Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I don't want to buy much digitally on Switch but if they keep that other region loophole open I'll probably get more there. $5 for Hollow Knight and $1.80 for The Messenger at launch was pretty sweet. As far as exclusives go, I think it'll depend on the games doing well there in the first place. Games like Spelunky 2 a surely a lock for all platforms, but if something just does alright it may not be feasible from some of those smaller devs.

When did the Gamepass quests start? Checking the website shows me last month still. I already ran through Halo 2 after the 1st so I should be good for all three hopefully.

Holy mother of shit Destiny 2 Forsaken is addicting as hell. I can't stop playing.
Just out of curiosity can you jump right into Forsaken like you could with Taken King? I never finished the main story (actually probably not even close).

Almost seems like Bungie holds the good stuff for paid content that isnt even part is the season pass. :(

was it new? If so where might I ask.
Where did you get this?

I reach a plateau in Halo 5 at the high Platinum ranks and can never get to Diamond. I'm very naïve so I tell myself this is because I need an Elite controller to make me better and ignore the fact that I'm approaching 30 so my reflexes aren't what they used to be.
Expertzone, one of those retail learning websites. My membership is expiring end of this month and their store rarely updated (if at all) this year.

Rumble Roses XX, which was delisted, is back on the marketplace again.
I Put 15 hours or so into that game and only got like 10 or so achievement points total in that game back in the day. I Have nothing else to add. Maybe question marks as to asking how my life was that sad at that time???

I got The Division achievement back in November IIRC. It showed as completed when I checked the challenge. I won't try for the MCC quest, I plan on binging the whole Halo series with my girlfriend at some point. Now is not the time for that.
Got the Division achievement shortly after the game launched and the quests show complete for me.

I think I'll knock out the Halo quests this month early as my gamepass ends on the 16th. As long as I have gamepass at the end of the month I still qualify, right? I was thinking if I re-up and then get that $5 back it's like a month at half price, but I want to wait until as close to FH4's release as I can.

Any thoughts on Sega Bass Fishing? I'm thinking about it for $1.24 and would like to know if it's worth picking up. Definitely going to Get NBA Jam on Fire Edition and MX Unleashed.
if you go in expecting an arcade style fishing experience, it's worth $1.24. It was a Dreamcast game, so it's not going to be very deep, but I enjoying playing it from time to time.

Totally off topic but I just picked up Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition off the last sale and I'm pretty sure I've spent more time fishing than anything else.

Looks like THQ acquired the Kingdoms of Amalur (sp?) IP. I’m hoping that increases a chance for BC, but they’ll probably just remaster and rerelease Reckoning.

THQ Nordic has been pretty good about doing both BC and HD remasters. I could see BC taking some time as I doubt MS even bothered with it before now due to the legal stuff.

I'd hold off before getting overly excited about the good buzz for Forsaken if you're on the fence. D2 had great buzz until about 3 or 4 weeks after launch when every really started to see just how bad the endgame and Crucible were. I've watched a few streams here and there and it's hard to get a gauge on much yet, beyond the story and writing being less bad than Vanilla D2.

Kingdom of Amalur... I think I bought that one in a sale but never played it. I really hope it does get added to the backward compatibility list, so I don't have to drag out my 360 to play it.

Nordic owns TimeSplitters now too, right? Another game I'd like to play on the Xbox One.

Yeah they just announced that one prior to this. Timesplitters is the only game that I would actually go out of my way to play in BC.

Any kind of news regarding Kingdoms of Amalur is better than no news. I owned it on disc and think I bought last time it went on sale.

Like it was pointed out above, it might take a while to go BC as the BC team understandably never bother to test it due to all the legal issues surrounding the game. But I can wait.

I played the demo so I could get the special outfit for Mass Effect 3 but ended up liking it enough to buy it.

HD port and/or BC announcement seems inevitable now.

I'd be happy with either TBH.

I haven't finished the campaign portion of the game yet because my life is pacing me right now, but what I've played I've enjoyed. The innerwebs is generally in agreement that this is the best story in D2 so far (maybe in all of Destiny, but whatever). It is still too soon after the release of the new expansion to tell how the game is going, but even if you don't have the new expansion all of the QoL improvements that have been added to the game that are available for anyone to enjoy (even those of you getting the base game for free from either PS+ or Best Buy) give the game extra depth and playability.

Also, for anyone that played D1, the new strike in Forsaken Warden of Nothing is a fuckING FANTASTIC throwback. I'm of the mind that Bungie and their guest devs have come to PLAY BALL.

Yeah, between this and Timesplitters, I'm pretty happy they (THQ Nordic) see the value of these obsolete / neglected IPs and are trying to do things with them in the age of remasters.

Speaking of remasters...

This'll probably be the next game I can get the GF hooked on. Every morning I catch her playing the Harry Potter iPhone game. Although I also loaned her my DS and convinced her to try Chrono Trigger, and she loves it!

Is there anywhere I can look up what saves I have 'in the cloud'?

I decided to start Mass Effect 2, after finishing the original several months ago. I tried to import the character from ME1 and it doesn't show any options to import.

Played/trying to play both on X1S via ea access.

For :360: saves the best thing to do is to look on your :360: console and see if there are saves in the cloud or on local storage. That is, if you have a :360: console...

As long as your saves are:

1) in the cloud

2) ME1 was completed on the same system

Then it should be fine. The only real problem folks encountered w/ BC was trying to import an old ME1 save from their 360, which the X1 didn't recognize. Sounds like you finished ME1 on the same console, though, in which case I have no idea what might be wrong. You might try finishing the ending fight of the first game again, or asking on the X1 or ME reddit.

Rip Burt Reynolds

Thanks both of you for the info. I really didn't want to hook the 360 back up, maybe I will try the last battle thing.

The ME1 import tool had a problem in which the game saves for the last time right after you beat Reaper Saren and therefore doesn't records your pick for new ambassador between Udina and Anderson.

And yes, I had a problem importing a 360 save into ME1 on XB1 for a new game plus playthrough but after a hard reset, it worked. This reminds me I still have 2 achievements left to unlock in ME1, beating the game on insanity and obtaining 75% of all possible paragon points.

I meant like Microsoft Rewards bonuses, contest entries, and things like that. Motorsport 7 had some, as did Horizon 3 if I remember correctly.
The Forza 7 stuff on XBL rewards was pretty great. I won the hoonigan car pack, the driver suit, and most importantly the VIP pass. Hell I didn't even pay for Forza 7 thanks to taco bell. Maybe Bing/MS rewards will do something as we get closer, but using points for entries is always going to keep me from entering those things.

you can totally check your storage from a xbox one, just open a BC game, open the guide and go to manage storage
Holy cow I always forget about being able to bring up the 360 dashboard. Thanks, I'll try this first!!

I'm not SUPER worried about importing the character, the little bit of reading I've done on the subject makes it seem like I made the 'wrong' party choices, anyways.

Gears Dev stream is about to start with the Corp Boltok available.  "Retweet" now and watch 15 minutes later, or watch 30 minutes later (in about an hour when the quest goes live).

Looks like Xbox live is back to normal. I couldn't play any games with DLC today. The Purchase and game content  warning is finally gone after a week.

My Gamepass expires 4-22-19 and I can confirm I'm eligible for 3 months for $15 with auto renew turned off. Thanks for posting this or I probably wouldn't have noticed the deal.
