Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

At the end of the video to enter the contest it says you get 100 MS Rewards pts/ 1$ for summer spotlight titles up to 4000.

Has MS made a mistake with giving away free 360 games? Only one I could remember was Fable 3 years ago and they ended up voiding it. I think it was because it was in parts or something...

X1 I know they screwed up Fallout and revoked it.

Shadowrun a few years back immediately comes to mind and it's still in my collection.

Oh I just read MoviePass is increasing the price to $15. I am like ok I guess I can still make that work but then I see they are limiting sales of tickets to new releases. I'm out. The first few weeks are when these movies are on the best screens. Why the fuck do I want to see MI:Fallout on a dinky screen? It was nice knowing you MoviePass.

Fable 3 was the first GwG. I think you might be referring to Fable 2. Fable 2 was originally released in parts and when you downloaded the first part, it gave you the full game. I've had to transfer Fable 2 a few times between hard drives because I won't be able to dl the full game again unless I buy it.

There was another game I wasn't able to get before it was fixed. I think it was Rise of the Dragon or something like that.

edit - it was shadowrun. corrected by bardockkun. I think it was Fallout 4 which is an X1 game and those they can revoke.

Blacklist fixed - no longer free. Says free but I get a "Sorry

Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again."
message when I try to claim it

EDIT - wild thought....maybe this is going to GamePass tomorrow and someone jumped the gun at Microsoft??

It's not going to make or break the game for me, but does the "combat" change up much?
It's not a spoiler but they're very hands off tutorial wise so I'll put it in a spoiler, even though it shows you some controls when you pause the game. There won't be anything story related, just controls/combat.
It doesn't change up a whole lot, just a heavy, light, dodge and block button. I didn't realize until half way through the game that pressing the block button shortly before being hit is parry. I also didn't notice/figure out until an hour before the end that there are some combos (ex. there's a shield enemy and a heavy attack won't break their stance but I figured out a powered up heavy attack that breaks their stance), but maybe that's story related? That isn't a hint, I don't know if it is or not. I could just be bad at figuring combat out. There's like 10 different enemy types, so combat switches up a little bit between them.

Hope that helps.

I think MS killed the dl. It was downloading and now it stopped and won't continue.

It's still in my dl history though.

Something is weird with it for sure, when it was announced as BC today I went to the Xbox.com to try and pick it up digitally and the base game wasn't even there, just the 2 add-on's and a video trailer. According to TA the game is/was delisted from the digital store.

It helped, I figured out the one thing right away and was more curious about what your last sentence told me

Curious to see if this one sticks. I've got the 360 downloading it right now just in case.
I could be making this up but I thought I read, a long time ago, that they couldn’t take away 360 licenses from accounts. That’s why we get to keep the 360 Games with Gold. Like I said, I could have imagined this rationale, but I’d swear I heard this somewhere.

Fingers crossed.

Want more scares and newer graphics matter do 7.

Want more action / shooting that 5 offered (or want more co op) than play 6. It’s very unpopular because way more heavy on action. But my friends that want that are we’re not wanting the usual intensity of a RE game, liked it a lot.

Willing to be ok with less graphics and less shooting action, in order to appreciate classic, play 1. Controls are clunkier than 5, but it’s pretty cool to see the first time they (do something that comes back). Also 1 has more puzzles than 5/7/4

My recommendation might be 4. Little less shooting than 5 but more of the immersion / intensity. Also same director as RE1. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks. Do any of the games stories connect at all or is each game a separate game?

Had a look at Splinter Cell Blacklist and it said not available in your region, I go to the Australia page and not even listed there. Hope it gets put up for Australia.

Umm resident evil 0-6 and Code Veronica are all connected in some sort of way, 7 is it's own thing if you don't count the DLC. Honestly even though 4 gets all the love the controls are a little tough to go back to these days. Ugh and the escort parts.

When I looked this morning Blacklist wasn't even on the US xbox store page since it had been delisted, some kind of foul up over there at HQ where it magically appeared, but I was able to get on the 360 and the Xbox One before the cutoff. Played a hour or so, not having Ironside do Sam is striking but the gameplay is there if you like conviction style.

Yeah, I think so. That's how I was playing it, anyway.

Got in just under the buzzer with three months of Game Pass. Hard to argue with the price.

Are you kidding me?!

I can't get my Xbox one to read discs to install Blacklist and I miss getting it digitally for free.....

lol

I wouldn't care as much if you could at least buy it digitally

Never even heard of Dandara or Ruiner.

Hitman is excellent, everyone check that out.

Ryse is great for what it is, simple combat but satisfying, and the graphics are still great.

Dandara looks like a quick-movement-platformer... almost reminded me of something like VVVVVV but with jumping in any direction instead of just up and down. Seems neat.

Ryse has co-op, right? Is it just a side-mode arena thing (and is it any good)? Or is it in the campaign itself?

Bought ruiner during the sale...guess I'll keep it in the backlog and play other gamepass games before my sub expires. There are some good additions I'd like to check out, want to give hitman a try.

Dandara is excellent. Cool metroidvania with a unique control system.

Also am glad I didn’t double dip on Ruiner. Been tempted because it’s also really good.

Never buying games again, always sad when they release the game pass list and I own most of them
I know everyone's buying decisions are different, but for me, if I was subscribed to GP, I wouldn't even consider buying any game unless it was something I needed to play right away (you're excited for it, your friend wants you to play it with them, game just came out, etc.). But otherwise I wouldn't add something to my backlog when I have a full library of games in GP...

I'm debating keeping it or not. My next billing is on the 17th so hopefully we see something by then. I didn't think about this but it does seem likely to affect me, as my main theater only has one screen with recliners.

I've got two big concerns. The limited new releases is "only" on blockbusters supposedly, but they classify this as movies opening on more than 1000 screens, which would be virtually everything that comes to the two local theaters, though probably not some stuff in my backup location 30 minutes away. Second, they don't say peak pricing is changing, and it was getting ridiculous lately, hitting over $6 in some places. If I have to wait 2 weeks to have something as an option, AND it still has peak pricing it will definitely not be worth it.

But, the two theaters I actually go to 95% of the time are both Goodrich, which are still supporting e-ticketing and as far as I can tell have been immune to both peak pricing and the blockbuster limitation, as it seems Mission Impossible is select-able for me. If it stays like this I'm fine.

If I had an AMC in town I would probably switch to their service, but I don't have one all that close.

I don't know. there are plenty of games I don't think will be coming to GamePass ever. You can kind of look at it like trying to guess what publisher would allow BC.

For example, while 2K has supported it with stuff like Bioshock, they haven't put any Rockstar stuff on the service. Probably safe to buy GTA, Red Dead, maybe even LA Noire and know it won't come to the service.

Capcom and Konami seem to allow stuff for brief periods to either drive sales of older titles or try and get more interest in a related upcoming release. Like MGS V going up for like a month before Survive came out.

EA Access on the other hand gives a strong argument to never buy and EA game, especially with the recently announced Premium version on PC, that is putting new stuff on their on launch like GamePass. If Microsoft released more than two exclusives a year, this same argument would hold more water.

I don't know what the spread would be for people considering GamePass to really fill up their backlog would be. It's mostly older titles so people that play a lot probably played a good chunk of what they'd be interested in, and I know for me there are some games I just would never care to play because of genre or whatever. If your entire gaming budget is GamePass maybe more of effort would be made to play more, but if someone is being that strict with spending it seems like GWG alone could serve the same purpose.
