Wipeout HD - Fury DLC Incoming

Fun games, thanks for hosting, SB. I think I would have been raking in the points if each race were just half a lap. :D

Hopefully they'll patch up the game soon so more people can join in.

Yeah good games. I'm still happy we all ended up being fairly even in skill. Provided some tight races.

Oh and freaky that one race where I won by 0.3 secs was luck. I stumbled upon a boost before the last corner and instead of taking it normally I boosted straight past it to the finish line.

The best feeling though is when you've been 2nd for most the race and right behind the leader thinking any moment now you'll get some rockets and then :twoguns:. 3rd place blows you up and 1st is off to the races.

Patch needs to be here yesterday.
 
I tried to get it in but couldnt.I stopped trying after 15 minutes.

Haha, I can imagine the feeling... I think that's happened to me 2-3 times just tonight. :lol:
 
There is a Wipeout HD update out, but Europe got it first. I heard the following news:
On the xmb if you press triangle on the wipeout icon to bring up the options there is an option that says Update History, in here it tells you what the update was for which is the 50 friends fix

It also says if you have had over 50 friends whilst playing Wipeout HD then your saved data could be currupt and to delete your saved game data once the update is complete, it wont affect trophies or online records but you will obviously have to unlock all ships and tracks again.

Noooo! It took me forever to get all the gold medals up to 'Speed Freak', I don't want to go through that futuristic racing hell again... :bomb:

I really hope my save does not end up getting corrupted if I choose to download the patch... :'(

EDIT: And OMG to SmogItUp and StrandedBrit having the same trophy count! :O

Yeah I don't know who's keepin up with who, but we've been pretty close tophywise from the start.

As for the save. If mine is corrupt I will wait. I'm a chunk of the way to the 100,000 loyalty points so if I have to it'll be after I get that trophy.

Alright freaky, I need to come up with a sweet nickname for you that emphasizes your crazy skills in Racing games.

As for trophies, it helps when you have all the same games ;). I've been the one playing catch-up, although I know it is a race I will never win:lol:

You might be ok, but that's a warning.

why update if it fixes a glitch that you don't have?.... meaning, I don't have 50 friends on my list so why would I update it.
 
Oh great. I don't think I am ever going to be able to progress to the Headrush races. There are too many races in Vertigo that I cannot beat or I cannot get a higher metal.

Why do they have to make the game so damn demanding to progress?

because it's more of a skill based racer. remember to use airbrakes. practice up.

I have been using airbrakes since I started playing. Oh and trust me, I have been practicing.

I used to have pilot assist on but recently I took it off because I heard it hampers your speed and acceleration. Then when I hit the track for a couple races in Warped that I needed gold on, I was able to get gold.

Once I start doing races in Frenzy or Vertigo where the class is Rapier, then I start having problems with pilot assist off. I usually use airbrake too much and slam into the wall when I am going at high speeds.

Oh and I don't have a problem with this game relying heavily on the skill of the player. I just question their need to lock races. If I cannot beat race X and I have been trying race X for a while now, then I want to try race Y, but I cannot try race Y because I need to beat race X. Can you see my dilemma?

Because there's no option to not update unless you don't care about playing the game while logged into PSN.

If I quit playing Burnout, I will have it soon :D I'm on the next to last event, but I could probably clear everything in an hour or two.
 
Ha. That reminds me I need to play this more.

You don't need golds to get the campaign skins, do you? Any medal will do?

I still need to win all the medals in the campaign, though I try to get all the gold ones before moving on to the next grid. :)
Oh, and I need to add 'Smack My Bitch Up' as part of my custom soundtrack; your 'Fat of the Land' user title thingy reminded me of this. ;)
 
I've got about 3 grids left to go. I've had to settle with some silvers and a couple bronzes, but I figure by the time I'm done with campaign it'll be easy to go back and pick up those golds. I'm scared that all the races are quickly turning into rapier-class, though. I think flash is the sweet spot for me.

There isn't a song on that album that wouldn't go great with Wipeout, but that one is pretty sweet.
