Wipeout HD - Fury DLC Incoming

Yeah I thought it would be impossible but managed to get through it. All I had to do was switch from the Icarus to a slower, better handling vehicle and they were all simple after that

does anyone else get (error 80022D11) when booting up the game? I get that, then it hangs on the "Autosave Information" screen
 
I don't think I can make it tonight, sadly. But I'll be there for the next one. Random unscheduled games like the other night are cool, too.

Word of advice: When starting a campaign tournament late on a work night, make sure it's four races and not secretly eight. :drool:
 
This will be my first game in like a month with a headset on! So hells yeah I'm gonna be there. :D

EDIT: Ehh! Having mic trouble in the lobby... I could hear you guys, but for the life of me can't figure out why you guys can't hear me. :'(

I'm in... who's hosting? If I wasn't on the lowest tier of road runner I'd offer. I barely stay connected most of the time though.
 
Man, talk about big curve when playing online. Getting 3rd place in the last race is a personal mark of pride after finishing 6th or 7th or the other two tournaments.

Not sure what you said Mana.. but I'm sure we all said it at one point with the mics off at one point or another ;)

The single races in Meltdown are so unbelievably not fun. I'm at a loss for an analogy that fully conveys how awful they are. And yet I'm so close to completing the campaign... seven medals to go!

Any recommendations for ships to use? I use either Assegai or Harimau for pre-phantom classes. For phantom I've been trying clunkier ships like Qirex but I haven't found one that really feels good yet.
 
I would recommend Feisar. The improved handling really helps once you get used to it.

Also, I thought the AI slowed down a little bit when I switched from Assegai to Feisar.
 
I've used Icarus since I unlocked it, mostly cos I realized if I was going to get the loyalty trophy this century I'd have to stick to 1 craft. Nasty beast, but when you get it right there's nothing that can stop you.

Also, I've cleared the first 3 tracks on phantom/elite. Crazy. I don't think I'll do all 16 as it's crazy. You pretty much have to do 5 perfect laps, not get hit and rape the rest of the field as much as you can. On the later tracks this will be impossible, seeing as I have this hate/hate relationship with sebanco climb.:cold:
 
I put a few hours into this game this morning. Playing online really didn't do it for me like Burnout and Warhawk does. I think that's because Mana is usually the only one talking
 
Got my campaign skins! \\:D/ After trying the Feisar and Icaras for a while, I switched back to Harimau and won the final tournament handily. I even wrecked at the very end of Sol 2 and still got a gold. :oops::D I guess by the time I reached the tournament I was more accustomed to phantom's speed. Still don't plan on playing faster than rapier again, though.

Time to go back and upgrade some medals...
 
Played an unhealthy amount of this today. :drool: I was ready to call it quits while trying to finish up Meltdown, but now that it's over with it's just great to knock the speed back down and enjoy zooming around without all this pressure to come in first. I've been trying to unlock more of the ship skins, so it's been fun trying out all the ones I usually skip over.

Had some good races with ohvermie, too, but we need more than 2-3 people! Looking forward to the next organized game.
 
Campaign skins just involve getting medals in every hex right?

I might be able to force myself through meltdown tonight, but LBP just came in the mail.... o_O
 
I got LBP from an eBay reseller, I'm guessing they shipped before news of recall even came out.

But if I need all golds, forget that noise, there's no way I can get gold on some of those time trials. Just a bit too inconsistent with my driving to pull out 4/5 perfect laps. :p

To get the campaign skins you just need a bronze in all cells. All golds is a different trophy.

All we need is 8 people with campaign skins so we can get the 'bling brigade trophy'.
 
I'm stuck now on the 5th cell. I got all medals, but I need 3 more points to advance to the next. There's too many Time Trials and Speed Laps that kill me.
