Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Drat, wasted a 1k bonus in the GTASC.  Wasn't sure if being up by about 250 TA in the last 90 minutes would hold, so I used a bonus.  Ended up 1,188 above the cutoff, so I would've been safe.  I at least qualified for the new bonus.  Would've felt safer if I had been able to finish Dear Esther, but a 17 hour work day from Monday into Tuesday threw me off completely and I wasn't able to finish a director commentary run last night.  Spending most of Sunday in Gears 4 wrapping up the active events there also cut into my achievement time.

This week - wrapping up Dear Esther, going through Gone Home and hopefully finishing the Master at Arms achievement in Gears 4 should keep me safe.

Made my first big Microsoft rewards cash in for a year of Gold with the current deal. I’ve been doing the math and once I can get a year of gold and a year of game pass for nothing but random searches now, with enough left over for a couple $10 gift cards

Yeah I saw that and was wondering as of why you did that, but when I looked up he leaderboard...I understood, better safe than sorry... I also earned the bonus this period. Probably will need them all later on lol... 500-600 TA wasn't enough anymore this time and I guess it will increase every week now...

As for Gears 4..got the Master at Arms achievement but didn't work through the cupid torque bow ones so I will still be missing one flaming skin even if the dropshot will finally be awarded from christmas...but I got the mdinight omen enforcher, and might ge tthe other weapon this week...was going for it anyway to finish my level 9 scout finally to pop that all classes at level 10 achievement.

Also Diablo 3 netted me some more achievements while playing with my friend. She's really into it, I'm glad she got an Xbone =D (even though her care for achievements hasn't grown yet =P )

Liked for the word "drat" didnt read after

Pink Phantom Gnasher and Hammerburst will be available in tonight's Gears live stream, scheduled to begin at 6pm Eastern.

Year of the Dog Longshot is the daily login reward.

I think it was All Star Baseball 2000 on the N64 where I was playing through a full season and the game stopped tracking RBIs at 255 for one of my players. Ah, the storage limits of the old days ...
I liked this for the 256 (0-255) bit limit throwback and for the fact that you said "Pink Phantom Gnasher" which sounds like a new high tech sex toy.

Rad Rogers looks pretty cool. Anyone pick it up? Ordered the physical copy (is it really a disc or a code in a box?) via Best Buy to save the 20%. But won’t get it until Friday.

Pink Phantom Gnasher, ribbed for her pleasure, is live.  Like that's important.

the gears stream chat auto mods skins as a bad word, you would think a loot box game all about skins would encourage discusiion of it instead of banning me for saying it

Thanks to the funds finally being deposited by MS I was able to get Agents of Mayhem and Mass Effect 2 today. Happy to have all the ME games digitally now. Also got X-Com2 last week, so I'm good for now game wise, I think. Not too bad a February, compared to last year at this time which was just a pure nightmare.

How long did you watch the stream with the chat up? The first few raffles they had, people spammed the hell out of "raffle" in the chat, so I'm not surprised they blocked that word. I switched away from the chat for a bit, but when I went back, I saw people complaining about not being able to post gnasher and I saw one of the mods say it was also being spammed.

I’ve noticed my green boot up screen is taking a very long time lately. Anyone else having this issue?

I’m almost done with my one year warranty so I’m curious if it’s just an update issue or should I be worried about my system.

Got sucked into watching the US Women’s Hockey team game as it went into overtime. And during the shootout, Charter broadcast an Emergency Broadcast System test just as the US was scoring the winning goal causing me to miss it. Urghhh!!! Guess that serves me right staying up until 2:15 on a worknight.

Oh well, great game!!!

That’s awful timing! I hope you got to see the goal at least. One of the best shootout moves I’ve ever seen. And yeah definitely not used to staying up until almost 3 am (had to watch the medal ceremony).

Did the same last night. Great game. Maddie Rooney was phenomenal.

On a gaming note, I was also wondering why dragon age 2 isn't bc yet? The other dragon age games are bc, and in the ea vault, but not 2. I was going to pick up a copy but if it goes bc it would likely end up in the ea access vault.

the best game gets better, Fortnite Season 3 has started. Alot of new stuff added. Highly recommend getting the battle pass if you play. It's only $10 and you can earn so much stuff and they even give you back your money in vbucks over the season.

https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/battle-pass

here are the things you get:

Why is Dragon Age 2 never on sale...
Debating if I should just get it on PS3 instead....
Does anything carry over?
There's a good chance that DA2 will be a GWG sometime this year. Dragon Age Origins was last year. Be patient.

I've enjoyed greatly what I've played. I think it was too much a departure from DA:O for the internet's taste.
I tend to remember feelings (how a game made me feel), rather than actual little details for games I played a long time ago. I remembered the main complaint of DA2 for me was the boredom and disappointment of going through the same areas over and over and over and over again. I thought everything else about the game was fine (story, gameplay, etc.). But having to trek through and fight in the same dungeons multiple times was ridiculous. It was a major cop out on their part for re-using so many locations. I remembered eye rolling a lot and sighing to myself "this again?!?!"

That said, we heard your feedback about the scale of the task we were putting forward. We thought we couldn't change it, but we found a way to do it safely (barely) without impacting the major process that is releasing an Update. As such, here's our hot of the press update:

  • Seriously Old School is now renamed to Slaying It
  • The achievement now requires 5000 kills, down from the previous 10,000
  • The achievement is not retroactive

This is our planned final achievement which is now definitively in lock down. We hope this feels like a better number of kills for those who felt it was too high. while also making sure those who want something new to aim for get their fix.

We appreciate all the feedback!
Welp....still not retroactive but at least only half the kills...still have to start at Zero again in Gears 4 hum. Since Botmatches count, it shouldn't take too long but I find this still annoying...if new content were added, it would be a little different...but it's grindy enough as it was imo.no comparison to the grind in gears 3 though.

It's funny that people request Dragon Age 2 to go on sale, when I remember at a point in time it used to go on sale every other week like the Battlefield games and we would joke about it always being on sale, for $5 or something stupidly cheap. I think I even bought it for the backlog even though I hadn't even started DA:O yet.

Dragon Age 2 gets shit on a lot online but I thought it was great.

Pretty sure I got Dragon Age 2 back in the day for a penny from that penny Amazon Warehouse deal.
I think I still have a $.27 PC copy in my trunk from Sears
I have it on PC, but I was curious if anything carries over and the gameplay seems way more suited to a console controller than on a PC.

I mentioned the game at work yesterday, and was told to NEVER play it.

It had been on sale a few times before the whole BWC craze started, since then it's never been on sale since, I know it's not BWC yet.

I also couldn't resist a digital mass effect collection and got 2, 3 and Andromeda. I try to justify it by telling myself its for a future where the license is more useful than the disc but I know some it is just me being lazy and not wanting to swap discs.

So I got Microsoft to refund Monster Hunter, I just couldn't get into it. I think the next step Microsoft should take in becoming a full fledged media center is either have trials for every game or some kind of rental service where you could try the game and if you want to buy it, discount the rental fee from it.
This. I don't understand why there are so few trials and demos available. Considering it's so hard to rent games without Blockbuster or Hollywood Video around (Redbox carries next to nothing and finding a box near you with a game they do carry that you want can be a drive, and last time I used Gamefly I'd wait months for games at the top of my queue to be available to ship) it's just stupid. I'd buy more games if I knew for a fact I'd enjoy playing them, and the only to know for sure is to actually play it. So I spend very little on games.

The Game Pass tab has shown up in my Games/App menu, every game that isn't installed is listed there as a separate 'ready to install' list. It's really simple and intuitive, I like it.
While I agree that's a good thing that has been a long time coming, I still find it incredibly stupid there isn't a section for DLC. That drives me insane. I have to go manage each individual game to see if I have DLC ready to download.

Just tried a hard reset on my S and the green boot screen only took a few seconds, so dunno why yours would take longer...
Last hard reset I did on my X took a good minute. I don't know if that's typical for the X, or if there should be a difference between models.

Get the state of Rhode Island to put a referendum on the ballot for this fall - should the Xbox 360 version of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning be made backward compatible on the Xbox One gaming system?

Funny all this discussion about Dragon Age 2. I'm working thru DA:O right now. I don't know why this game didn't click with me during the 360 era, but its pretty good stuff. Had the same thing happen with ME1. Played a bit in like, 2010, and couldn't be bothered, but played it last year and beat it, liked it a lot. Hoping DA2 goes BC. Don't know if my 360 could handle much more then me Turing it on to transfer saves...

I picked up unmechanical extended while on sale, it seems decent for the 2.50 price, all the achievements have non regular values so if you're like me its a forced commitment to get all 1k

How do I start a super pac to make this happen?

Completed in mechanical recently. The one achievement I had Tribble with was Nothing But Net. I misread ot and thought I had to fly for 3 seconds but the coal has to fly for three seconds. Took me like 20 tries. That and the one you have to do 4 loops. I kept getting 3 and then sputtering out.

Also I suck at float the object through the magnetic field. I'm not sure the physics of those magnetic fields is realistic.
