I don't know what the Chain Reaction is but I really liked both of the Bioshock 2 DLCs. If you liked that end game heavy combat stuff, you'll like the trials. If you liked the game at all, you'll like Minerva's Den.
Wish "From Ashes" would drop already. No way I'm paying 800 Microsoft points for a 20 minute mission that was already on the disk...
A) It's NOT already on the disc. Some assets are, like the characters model code. But, the mission is not. Don't believe the hype train on that one.
B) It makes the game. Get it. I haven't encountered a DLC that impacts the game as much as that one.
Is it worth it to do the Chain Reaction for the Bioshock 2 DLC? (Dont have any of the DLC.)
Until I hear that someone can play DLC on another Xbox from which it was purchased, and until they fix the Marketplace bugs so that it shows as purchased in the Marketplace, I'd hold off, because while you may be able to download via your purchase history, I have serious doubts about compatibility with games on other systems finding the DLC in a licensed state on that HDD.

If anyone here does purchase the DLC, can you then please try using that DLC with its associated game on a 2nd Xbox? Thanks!
Did they fix the glitch mentioned in the OP about the Chain Reaction in the Sales and Specials app? Because I'm seeing the two Bioshock 2 items I had previously purchased as checked off.
Nope, still glitched ... go into the regular Xbox Marketplace, and you'll see the games can be re-purchased there at regular price. Very interested to hear if the DLC actually works correctly on 360's that weren't the original system.

Hey all ... updated the OP with some links (gotta find a way to automate that!), added Shuggy & Xotic (since I think they're temporary, given that Steam just came out @ $10), and updated the GoD game to 'Brave: A Warrior's Tale", because MS is asleep at the wheel on that one. Wasn't in a hurry to add the JC2 or DX:HR DLC until it shows up on Tuesday.
Bought Shuggy at 400MSP, 100%ed the single player in about 4&1/2-5 hours including breaks. I found 1 of the 116 boards challenging. The game is 3/10 on the difficulty scale. Its fun and theres about 10-15 different kinds of modifiers on the boards(press RT to spin the room, ect) and I feel they kept adding new modifiers and going from tutorial stages to easy to normal difficulty stages and repeating again with different modifier. Dont expect Super Meat Boy but more of a Mario level platformer with some great gimmicks, but its worth 200-400MSP. Its doubtful it'll hit 200 so if you want it at that price It'll probably be that much on Steam this winter.
Yes, it's not "Super Meat Boy", because that game is more about punishing your controller. "Shuggy" is S.M.B.-lite, where the graphics are cuter, but there's still plenty of moves requiring simultaneous jump & playfield manipulation. But it's not old & crusty like Mario ... that's just boring. Valcon is responsible for both "Shuggy" and "Xotic", and with both still @ $10 on Steam, I'd say jump in if you have the points, because you probably won't see it cheaper for quite a while.

I'm aware the Prothean has more dialogue than most of the squad, but I don't think I'm prepared to drop 800 points on it when Kasumi's Lost Memory was only 560...

Didn't know it was just the character model though. Saw YT vid of buddy unlocking the Prothean and jumped to conclusions.
Thanks.

If you are playing mass effect 3 without the Prothean, you are definitely missing out. I don't know how they justify having him be DLC, but I would just buy it if you are itching to play ME3.

Jumped on Shuggy. I've been waiting for that one to go on sale for quite a while, and could have very easily missed it as I'm away on vacation this week. This is why I still check in on CAG, even when I'm otherwise off the grid.
I have to disagree so far, I don't know where you're getting that from.

For me it's just poorly paced and the flash styled cartoon characters with no weight to their attacks just don't match up right.
I feel like you're playing a different game than the rest of us. Great combat system which gives players a lot of freedom.
I agree so much. I must say eastx is good at this. He will just say things like "Might want to hold off on the enthusiasm, will have a review when it's out." Rather than this crap we're seeing with people bashing Dust without any context or actual review structure for anyone to form their own opinions.
That's very nice of you to say! :) If I may share my opinion unabashedly for a moment though, Dust really is my game of the year. To me, it's just about perfect except for the automap system (I'd like a more detailed map). If you like SOTN and Metroidvania-type games, it's a very safe bet.
If you like SOTN and Metroidvania-type games, it's a very safe bet.
Oh man, you just set my expectations sky high. ;)

Following up on some earlier posts, I finally bit on The Warriors: Street Brawl. I figured now's as good a time as any, at this point I seriously doubt a sale will ever happen. Is it a good game? Not really. Is it a good game for Warriors fans? I'd say yes, mainly because it's a mediocre (not godawful, just mediocre) beat-'em-up set to the classic movie.

Let me put it this way: If this was a TMNT game I'd probably be bored to tears, but throw in a community park full of Furies and I'm all over it. :)

So the embargo is up on Dust, any other opinions from the select few that got a review copy ? Jaysonguy did your opinion change the more you played it ?

The fuck? You made me want to dl the demo at minimum now

Cornelius, hopefully you and everybody else knows this but xbldb.com provides links. You can find them on most pages but here is a detailed way to get them:
Open offer highlights page, price drops and free game addons:
http://xbldb.com/offer-highlights
Click on "show shareable summary"
Click on "show bbc code"

Then paste that in BBC code forum software:

Sniper: Ghost Warrior - 1200 ($15.00) Microsoft Points - 50% off - xbldb
Shivering Isles - 1200 ($15.00) Microsoft Points - 50% off - xbldb
Knights of the Nine - 400 ($5.00) Microsoft Points - 50% off - xbldb
Full Game - Adventures of Shuggy - 400 ($5.00) Microsoft Points - 50% off - xbldb
Full Game - Xotic - 400 ($5.00) Microsoft Points - 50% off - xbldb
50 Cent: BotS - 1600 ($20.00) Microsoft Points - 67% off - xbldb

Edit to add metacritic, or change titles of offers etc.

If you are sharing from xbldb do not remove the xbldb link.

HTML code is available for sharing on blogs etc.

I have noticed many people do not use this. Is there a better way to display this? Make it easier to use?

I disagree 100%

Kevin Van Ord is probably one of the best 3 reviewers the industry has today and he usually keeps people up to date during reviews in his Twitter feed or other postings in various areas.

If you don't like something you don't like something, if you do you do.

Sometimes people come around on games and sometimes they don't, sometimes they turn on games they were enjoying during the process of playing them.

To hold back everything until the end is static and very bad for the creative process. It's an organic thing, it's something that's growing each time you play a game, to stunt that growth and only have the finished copy means missing out on a lot of the process.

I don't know one reviewer that holds back everything he thinks about a game until the end, everyone just does it in varying degrees.
^Holy shit that works so many millions times faster than the way I was doing it. HAHA
Glad to be of service. I know reddjoey uses my site for links. Maybe i shouldn't be sharing his secrets. :D

You sound like you make your opinion on how good or bad a game is within the first 5 minutes.
Still going to get it. I just do not see a GOTY for this. Maybe a triple pack before the 4th game.
Why a triple pack when they already have 1 & 2 on a single Platinum Hits disc? Besides the evolution going from 1 -> 2, then 2 -> Third is by leaps and bounds, so you REALLY don't want to show SR1 much! :)
Can someone check the Sales and Specials App deals?
Those don't usually seem to be updated until 8:00 AM EST.

I don't recognize the "winning" prize picture. It looks familiar but I can't place it. anyway, losing "prizes":

Joe Danger: 1200-->800 points
Scott Pilgrim vs the World: 800-->600 points
Full House Poker: 800-->600 points

Chain reaction is still Bioshock 2.

Square Enix Sale. Various Games, Add-Ons, Themes & Avatars, More Add-Ons..lots of stuff...mostly Tomb Raider. Dragon Age 2 is 25% off GoD version for $14.99 aka 1200 MSP.
The Scratch & Match prize this week is: Loderunner.
I'm fairly interested in this. How easy is it to win? Do you get one chance or unlimited tries?

One chance per day i believe. According to the fine print i saw somewhere in the app, odds of winning is around 1 in 20.

Sometimes it says 1 in 20, other times it says 1 in 1000. So who knows. I've done maybe 20-30 scratch 'n matches and have yet to win anything.

Have not seen the 1 in 1000, but have definitely been questioning the 1 in 20. I too have entered well more than 20 times and have yet to win.

Hmm, I don't own Lode Runner. Looks like I'll be logging in every day to try my luck. This week's odds are 1 in 1000 which fits my friends and I not winning a goddamn thing.
EDIT: also, my DLCs are checked off in the chain reaction.

Huh, so I checked Major Nelson's blog yesterday to see what was gonna be on sale this week, & I noticed the Scott Pilgrim DLC was removed from the list. Wonder if this means it's not coming on the 19th or so.

NOOOO... I was really looking forward to this.

Oh well, Ive already waited a couple of years...
So what would be a better deal for Saints Row 3rd? Buying the season pass or getting the DLCs separate while they're on sale?
Someone is selling the SR3 season pass for $8 in xbox trading marketplace. That's the cheapest way to go.
So what would be a better deal for Saints Row 3rd? Buying the season pass or getting the DLCs separate while they're on sale?
Its 840 for all three SR 3 dlc. Someone is selling the season pass in xbox trading marketplace for 800 msp/ $8 which has all three DLC + the nyte blayde DLC which is just mostly cars I think.

Uggg...now I bought DA:O DLC when it was on sale but eventually bought the Ultimate version since it dropped in price mAking my digital purchase worthless. Has there been any talk about an Ultimate version for DA2? Do not want to buy this dlc and then realize a new $30 version is going to released.

Seriously considering a Puzzle Arcade purchase, once the Square Enix discounts kick in. I've been asked to buy it several times, but passed last time it hit 400, hoping for a better deal.

[Edit: ah, seems puzzle arcade is actually eidos. guess it was part of the tomb raider sale. weird I never saw it show up on xbldb.]

Did not expect Mark of the Ninja so soon. A sub-1200 price is always welcome.
Need to pick up the Deus Ex expansion and maybe the DJ Hero Domination pack. Not sure on the last one though.
The last one listed? Are you referring to the Tiesto pack?

It would be nice to win but I'm not holding my breath.;)
I would love loderunner. Only thing I have won was that crappy pirates vs ninjas dogeball. WTF is that?
Haha that's the only game on there so far that I didn't already own. I tried almost every day that week, but alas no PvNDB!

Any markdown from $30 -> $20, or $20 -> $15, is most likely an MSRP drop for the game ... however I see DA2 is still $20 @ GameStop, so I think this is one of those lame 25% off deals instead. :)
I would love loderunner. Only thing I have won was that crappy pirates vs ninjas dogeball. WTF is that?
I've done the scratch off pretty much everyday and haven't won anything.
The newest DJ/Guitar Hero discounts are live:

GHIII - Warner/Reprise Track Pack - 250 MSP
GH5 - blink-182 Track Pack - 220 MSP
GHWT - Classic Rock Track Pack - 220 MSP
Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock 1 Track Pack - 800 MSP
DJ Hero Domination Pack - 320 MSP
DJ Hero 2 - Tiësto Pack pres by Coca-Cola - 320 MSP
OK, did a big hack-job on the OP ... normally I would've said the EA games were MSRP drops, but I doubt EA would drop that many at a time, so that's probably the GoD DOTW. Some of the other drops noted by xbldb are price-drops, like Shuggy & Xotic, since they now appear on the "Recently Reduced" page on the Xbox.com website. The only part I couldn't finish was the S&S+'s scratch deals, but ... did I say how much I hate that POS? :)

For the scratch and match, you can just create as many free silver accounts as you want to increase your chances right? I have several dummy silver accounts but never won a thing on them even on my gold account.
I've done the scratch off pretty much everyday and haven't won anything.
I won the Zombie Pet from All Zombies Must Die. Sucks it wasn't the actual game, but ah well. It goes nice with my free Plants vs Zombies zombie mask and Left 4 Dead shirts.

Oh, and snagged the SR3 DLC. Was waiting for a sale and $10.50 was a great deal, even if I don't get the Nyte Blayde stuff.
