Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Think the packaging text is wrong? Kind of strange the case would also be for a single disc. Also surprised it would be two. I would think those games would not be huge.
The box clearly states "Includes a disc for each collection." People unboxing on social media have shown two discs.

Sounds like you have a production error. At least you can start playing while a replacement is sent your way.

Current internet theory is that they split the collections into two so they can fudge the numbers on the amount of collections sold, which will help push MMX9 into production. Instead of looking at 500K bundles sold, they can say the collections combined sold a million copies.

Probably. To complicate matters further, Amazon is only offering me a refund, not an exchange, when I use the auto return on the website. Currently chatting with CS to get them to hopefully fix it.

Been looking forward to this all week, I'm so very frustrated.

Yeah, hopefully you can get it ironed out to where you can play the first disc until the replacement gets there. But if you can't, at least you can do a refund and reorder. I can see where you'd be frustrated with something you've been highly anticipating getting messed up.

Finally got it approved. Replacement arrives on Thursday, but the return isn't due for 4 weeks.

Fired up the first collection (at least if i only got one disc, it's the good one!) and the presentation sure is nice. I've seen others elsewhere complain about input lag - there is the tiniest bit unless all filters are off, but no filters on 1080p looks like crap. It may be because I've beaten the original MMX more times than I can count, but it's not really bothering me since I know the game so well.

Any idea if there's a mixer $5 back thing for the Destiny 2 bundle? Looking over the sale again and that seems like the only thing I'd really consider buying.

According to TA, the servers for Sword Coast Legends will be closing tomorrow.  Actually, the note mentions specifically "Sword Coast Legends Achievements" will be closed on 7/25.  I have this game but I haven't played it yet.  For anyone that DOES play it - will this make the game unplayable?

I don't play it myself either but my True Achievement friends have been mad scrambling the last week trying to get it finished, I think this is a death sentence like Marvel Heroes

I own it but never played it yet. Does it just mean the achievements/online portion will be unattainable/unavailable, which I really don't care about. Or the single player game itself will be unplayable?

That's some shady shit right there.

Sounds like one of my USPS carriers. When there are too many small packages to fit in my mailbox, he uses an excuse like "undeliverable as addressed" or something like that to avoid getting out of the vehicle and putting it on my porch. They are always there in the mailbox the next day, address intact from the sender. :twoguns:

Maybe the BC Team was aware of the issues the SH Collection had on 360 and perhaps they managed to "fix" it to some degree now that is BC? Unrealistic?
Bill Stillwell - BackCompat's head honcho - on the HD Collection, via Reddit:

"I know the 360 version had a reputation, but like many games in the BC program, on Xbox One the performance envelope is different. So if you have it, worth at least booting it up and giving it a shot, see what you think of the game now.
I'm not making a statement here or anything, just curious to see what people who own it think after actually playing it on X1 via BC"
"Not saying it's now a magically perfect experience, just suggesting that some of the 360 issues may no longer be issues."

Soooo my Mega Man X collection just arrived, and there's only one disc with the first collection. Packaging states there's supposed to be two discs, but the case is a single disc case. Not happy.
I got two disc plastered on top of each other.

Why this collection needed to be separated is beyond my understanding.
I got the PS4 version from Gamestop and the case has one disc on the right and one disc on the left. That sucks to hear people are missing a disc.

I went ahead and bought the hd Collection of silent hill I’ll sell my original greatest hits copy with the extra stuff maybe

I heard there was no local co-op in the Xb1 versions of MUA. So I steered clear at the last minute. Can anyone confirm or deny?
You can co op but its a major pain in the ass to do. You have to have the other person have an account. You can't do it with a guest account. You have go in like an online game go to a portal go to team click on add player. Then they login. Once you do it rhis way it drops your team from 4 down to 2 making the game much harder.

A little bit of googling shows that the offline single player content will still be available, but as of 10 AM ET tomorrow morning all online portions, including saves and achievements, will no longer be available.

Thanks for the info! With that knowledge, I may pick it up should it go on sale again.

Cool, Thank You. I'd never use any of the online stuff anyway, and achievements don't matter to me. Just glad my money wasn't wasted on a game I'd never get to play.

This is the 2nd of a few that will be going out over the next couple days  :)

I've enjoyed what little I've played, which is only a handful of hours. I've never had issues finding a game, though admittedly the teams end up lopsided more often than they should be, at least in Starfighter mode or whatever they call it. Always nice to be on the team with more players. As for price, I got it for $4.50 late last year so I feel like I've already got my money's worth. I don't have EA Access, but I've been considering it just so I can play the first Titanfall with my girlfriend. I ended up buying the disc years ago when it was dirt cheap long before I had a console to play it on. Since the digital version is probably never going on sale again ([t's $20) I may as well spend $10 more for a year of EA Access so I can play it and some of the other games I don't already own. So if I wait until BF II hits the vault, I'll have more reason to get EA Access.

Speaking of EA Access, is it ever on sale through MS? Or is it only on sale from third party sites? I've got credit I'd prefer to spend.
I’ve had EA Access for two years and I think it’s well worth it. Considering how cheap it is for the amount of games that are free with it, it’s a steal. I have been able to try games I was skeptical about but ended up loving. Dragon Age Inquisition and Titanfall 2 are perfect examples. I play the Battlefield games here and there and I’d play Madden or NBA if liked the sports. It’s never on sale but it’s cheap enough. I think you just purchase it through your Microsoft account. Download the app and do it through there. I think you get access to Origin stuff on PC too.

I own an X1X.  I'm debating about double dipping with Hellblade despite already having it on PS4 (haven't played it yet).  Are the graphical updates on the X1X worth it compared to playing it on an original PS4?  Any thoughts?

Is WWII worth $38 just for the story and some light multiplayer? I don't really have a lot of time to sink into the multiplayer nowadays so it wouldn't see a lot of use.

No I would wait for it to go lower if you are just going to play mostly the story and light multiplayer. With the new one coming out in two months, the price will drop even more. If you have waited this long might as well wait for a lower price.

So on the surface the Silent HD Collection is playable, especially on the X. Looking at the hour+ long video that Twin Perfect put out years ago (also very spoiler. Part two is about the voice acting) explain what's wrong with the collection more then I did: looping music audio during cut scenes, mis-matched sound effects, missing details etc. The voice issues are mostly non-existent with the second game because you can choose the original voice cast but the music glitches, fog, etc are all there. For SH2 I would wait to see if Konami gives the green light for the original XBox version to go BC down the road. But if you don't have access to PC version of SH3 or other means It's probably worth a go for SH3 at least. Personally I was curious to try the versions at $7.50.

Hopefully the MGS Collection becomes BC. That's the big one! Original quality art work at 720p. No sound issues, bugs etc. and ran at 60fps when the PS2 version of MGS3 alone was 20fps a lot... should be locked 60fps on the X.

I have a feeling those are gonna be soon since EvilBoris HDR saw those in testing before his source got pulled again. Also noticed a price increase from the last sale. Though 360 games going on sale and not BC still happens a lot. Just odd they are higher in cost then they were a month ago on sale.

do you have Titanfall 2? That game is very worth the $6 price for the campaign and some light multiplayer.

You have go in like an online game go to a portal go to team click on add player. Then they login. Once you do it rhis way it drops your team from 4 down to 2 making the game much harder.
Wow, that’s super annoying! I wish they’d just made the 360 versions BC. The remaster is fine, but I would have been happy enough without having to buy it again.

So I'm gonna run through these give aways pretty quick this week so stay tuned :)

The winner of the last one is #25

Sooooooo, maxx you are the winner! PM me your GT and I'll send it over

as for everyone else............I really want this game to succeed (I think the idea is so much fun XD) so imma run it again, and I'll pick another winner tomorrow

WESTERN PRESS FA FREE!

As always like this post to be entered!

This is the 2nd of a few that will be going out over the next couple days :)
Sweet, thank you.

The original voices in SH2 still have some voices replaced. The cropped cutscenes are also an abomination. Amazing how much they managed to screw up in the SH HD collection.

I need to re-up my Xbox live. I think I've got a couple of physical 3 month cards sitting around. Does anyone know if you can get an extra month free for turning auto renewal on when redeeming a code right now? It worked a few months ago but I have no idea when it is active or what other restrictions might trigger it.

Welp, when it rains, it pours. I think my X1S is acting up.

The past 48 hours, I've heard some random static in the audio while a game is running, usually if there are a lot of sounds happening at once. Twice, I've seen the screen go full-white-static, Poltergeist style, for 1-2 seconds. I was worried it was my audio receiver, so I turned it off and switched to the TV speakers, but it happened again. A few hours later, I came back and played another 45 minutes of MMX without incident. Turned of my X1 and unplugged it just to be safe when I was done.

Wondering if my console is shitting the bed, if the HDMI port is wonky, if the HDMI cable is bad, or if it's the TV (or the HDMI port on the TV, and not the whole TV). Has anyone experienced this before?

Booted up my PS3 briefly to see if the problem happened again with a different input device, but didn't spend much time with it, and it wasn't happening with much frequency even during 1-2 hours on the X1.

Do you remember how much those cards cost you? There's a great deal on Live Gold right now if you buy from the console/website. $40 for a full year. Can be stacked up to 3 years. (Make sure to turn off auto-renew afterwards.) Compare this price to the cost of your cards and see which makes more sense.

Don't use your card. There's an offer on the dashboard of 3 months for $9.99 or a year for $39.99. (There's also a 3-month offer for Game Pass for $9.99). Just remember to turn off autorenewal.

I think I might have paid around $15 for each 3 month card maybe last Black Friday. I mostly want to use them up so I don't lose them. I don't keep a constant sub like most since I don't use it nearly enough. I usually leverage the small gap between using codes to wait for the next GWG group to go live and occasionally skip ones I don't care about.

If the free month deal is active for direct purchases or codes specifically it might change whether I buy 3 months before sale ends or if I might just wait to see the next set of games first. Trying to figure out if I need anything from the current sale. If my 3 month code turns into 4 months then I could hit this sale and still be gold for a black Friday sale.

Or most likely there will be new sales on live then and I can re-up at bf. Nevermind I'm way too lost in my own planning that no one can help me. Lol.

I just used a Black Friday 3 month card a few days ago, the offer for one free month is still there.

In my case I paid $10 for a few of those cards, so I didn’t need their 3 month offer as I had enough..

You just got a new tv right? It might just be an HDMI “handshake” issue between the two. I would start with new hdmi cables, I had a similar issue when I upgraded to a 4K tv. I had cables that were a few years old but still should have been able to handle 4K, but I got some Monoprice cables that were certified for 4K and it fixed all handshake issues. The cables should only be $5 each so it’s not too rough on the wallet. Hope that works.

Thanks for the reply. Funny story, I bought the 4k Monoprice cables someone in this thread recommended ~2 month ago in anticipation of buying my new TV, so the cable is brand new and should be fully compatible. I've also spent 1-2 hours a day for 3-4 weeks with the Xbox on this TV, and it's only happened in the last ~48 hours.
