then I unlocked free mode and the toy box thing as soon as it hit after midnight
argh i have 2 hours and 43 minutes till that. I caught the 3 pokemon they wanted me to get too.
Do the wanted Pokemon change everyday or will the 3 she wanted be there until I find them?
Seems like she just adds to the list after you give her one. I put in a Shellos and she wanted a Gabite now in addition to what she still wants
Do the wanted Pokemon change everyday or will the 3 she wanted be there until I find them?
I'm pretty sure they'll be there till you find them.

I found four today and got 3 new ones to find. She only asks you to find pokemon you don't own in your pokedex.

Stayed up to get free mode. Turned in the 3 wanted pokemon. DOn't think i actaully got anything for it. Using free mode I discovered if you do it right, you can start your own totem pole by placing pokemon on top of eachother. Or you can do what I did, by placing on a a rhyrohn and watch them go for a ride.

Oh and Delibird is fricking cute in this game.

My favorite in this game so far is Fecicle, but I am also partial to Diarrhenon. I really like the sound Sphinctee makes when it gets pushed to the top of the totem pole.

I think Pokemon might need it's own thread. I don't have a problem with the game, but I don't think I can help but come up with annoying Pokemon names when I read all the discussion in this thread.

Finally pokemon ranch is out too bad I have dail up so I can't really use wifi. =\

Hopefully my cousin who has good wifi will allow me to bring my wii over and download pokemon ranch and a few more VC games..

You can upload pictures of the pokemon ranch to the computer I don't have the game, but it sounds like if you put it on your sd card you can get them from it and it's already in JPG format so maybe we can make a seperate thread with pictures and talking about the pokemon wiiware..

I just tired the picture thing. It does come in JPG form. PIcs are 603X480, around 60 kb.

also I'm geting Eeeves tomarrow. Yay!

Edit: was able to trade my Skuntank for her Ponyta which came with a Passcho berry

I think one day I'm gonna be INSANE and just have a ranch of 1000 Bulbasaurs!!!!
I like this Ranch. It's pretty much exactly what I expected, therefore, I am content.

Meanwhile I'm STILL playing Toki Tori. Have you tried it yet? No? Well why the fuck not! Finish those games your playing and get to it. You'll love it! I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out a puzzle :headache:..but was well worth it

Toki Tori, the Zack and Wiki of 2008
Oh yeah, I went there.

Hate to just waltz in here but I can't remember the last time I spent more than 5 minutes on something game wise (when I got "stuck") and not resort to gamefaqs or the like. Maybe it's just me, but the frustration kills me! (then again, you make it sound worthwhile to figuring it out - I did enjoy Picross ds...:whistle2:|)

lilboo - I've been out of comission for various reasons for a few days, but I'll get Toki Tori in the next few days. Part of the problem is that my wife discovered Dr. Mario (not that I'm really complaining about that!).

Did you play Zack & Wiki? If you did, AND DIDN'T LOOK UP FAQS, it's just like that. You try the same shit over and over again, and then you realize "Why am I doing this?"..thus, you try other things..and sometimes it works!!

I think when you're given X amount of items to use, your supposed to end up using them all. 2 or 3 different ocasions I've had some items left..so I wonder if I was ghetto and did it some cheap way

That's ok. As long as you get it eventually! Toki Tori is a pretty decent game to play with someone else in the room. You can use the second remote to like.. point to shit but that's it. I've actually figured a few puzzles out because of help from the idiot :bouncy:

I like how people are apologizing to liboo for not downloading the game yet. :D

Me, I've started Pokemon Diamond because I want My Pokemon Ranch, and I know that that little Wiiware will just throw in a added bonus to playing Diamond.

I downloaded FFCC:MLAAK yesterady, although I'm thinking of going ahead and downloading Toki Tori and giving it a run. Toki Tori became more appealing to me when I read in Nintendo Power yesterday that the puzzles don't have time limits. I also realized yesterday I had 8000 Wii Points, so I figure I can spend a handful.

That right there is why I'm really liking it. A time limit would give it even MORE of a challenge, but sometimes I'm just sitting there staring at the screen for 10 minutes before I even make a move. I wouldn't mind if they had a separate time limit/time trial mode in the game. That'd be pretty awesome.
