As an enormous fan of all three Mass Effect games I can tell you: Pinnacle Station is super lame. The only reason it's worth playing is for the gamerscore. Do not let it prevent you from starting ME! :)

To elaborate-- Pinnacle Station is combat trials. I think even people who think ME1 is the best in the series and didn't like the changes that came with 2 will say that the combat is NOT what made the game fun. On its own, divorced from the role playing elements, it doesn't stand up as a third person shooter.
I'm actually thinking of picking it up since I got in on the $10 MS points deal from Black Friday...400 points seems okay to finish out the ME1 collection :D Man, now I wanna go back and do another ME1 playthrough.....thanks Ryu!
I think the combat in ME1 was fun. Not the best part of the game, but I still thought it was really fun. It was way more fun than the second game, that's for sure. :)
There's always gotta be one weirdo. ;)

I may get Serious Sam 3 if nothing interest me this weekend (THQ sale) or the first countdown sale days. It's a pity that I have so little MSP right now v_v
Besides wrestling games, Saint's Row, and Warhammer 40k, what does THQ even have to put on sale?
The same games that have been on sale during the last 4 THQ publisher sales.
The same games that have been on sale during the last 4 THQ publisher sales.
You people crack me up... :p

It just so happens this version of the XBLA deal thread started off right as the last THQ sale was in full swing, aaaand that included:

DLC: Saints Row 2 and the Third, UFC 3 Season Pass, UFC Trainer thingy, You Don't Know Jack, WWE '12 Fan Axxess
GoD: Darksiders, Metro 2033, and You Don't Know Jack
XBLA: Warhammer 40k Kill Team, Nexuiz, Voltron, Apples to Apples

The coming sale could also include Red Faction, MX vs ATV Alive, Darksiders II, WH40K Space Marine, some Double Fine games...

Like I said previously, give me 75% off YDKJ packs again and throw in the Space Marine DLC and I think I'll be fine on THQ content.
Fred Meyer's at it again, with a concurrent 10% off all VG accessories this week ... and tomorrow only during their 1-day sale (Thursday, Dec. 13th), there's a "save $10/$20/$30 off $50/$100/$150 in Home Electronics, Music, Movies & VG's". This will bring your point cards down about 28%, depending upon how well you can work out the numbers. Both the weekly Electronics ad & the 1-day sale flyers on their website today (Wednesday).

The trick is to buy enough cards that when they're knocked down 10%, they're just above the $50/$100/$150 thresholds ... such as $115 - 10% = $103.50 - $20 = $83.50 (27.4% off).
I just posted this over in the points thread, but thought I'd re-quote here as well, in case people in the USA's Pacific NW were looking for points deals. :)
It's very good; better than Serious Sam HD 1 & 2.
Couldn't disagree with this more. 3 doesn't even come close to 1 and 2, still a great game but miles behind 1 and 2.
Couldn't disagree with this more. 3 doesn't even come close to 1 and 2, still a great game but miles behind 1 and 2.
What's your basis for that opinion? Put your back into the disagreement. ;)
But I'm specifically talking about the porting work. SS3 is better graphically and has split-screen, an important feature the two previous ports lacked.
The coming sale could also include Red Faction, MX vs ATV Alive, Darksiders II, WH40K Space Marine, some Double Fine games...
A reasonable price for Darksiders II and I'm sold. But that won't happen, because around here the GoD worth $65, and right now I won't buy it for more than $20.

PD: I gave the same valor to the euro=dollar change, which is not. But it's still the same in MS's mind.
Hahaha, yup that's me!
I always preferred the combat n KOTOR myself. I never thought Mass Effect should have deviated from what they had there.

Ick. We are worlds apart on that front my friend.
I always preferred the combat n KOTOR myself. I never thought Mass Effect should have deviated from what they had there.
I liked KOTOR combat mechanics, even though they were dated. Mass Effect is an RPG first and foremost, the shooter gameplay was fine to me as well. Why on earth did EA dumb the RPG elements in ME2+3 in favor of combat boggles me. Bioware is a talented dev that could of balanced the RPG and shooter elements finely to satisfy the masses.

KOTOR was literally my favorite Xbox generation game and DA:O (of the same style) is for sure a top fav of this current gen. It really is sad that Bioware...*ahem*, I mean EA, let go of that type of gameplay to satisfy the mainstream. Pity. I know it's an opinion but I think EA literally destroys developers, they know nothing about making a good game but everything about making money.

Here's to Dragon Age Inquisition to recapture the old glory of Bioware!

...I feel like my post has deviated too far.

Found this online, not sure if its true. Price have yet to be changed, I guess they are waiting to be changed on that day.

Fez, knew it. :D

Borderlands 2 Season Pass, I may have to bite since I picked up the game on BF. There's definitely a few items I'm interested in. Still going through the list but so far not as much stuff I wanted as I had hoped. Still not bad.

EDIT: So after looking at the list it looks like I'll be spending about 6000 points if everything is half off. About what I spent last year, but then it was all arcade games. The Borderlands 2 season pass takes up 1200/5920 I'm estimating. I've got 5930msp in my account right now so I may not even have to dip into my point card stockpile it seems.

The Games on Demand page features Avatar items, which may be what they'll actually do for that.

I guess it's kind of nice seeing what may be on sale, but it's pointless until the prices are adjusted.

Nice find Zizi!

Lots I'm digging in those lists and seeing as home there's a good number of XBLA titles in there I wanted plus the chance to complete Walking Dead for much cheaper, I'll be a happy 360 gamer this X-Mas. If the mistake from PSN holds up for next week (when they accidentally listed a ton of stuff on their blog but never put it active in the store), I'll be an equally happy PS3 gamer as well.

That's great. I can already see myself buying a ton of games. Need to see the prices first, but I think most of them will discount to enough where it'll be my purchase point. Awesome stuff

No banjo games? fuck you Microsoft.

Anyway great games, I will buy a lot of things.

EDIT: 4700 MSP for me plus the GoD sale and the missing days.

God I need a couple of cards or even more.

There's Banjo Nuts & Bolts. You didn't specify, which Banjo game...
... apparently Rock of Ages and Hydro Thunder support Kinect? Or whoever compiled that list is full of crap.
Hydro-hip thrust for boost
Rock of ages-tickle your ball to gain speed

I'm also hoping for a sale on the first two Banjo games. And the last two Fallout: New Vegas DLC.

As it is, looks like I'm just getting Jet Set Radio.

Also, Dragonborn should be part of that Skyrim sale, dammit.

Wow, this list has potential. Potential to be one hell of a sale, thus one hell of a gangbang on my virtual wallet ... or a great big disappointment if the sales are weak. That's one heck of a list, though.

+1 for the obligatory Sonic games on sale. At this point it just feels like tradition to have Sonic games on sale for the holidays. Like welcoming an old friend. :p

I had seen it and even I have in my collection but I mean the two arcades games who have not been on sale in more than two years.

Sorry for going off-topic, but can you link me to that PSN blog mistake? I just got a PS3, so this interests me. Thanks.

The Walking Dead page mentions Ep1 being free for a week starting on the 25th but the 1-day is the 28th...hmm.

I just bought Ep2&3 today before seeing the list. I suppose I could buy 4&5 now to ensure it will be 50% off for everyone else :)

I loved the Hell Yeah! demo, I'm definitely in for that if it's 1/2 off. I wonder why they decided to included Mark The Ninja but not Dust?

Looks like I'll be waiting for TWD . Was so close in getting it soon but Bully kept me away for now.

I still have 2000+ in my account and two 1600 msp cards ready to unload!

dust is in the summer of arcade 2012 link along with deadlight and hybrid no tonyhawk sale I guess

what you guys think will be in the question mark missing spots? not interested in any of these maybe trials hd and dlc but i like gettin all achievements n dont want to go crazy

Phew, I'd need over $100 in points just to score everything I want, though I could probably trim out a few things that will inevitably be discounted again such as anything Sega and anything released during Microsoft promos (Summer of Arcade, etc.). That's assuming everything hits 50% off, though I'm sure some things will only be 33% off. I'm betting Trials Evolution is one of those.

If Borderlands 2 season pass does go on sale, chances are it'll be more like 33% off or so like last year with the Gears season pass. Still a good deal no matter how you cut it though, well, minus when over a year passes with all the DLC is out and it's in constant DOTW rotation.

I was hoping forza horizon season pass would go on sale since im getting rally expansion anyway but guess im just getting the rally expansion ill have $30 of msp left probly save it for gears judgement season pass.

also I wanted max payne 3 season pass to go on sale dont see it though :(

Only saw 2-3 things I might be interested in (unless they add more).

Was hoping for a discount on BF3 Premium, but they are still advertising it on the dashboard so that won't happen anytime soon.

That's what I'm afraid of. For 1200 I'm in, but for 1600 I'd have to think about it. At 1600 it really isn't any different than buying each of the DLCs for their eventual sale price of 400msp a pop. I'd really like to see better discounts on season passes than what I can buy the individual content for. After all, isn't that the point of a season pass? A discount for buying all the content at once? That being said, 400 a pop is surely as cheap as they will get as evidenced by the repeated Borderlands 1 DLC sales for the exact same prices, so I may just cave anyway.

A World of Keflings DLC, R.A.W. (only if HEAVILY discounted, and I mean 400 MSP, since it's derivative and generic as hell), Fez, Mark of the Ninja, Dust, Deadlight, The Walking Dead series...

Looks like it'll be a breeze to reach this month's target MSP spent for Xbox Rewards, after all... bring it on, Santa! :bouncy:
