I'm still calling your bluff, Nintendo.

fuckers.

Next week? Pah!
I owe you candy if you're right... but it will be Internet candy. The best Google Images can find, Bob. And in the unlikely event you're wrong, I want a video or at the very least an animation of you eating your words.

CAN WE BUILD IT? YES WE CAN!

You jerks aren't good enough for live video.

I will happily make some kind of animation. Probably one where I KILL YOU ALL. With Internet Candy.
Can't wait for Super Mario RPG to come out, then you bitches will stop bitching... for a day.
You really think it will last a full day?

I have a buddy of mine that offered to buy me any game on the VC/WW for my birthday (yesterday). Should I ask him for Toki Tori or Lost Winds? I tend to favor the games I can pick up and play for short peroids of time. I already have Dr. Mario, Pop and Block Breaker (he gifted that to me). I could in theory get any VC game I want, but there isn't anything jumping out at me that I have to have.
You really think it will last a full day?
I don't even think it will last beyond the annoucement.

"We have SMRPG... But, where's our Earthbound! Damn you, Nintendo for never giving us what we want!"

Sin and Punishment is fun but you'd look like an ass choosing the most expensive vc game ;)

Between Lost Winds and Toki Tori, I'll say Toki Tori (haven't played it myself but from word of mouth, and text on the internet, it's better overall).

Well I returned Super Mario 64 to him, so that was 1000 points...is S&P 1100? Does Toki Tori have a Lolo feel to it?

S&P is 1200
And YES, Toki Tori DOES have a Lolo feel AND a Zack & Wiki feel to it.
Very VERY good. Get it :applause:

Shut up Yukine.

Toki Tori is really good, you can pick it up and play for a short period of time or you can play for a hour or two. It has a lolo feel to it, but with the diversity of items of Zack and Wiki.
SquareEnix is a bunch of assfuckers that don't want to give us what we want!!!
Certain ... beaux may disagree.

Nope, nothing yet. Just remember that Japan always gets the marquee games first (In this case, SMRPG), so we're not getting SMRPG tomorrow. But if we do, I'm going to gift it to someone (Maybe here, maybe not).

The word I've heard (Remember, this is a rumor): King of the Monsters and Blaster Master

I'm not too sure about Blaster Master, but King of the Monsters seems likely given the string of NeoGeo titles.
I loved Blaster Master as a kid.

Story

Jason and Fred, from Blaster Master.

In Blaster Master (the localized version of Metafight), the player controls Jason Frudnick, a teenage boy who fell into a humongous underground cavern after chasing his pet frog, Fred, who has become enlarged, due to exposure to radiation. There, he discovers an all-terrain battle tank. This vehicle is designated SOPHIA (sometimes also referred to as Sofia), which stands for "Subatomic Omni-directional Probative Hyper-responsive Indomitable Abdicator (3rd Design) Nora MA-01". As he explores the underground world, he must find the underboss of each of the eight levels and destroy them. After he destroys each underboss, he is given an upgrade with which to enhance SOPHIA the 3rd. When he reaches the end, he discovers that the underbosses were controlled by the Plutonium Boss, a creature which was planning to invade the world above.
I loved the plot!

I don't think Super Mario RPG will not be released this week since Nintendo will assume that we'll be busy with Rock Band (Wii) and Guitar Hero World Tour (DS)...just my speculation but if SMRPG does come out, then I would be shocked like everyone else who keeps asking for it since day one.

P.S. Lilboo- Your avatar scares me....looks like a tweaked out Peg Bundy, lol

WII-KLY UPDATE: ONE WIIWARE GAME AND TWO VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

June 23, 2008

Everybody loves a classic battle between good and evil. With the latest additions to the Wii™ Shop Channel, your greatest challenge will be choosing where to wipe out the bad guys-in deep space, on mean city streets or in a monster-ridden fantasy world. Whatever the venue, be ready for outrageous enemies and memorable missions you'll relish from beginning to end.

Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii™ owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

WiiWare™

Gyrostarr™ (High Voltage Software, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Fantasy Violence, 700 Wii Points): Gyrostarr challenges you and up to three additional players to pilot your ships through a series of twisting, turning technoplasma tracks while battling a variety of deadly alien foes at ever-increasing speeds. While fighting and maneuvering, you must collect enough energy to activate the ancient warpgate at the end of each track. Succeed, and you can journey to the next, even deadlier track. Fail, and the gate will slam shut, destroying your ship. Enhance your ship with weapon pickups, coordinate attacks with your friends to fire powerful combined blasts and use your grapple to snag energy and pickups in the midst of combat. Control your ship with the Wii Remote™ controller, Nunchuk™ controller or Classic Controller™, or use the "paired" control system that allows two players to use a connected Wii Remote and Nunchuk or Classic Controller at the same time. Offering 50 levels of intense action, powerful pickups, high-speed bonus levels and mayhem for up to four players, Gyrostarr is a killer arcade challenge.

Virtual Console™

Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Sega Master System, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone-Comic Mischief, 500 Wii Points): In this platformer from the 1980s, you're Alex Kidd, looking for your lost brother Egle. In order to find your brother, you'll have to contend with the evil Janken the Great, who will send his henchmen and monsters at you to thwart your progress. One aspect of this adventure is that you'll have to play the classic game of "rock, paper, scissors" against the henchmen in order to defeat them. With 16 different levels to conquer in order to save Egle, this classic is sure to test your skills and your wits at the same time.

BURNING FIGHT (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older-Mild Suggestive Themes, Violence, 900 Wii Points): Released in 1991 by SNK, BURNING FIGHT is a side-scrolling hand-to-hand-combat action game. In pursuit of Casterora, leader of a huge syndicate that has escaped from New York to Osaka, the protagonists are three detectives: Duke, Ryu and Billy. Each character fights using a combination of punches, kicks and jumps, plus his own particular special move, activated by simultaneously pressing the jump and attack buttons. These lethal techniques have enormous destructive force, but they also consume a great deal of energy. For this reason, players must use their special moves with skillful timing. Luckily for the detectives, new weapons and additional health can be found by breaking things like phone booths and street signs along the way. A boss, who must be defeated in order to continue the mission, awaits players at the end of each stage. You can also take on the gang with a friend, but beware-attacks by one player can damage the other, so keep an eye on where your partner is in the heat of the battle. End Casterora's reign of terror once and for all.

Time for work. SEE YA'LL LATER!
Alex Kidd is totally worth it. I might have to get that right away.
Apparently, this Alex Kidd is WAY better than the one for Genesis. IGN Retro (which gave the Genesis version a 4.5) scored this Sega Master System a very nice 9.0 and they call it the best game on Master System.

I'd like to play all 3 but I don't see how they justify the $10 price tag. I'd only pick up these games for under $5. Down to $2 or $3 is a good price point.

It was pretty close to the best game on the Master System. Off the top of my head I can't think of one I got more enjoyment out of. As devoted as I was to all the Master System games, I never played the Genesis one.

No one buy Burning Fight. You can get the same experience for free by punching yourself in the nuts.

However, Alex Kidd is great.

Yeah, I'm hoping we get some official download numbers for some of the WiiWare games at some point. Then we might be able to start making some extrapolations from Nintendo Channel data to get sales info. i.e. if the Nintendo Channel tells us that 1000 people downloaded Gyrostarr, but actual sales are 10000, then we can assume (very roughly) that Nintendo Channel numbers are 10% of actual.

Sweet, gotta download the contra 4 demo and buy Alex Kidd. I remember playing it at my friends for only 2 minutes and asking my parents if I could trade my nintendo in for a sega but it never happened.
So my roommate sends me this link, and I must say Nintendo has kept their promise in japan if this is right. I don't know how, but well Super Mario RPG is coming out in japan tomorrow.

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/vc/vc_smr/index.html

Now since Nintendo hates us in America that we wont see this game until oh probably 2010, if ever, lol.
Shit.

Doomed is going to have my pants.

If he wants them, I mean. Which I'm pretty sure he does.

That goes for the rest of you as well.

Got Gyrostarr.

I had 290 blocks open, and that's how many it needs! Joy. Went into the Nintendo Channel immediately after that I'll have you all know.

Game is pretty good. The single player is repetitive - you fly through a level, blasting enemies Tempest-meets-Fzero-style, collecting various power-ups and "energy."

The energy gets accumulated at the top. When you fly through the level, there's a bar at the top that shows your progress. As you collect energy, it fills up the bar. At roughly 80% of the level, if you've filled up the bar entirely, you can go to a bonus level/warp zone, which lets you fly through a level without enemies, where all you do is collect energy and bombs. The catch is that you move increasingly fast through the level, so it does get difficult to grab all the energy.

Rinse and repeat. No boss fights, and the only real variation are the types of enemies you'll find in the next level.

So it's not the best first player experience out there. It does look nice, and I'll probably play through the whole game. I would like to try out the multiplayer, since it actively encourages both co-op and competition at the same time.

I do think people should get it if they have the space and points, simply to support High Voltage Software, since those are the guys working on Conduit. They might end up being a potent devhouse.
the only new demo Europe has got needed since the debut of the nintendo channel was is ninja gaiden :)
Fixed!
Fixed!
whats that suppossed to mean? In all fairness, NG is actually really fun, and I may pick up the game soon
