This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Is it wrong if i start feeling lonely when this thread barely has any posts ?
You don't want us to answer that...

And I beat Dust: An Elysian Tail today. That game is like a DeviantArt page come to life and I enjoyed it, but goddamn I am getting sick of characters with amnesia storyline's since they're basically all the same. I Think only game to ever put a nice twist to it (to that twist) was Bioshock.

so it's been confirmed... shenmue 3 will be out in 2015... i hope it comes out on 360 and not just current gen (xbone and ps4)
Frank being lonely confirms Shenmue 3?

What game does me being lonely confirm? Kingdom Hearts 3? I guess that'll never happen. :bouncy:

I can always start more arguments, if you'd like. :p

Well back to GH, finally imported all the GH songs, other than Band Hero, as I took the shrink-wrap off the GH:WoR copy I had, found a free Soundgarden CD included lol. Shit, I should have opened that thing up way sooner, I love Soundgarden!
Wait, how did you import all the songs? I get errors trying to do this in GH:WoR.

edit: on X360.

Just forget all about those amnesiacs and you'll be able to enjoy them all over again.

I thought Bastion was an interesting take on the amnesiac plot.

I hope your loneliness confirms Battletanx 3. You should, at least today since tomorrow is gonna get clogged for sure.

I got a Warface beta in my email yesterday... Is it even worth downloading?
I regret downloading it and not giving it away. Then again the last FPS i was able to get into was Goldeneye 007, not a big fan of them. With all the titanfall hype, i want to get in the train but warface just kicked my nuts out of it and left me hanging off the train from my ballsack. Then again, free is free.

Back on track, I grabbed Max Payne here and I'm pretty stoked about the price. If you have not grabbed Bully or RDR, ya just need ta cause they stink awesomeness from frame one until they end........now go grab em" and game on.

Wow walls of text in here. I'm definitely not reading any of that.
The text wall signal! Quick! To the threadmobile! We have to change its course in the most CronoTastic way!

Now that the thread has calmed down, we can resume our hype for Rocksteady's third Batman game alongside new fighting game characters. I'm surprised with all the anger when great things to come for Street Fighter with all the Namco-Capcom characters showing up with Decapre and this week's DOA5U's Marie Ros (18 ...) DLC. My loneliness on this thread confirms cool stages in Sega fighting games. Also, I realized I got a download message/token for Skullgirls Encore, did I miss the free color packs and Squiggly on the 360? I recall it was supposed to be free for 3 months and it is the end of March now, and I do not see the character and only the required compatibility update DLC (I can't believe I forgot and now it's gone T_T).

I guess I can understand with this past week's repeat discounts, fortunately with fine titles like Bully which others can get had they missed out the previous time it was discounted, but I didn't get anything new as well and thus the divergent path we've taken on this thread. It is nice that all the plastic instruments get one last hurrah DLC discount before disappearing, which is more than what I hope with all the DLC on games I have (more likely to just get ignored when the servers/marketplace closes for good). That is a lot of DLC too, surprising since I've fully filled 3 250GB HDDs for my one fat 360 (one with DLC, one with XBLA, last with GonD, with USB sticks for the XBLIG RPG + massive saves, memory cards for other saves, and system storage for the dashboard interface OS), without ever touching one rhythm game. I fear rhythm games will be a dangerous one way path for me to spend way too much. So I am avoiding all the rhythm games and DLC songs for the sake of hard drive space and all the many songs I know I will have to have which will total to a fortune (I did buy that Hatsune Miku rhythm game last generation, because I had to ^^). My avoidance is my own savings.

I am still waiting on Xbox Live Rewards to present a new offer to us. The season pass offer came and went fast. Now there's nothing to fill the void left behind. No punchcards, no special rebates, no encouragement to do anything on the 360 or X1, just the survey and achievement-based rebate on purchases. I fear the rewards program and playxbla community are facing abandonment because both are looking post-apocalyptic now. Good news though, just a little over a week for our new Games with Gold!

Then again nearly every game that sells well gets a sequel unless you're Megaman Legends.
You make me so sad. I really do enjoy the Megaman series and you had to remind me of all the cancellations even after the 25th anniversary. On the brighter side, Mighty No.9 looks like it is turning out well so far and it is still slated for the 360!

Bullet Soul Infinite Burst is listed as region locked. I had already looked into preordering it a while ago. Always the chance it could be wrong, but at this point I doubt it. I have the previous release on XBLA, but I'm afraid to even boot it anymore since they started cracking down on out of region purchases.
NO! Don't give me that kind of bad news. I love shooting games too. I've already preordered the first pressing of Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst. That would mean not only does the download code for the first Bullet Soul game be useless for me (have it on disc already) but the actual game disc would not see any use for a while, leaving the only thing for me is the special Xbox 360 issue of Famicom Tsushin (Famitsu or where early EGM after issue 2 took their review format from ^^). I was so looking forward to the game because I thought the first title's innovation of having less than 2% of the bullets reach the vicinity of your ship actually made me live longer in a "danmaku" game. I'm still holding out the title ends out region free like the first game and Phantom Breaker: Extra (first edition still wrapped up, and ready if I ever want to start some unboxing video, my backlog still has me good). Also, I forgot when was MSP entered in after the transition date set to expire, because I have just a bit over ¥6200 and if they are going to go away I kind of want to burn them up in DLC, but I'd rather purchase some GonD (which I am short about ¥200 for a new release).

What other game desperately needs a sequel, you know other than RDR-HL2 is already known and therefore translucent!
Baboy > screw Jazz Jackrabbit ... I want Epic to make a new Epic Pinball, it is the classic to me that made me took notice of Epic Megagames to begin with. Jill of the Jungle, Epic Baseball, ZZT, and Xargon cannot compare. Admittedly Tyrian was a decent shooting game and Solar Winds did tide me down after wanting more Star Control 2. All before their Unreal and Gears fame, I enjoyed a few of their titles back in the day. Yep, there's a vast amount of games which sequels would draw my interest.

E.Nich > There were like 2 sequels to Rival Schools. One on the Playstation and one on the Dreamcast. What has two thumbs and has them all ... this guy. I still lack the obi (spine card) to Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2, so it's not much for collectors, but I actually do play it. I heard somewhere (so not fully reliable), one possible reason for the lack of additional titles in the series may be attributed to the voice actor of Hyo, since in Japan the Character Voice or seiyuu are very tied to characters, so when he died, out of respect or his estate's legal ties may be a key reason. The same voice actor also did the voice for Guilty Gear character Zato-1, which since his passing the character in Guilty Gear has been named after his shadow (if you know the movesets of the character), Eddie, which in Guilty Gear story took over the body of Zato-1, paralleling with the passing of the voice actor (then again, by story the reason was that my main, Millia Rage killed Zato-1). As for good news, looks like Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will refer to the character as Zato-1 again, so maybe the statute of limitations of such has passed and perhaps the Justice Gakuen series can continue without Hyo. Then again, that sounds like a lot more effort than Capcom is willing to put forth lately.

BobbyTastic > I want the Double Dragon game too. Even my 360 recommends it to me because I've showed interest in Castlevania HD and Pinball FX2. Yet, Double Dragon Neon hasn't gotten a discount for me to purchase.

Canvasch > Isn't that why everyone has moved on to Sleeping Dogs? Think of it as a non-MMO reimagining. Bonus for the likelihood of that getting a sequel (although I would have preferred they took the concepts which worked for Sleeping Dogs, take the open world crime games to exotic [non-US-like] locales with a cinematic flair ... so I thought maybe instead of Hong Kong, a new title in Paris, or Madrid, or a British gangster one like The Getaway series).

Well, the ending was weird, I agree with you. And there is indeed place for continuing the story, but I think that if they do make a sequel, it won't be as fresh and good as the first one, so I'm better without it.

Didn't the ending made you think about
the movie "Matrix"? I felt kinda ripped off by it, but loved the game nonetheless. Besides, the song at the credits was pretty good too.
You do NOT want to see me get out of this chair. Ergo open your yapper one more time and I'm gonna architect a world of pain all over your candy ass. ERGO! Vis-a-vis! CONCORDENTLY!

I really do want the Enslaved: Oddysey to the West DLC to get a discount so I can finally experience what you all rave about.

Microsoft is protecting your back logs this week, you should be praising them.
No, my backlog monster compels me to feed it. I must obey. It is the one true master. Kneel before it.

Speaking of wanted sequels:

EckoTweet-620x.jpg

Wanted sequels? Really? I Own the Collector's Edition of that game and I can safely say that game didn't play well back than and I doubt it plays any better now.

I Thought Dead Rising 2: Case Zero was just like McDonalds in the sense of "yup, I don't need anything else from them".

And I got a PS3 for $25 and was debating on getting PS+ before I remembered my 360 library and how little there was for me because I buy so many goddamn games. That's kinda depressing...
What's depressing to ME is that you got a Playstation 3 for $25. How?!

Even at the risk of being the target of your demolishing anger:

¿? Man, I spoilered the ending comment. Did I leave something outside? Either way, the DLC doesn't have anything to do with the main story. It's a spin off that plays really different, but it's worth full price imo anyways.

EDIT: Don't worry, you didn't miss Squigly DLC. It never was available in xbox marketplace. I check regularly for it and never saw it released.

Seconding this, E.Nich is correct, the game STILL isn't available for purchase on 360 yet. My guess would be it'll see a re-release this coming Wednesday along with Squigly.

Skullgirls Encore will have another 400gs (apart from the original 200gs, as another game)? I would expect that if it gets newly released. If it does, I hope it won't have too many online chievos if they decide to add new ones :speaktothehand:

They said it won't. The PS3 version only has different trophies because of some nonsense PSN thing, they said XBLM wouldn't have that issue. That, and X360A's tracker hasn't picked up anything (the achievements would have been added to the database already, especially if it's out Wednesday).

You continue to put me, your apprentice in the text wall arts, to shame. We missed you Crono.

Also, I just noticed on your gamercard. Why is your rep 1 star? Is it because you talk into the headset as long as you type? :p
I think this is sarcasm ... likely sarcasm. I had a post in mind last week, about the Soul Calibur series and all the mudslinging about on the thread, but it's probably for the best I not expressed my thoughts since it may have added to the negative vibes. At this point, I'll consider some director's cut of my previous post.

Given all of your likes, I'm going to interpret that as approval for my low rep for talking much on the headset ^^. Yes, I do use the headset, and I can likely talk anyone's ear off about videogames. I best check now to make sure it is the host site for the card rather than my actual rep.

I apologize, I don't usually like to use my big voice. The door on your right leads to the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. The highway crossing frog of a price for the DLC is still a bit much for me at 800MSP, it could go a tad lower and I'd feel more comfortable about paying.

Yeah, I do not see anything listed this week on XBLA between Constant C and Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition. This seems like a plausible scenario where Encore gets released.

I know earlier someone mentioned something about a Spelunky mashup. Alongside awesome detective gameplay in a 360 game? Sounds awesome, kickstart it! Sounds more family friendly than my kickstarter ideas (I'll save it for another post ^^).

That is hilarious, don't feel bad crono it was just a good joke! I'd much prefer someone wanting to just gab about games a lot, than mouth breathers, toddlers screaming or the other online troupes out there.

Actually, the first half of that message was sincere even if just a bit teasing, I know I missed you, but I really can't talk for anyone else. I suppose it may be hard to believe given some of my negativity this week, but I am capable of positive emotions. :p

The second half is where the jokes are. I have no doubt you can talk someone's ear off in the middle of a Halo match about Deathsmiles. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, I'm just assuming based on your rep that most Xbox users disagree with me, but I was always an odd one. :bouncy:

I apologize for censoring you indirectly, by the way. And I'm sure all the likes are either related to the "we miss you" part, or just people who enjoyed my joke about your rep. I'm not sure I've seen anyone in this thread ever speak ill of you, so I doubt it would be for any other reason.

I guess my thoughts on Skullgirls' release are just wishful thinking, but damn if I can help it. PSN got Encore a month ago (then again they got the original release a year before 360, iirc).

I knew about the Metroid Spelunky mash-up from the Steam thread, but I figured since it was a PC thing that people here might not really care.

Dirty kickstarter ideas? Do tell!

I warned you, I was thinking of saving the thought for when a Call of Duty or Battlefield Deal of the Week happens ... but

[customspoiler='Rated M for mature']I would like to formally announce my kickstarter to bust the myth for terrorists that the 14 virgins are worth it by recreating the situation in my bedroom ... I will also need a control group of 14 non-virgins ... and to ramp it up mythbusters style, mixes of different combinations of virgins and non-virgins to find the right amount that is closest to nirvana, heaven or whatever it is ...[/customspoiler]

these are my thoughts when I do mundane things like wash dishes or shovel snow. <sarcasm>I am a well-adjusted person</sarcasm>

That or the same feeling as:

Is it wrong if i start feeling lonely when this thread barely has any posts ?
You know you want this ... now that the dark thought has been unleashed. The problem with an unfiltered quick response that's not my usual text wall. Don't worry better thoughts will come if this following week's deals are outstanding. We'll see tomorrow night.

EDIT: Thanks BobbyTastic for the correction on my ignorance for my horrible attempt at humor. I'll leave my ignorance there to show without edit, but it was just a bad joke. Gotta test in small scale first before we proceed to full scale anyway. As for eroge, I have no idea what you are talking about, I was talking about Mass Effect DLC discounts. ^^ (Browser history, lots of F5 on xbldb.com ^^) As for danmaku, Bullet Soul Infinite Burst, is shaping up to possibly have some semblance of difficulty!

[customspoiler=Correction]It's 72 virgins, and from what I understand, non-fundamentalists don't believe in it, but I get your point/the joke. I still laughed.[/customspoiler]

[customspoiler=Dirty ME Stuff]Not directing this at you but see, what I don't understand about the people who overly enjoy the romance option/implied sexy time in ME, is if you are honestly only playing for THAT, why would you not just play a VN/eroge instead? Seriously. It doesn't even have to be graphic/dirty (though I would imagine most people would want a dirty one). Don't lie to yourself trying to justify what you enjoy by doing it in a "real game" (aka Western), just go for it, nobody has to know but you and your ISP... and maybe your mother if you still live at home and don't know how to use Incognito Mode. :bouncy: [/customspoiler]

Hey, at least you don't have the thoughts I do when doing that boring crap. They're not dirty, just really embarrassing and childlike. I would rather share my browser history than share that. :p

[Customspoiler=Edit]Uh huh suuuuuureeeee, the guy who has extensive knowledge on danmakus/imports them doesn't know what an eroge is. Totally believable. :p[/customspoiler]

All I remember is blacking out in an alleyway and I woke up I had a PS3! Ta Dah! Though my jaw really hurt...

And Amazon Warehouse had a few PS3's up for cheap. Basically I got 20GB (which turned out to be a 60GB model with 150GB HDD inside) for $60 and a 60GB with original box and media remote for $25 or $10 after I used my gift card. Last week was pretty eventful.

Not all of them were that lucky though. Mine was tore up and didn't even start. Oh well though you win some you lose some. I shipped it back and traded Ni No Kuni in for some credit to GS and came out with Titanfall. Not all bad.

It feels awesome that I have one, but I feel I only bought it really just so I could watch The Raid since for some reason my Sharp blu ray player will only play up to the credits and stop. Plus I got Ni No Kuni as well, but looking at my backlog I wonder if bringing another console to the fold was a good idea or not. Oh well, PERSONA 5 MACHINE! WOOOOO!

"Persona 5 - The Only Game Worth Owning a PS3 For" - Bardockkun, 2014

Mind if I post this in the PSN thread? :p

Thanks for all the replies to my Max Payne 3 query. I'm glad to see it on sale for those who missed out on it, but these Rockstar sales are way too common.

I realized I haven't had the Xbox on for a week and forgot to download Dungeon Defenders.  I'll get on that and try out Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution in the meantime.

Oh, and I finished Splosion Man and thought the boss encounters were the most memorable/fun but I don't know if I should keep the game. Ms. Splosion Man seems more fun though.

Well i wonder whats on sale tomorroe

hopefully something horror game related

Have they ever had a Capcom sale similar to the Rockstar sale last week

My Capcom purchases go on PS3 so I can't answer that.

Going through my "My Games" list and looking at trials only, I would like to see a sale on any of the following:

Arkanoid Live

Banjo Kazooie/Tooie

Double Dragon Neon

Duke Nukem 3-D

Encleverment Experiment

Luxor 2

Microbot

Mr. Driller Online

Mutant Storm Empire/Reloaded

Nin2-Jump

R-Type Dimensions

Rocketman:Axis of Evil

Shadow Complex

Shank

South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play

State of Decay

Toe Jam and Earl

The Fancy Pants Adventures

Walking Dead Season 2

Trouble Witches Neo

Unbound Saga

Uno Rush

Wik: Fable of Souls

But knowing my luck, we'll probably get sports titles on sale - namely basketball games to celebrate March Madness. Although, I wouldn't mind a WWE2K14 sale to celebrate Macho Madness.

I'd buy the Arcade EA Sports March Madness game if they put it on sale finally.

We had a BF/CoD sale, and now just had a Rockstar sale, so it honestly seems likely we'll have an Elder Scrolls sale yet again, since we just seem to rotate through the same 3 themes over and over when we're not around a holiday.

WWE2k14 dropped to $40 on the marketplace last week. That might be a permanent drop to match the current MSRP. Though I think if they're going to do a WWE sale, next week might be timed better to coincide with Wreslemania week.

Beyond was cool just dragged on too long at the end.
I Am personally going to disagree. That was one of those games that I was looking forward to since I enjoyed Heavy Rain, but fuck this game. Everything about the game just annoyed the hell out of me: from the writing, to the pacing, to the pacing that the fact that had to remember that this is a game and not a terrible movie (2-3 hours after I learned the stupid stealth and action mechanics I get to use them? Really?!), just the general gameplay of story of the ghost balloon thing isn't explained and most annoyingly I have a goddamn ghost balloon thing that looks overhead constantly, but that damn thing can't stop Ellen Paige from getting knocked out in the back of the head like 3-5 times in the stupid game. The only time the game was "fun" was the Carrie moment where I ruined the shitty Birthday party, while the worst pop music ever played.

Yeah I disagree with most of that. The writing/story wasn't always top notch but there were some unique scenes and some really enjoyable action sequences in my opinion. I won't get too much more into a PS3 exclusive here in the XBL thread, but you should come hang out in the PSN thread. We have punch pie and ice cream.

Eventually, I'm still slightly afraid to play the big triple A games on it because the fan gets TERRIFYINGLY LOUD. Though there's only a select few disc games I haven't played that I want to get to so hopefully it doesn't explode before than.

And I beat Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. That was...pretty fun, I do enjoy the "fuck these gun draw" options of winning them dishonorably or in my case just shooting them in the dick before they get a chance to get their gun just as an extra fuck you. Though the last mission, gosh, I hate when a game just tosses legion of enemies all around you with no real viable cover scenarios.

Since we're off topic on PS games anyways...does anyone else feel like these free GwG and XBL sales are making them spend less on new releases?

There are games I am really excited about (like South Park), but I can't justify spending money on them until I finish through a lot of the games I've already started.  Currently on Act 3 of Dead Island and have been playing some Dungeon Defenders while still working through the 3 remaining games I got from Black Friday/Xmas, not to mention still haven't "finished" Civ Revolution yet.  And then next week will be a new GwG to add to the backlog.

By the time I'm free to play South Park, it'll be $20.  Lol.

You're CAG, you're always suppose to spend less on new releases or wait until under $20. That's what I do.

My 120GB Elite Xbox 360 sounds like a rocket ship about to take off. My PS3 slim is extremely quiet comparatively. But I think you said you got yours used for cheap so maybe your PS3 has seen some shit.

For me it has to do with how quickly after release 360 games are seeing price drops. I see no need to jump on any new releases because I know they'll be on sale sooner rather than later. Also, yes, backlog.

My 360 Elite has a Jasper motherboard in it so it's damn quiet, but only problem is the disc drive acts up meaning the disc tray has to have a disc in for it to open otherwise it's alot of trying to open it and waiting until it responds. Well that and playing anything directly on disc game wise sounds like a robot motorboating a car engine. Plus the PS3 I got is the original 60GB models, so I'd be lying if I didn't expect the winds of hell blowing out of it when I try playing God of War: Ascension.
