For the big sale, for the link that lists the arcade games but does not have a date, are these games on sale for the whole sale?
Probably.
How official is this? I see no Forza of any type? I cannot remember the last MS sale that didn't have some sort of Forza involved.
Pretty motherfucking official. Some dude on Twitter found the general XBLA sale, and sent it to @lifelower, who knows everything there is to know about Marketplace stuff, and he dug up the rest. There's still three sales we don't know about yet, so there's a chance Forza could be included in those.
CRAP! Out of that big list I may only pick up the 8-bit Fruit Ninja DLC. I have pretty much everything else. :(
LOL! And a kind user on these forums gave me the code for this. So now there is absolutely nothing for me to buy. This is good reminder that I need to PLAY games instead of just hoarding them. So much for the MSPs I stockpiled from the Target sale.

surprised no one has found a leak of the thq sale, but it is not much longer until that is on anyway.

just bought some msp i preparation for the sales, i hope the wwe 13 pass goes on sale.
This sale is going to be crazy!! No Skullgirls, but even so, damn.
Probably gonna get: Fez, Dust, Deadlight, all 5 episodes of The Walking Dead, and Borderlands GoD. Would like to also buy Mark of the Ninja, Trials Evo and some other games, but not enough MSP.
This is going to be bias as I've not played them all but Mark of the Ninja (and maybe even trials if frustration doesn't bother you) should be ranked right after The Walking Dead.

I'll be picking up the rest of the Walking Dead, only have the first episode, with this sale but Mark of the Ninja is just as good as the Walking Dead. Honestly, one of the best XBLA titles ever. (And a contender for my GoTY to be honest.)

This. I really hope people pick up Mark of the Ninja over games like Fez and Deadlight (if they can't afford to get all of them). I'd say Dust is the best game of this sale, but Mark of the Ninja is a close second.

Thanks Zizi, been waiting for this info like a fiend.
Def hope these games are at least 50%. was so excited to see $hadow Complex a few weeks back only to have it at 33%.
Also for them to hide two days means that it must be something good. /crosses fingers.
Maybe a Mass Effect dlc day :D

Getting Dust and Dark light 4sho. Also anybody played Hell yeah? Saw pictures of it and it looks insane, but the reviews weren't so hot.

I know it's super-early to be doing a bunch of research on these game sales, but is there any reason to buy the Fruit Ninja DLC? There aren't many reviews online, but it looks like they don't add any new game content. Anyone have any experience with these?

Looking at Mark of the Ninja, Frogger, Trials Evolution DLC, Dust: An Elysian Tale, and Borderlands 2 Season Pass. Definitely depends on how much of a discount these are as I only have about 40GBs left on my 320GB.

They really don't change anything gameplay wise, just the look of the game.
No problemo ... let the OP edits commence!
All done in the OP!

Again, big thanks to MWB for this introductory info dump! I know some folks here may get OCD & feel free to edit, rearrange, mangle ... but there's little sense in changing formatting unless you're going to add value, such as pricing, "xbldb" links, Metacritic links, or Giant Bomb's "first look" videos.
"Blowout-a-ganza"? Really?

Woohoo! Mark of the Ninja for me (only if sale is for 50% or more though). Just from the demo, the game looked really fun.

Damn those are some impressive sales !!

Now I have to decide between Dust and Mark of the Ninja (assuming they are 50% off).
Can anyone help ?

Or should I consider anything else ?

I already have The Walking Dead on Steam (if anyone's on the fence about this, get off the damn fence and buy this amazing, amazing game !!)

Yeah, Hell Yeah is a good game. It controls fine and looks really good. Despite what a lot of review said, I never ran into any problems confusing the crazy backgrounds from the action in the foreground. I think a few reviews complained about poor checkpoints as well, which I never had a single problem with either.

Even though there are big over-world maps, the game is still pretty linear overall, there's not a ton of exploration to do. There are a few funny bits as well. I'd give the game a solid 8/10 and it's well worth 600 MSP if that ends up being the price.

My biggest gripe about the game is that it has 1 achievement that is 100% luck based (basically you just have to hit the Jackpot on a slot machine). I absolutely hate achievements like that.

I am thinking of getting Modern Warfare 3 soon, so I will pick up the DLCs on 18th, can anyone tell me which DLC have achievements and which doesn't.

100% spot on assessment. I give the game 7/10 though. It entertaining, but gets a bit old after a while. I played it for a couple of hours....then forgot about it.

You can find a list of all the achievements here. The achivements for the DLC packs are listed at the bottom. It looks like the fourth pack doesn't have any achievements.

Understandable. I think it would have been a great 4-6 hour game, but there are 10 different overworld maps and the game easily takes 8-10 hours, so it does start to drag a little bit, especially since there aren't a ton of unlocks and no leveling up. (technically there are a lot of weapon unlocks, but a lot of the weapons feel very similar).

I was still pretty entertained throughout the game. The 101 micro-boss battle kept me going, it definitely had me thinking "oh, just one more boss then I'll take a break" plenty of times.

I don't know about you guys but im looking foward more to the prices of those Games on Demand. Im a sucker for any G.O.D. that goes for 800, hell even 1200 if its a great game (Catherine :D). Other than that, Sonic Adventure 2, Dust, and maybe Sonic 4 Episode 2 are the arcade games I have my eyes on.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some prices for this sale. I've got about 16k left to blow. I'm planning on getting the BL2 Season Pass, Dust, and The Walking Dead, but that's probably it. I AM a sucker for cheap GoD, though. I'll probably end up buying ME3's Omega and Skyrim's Dragonborn DLCs as well. Perhaps I should just buy Skyrim GoD while its on sale. I love having open-world games on demand.

I concur that this sale list is awesome but until I see prices I can not say if this is a good sale or not. We are talking about a company that list things as sales that are full price. ( halloween/ shocktober sales come to mind) fingers crosssed on prices-

I love Klei games, but I'm not too much into stealth type of games, I prefer them more like Shank :)

Fez and Deadlight, well, I just wanted a sale for them the very first day they were realeased, because there is no way that I would pay full price for them.

PD: It doesn't have anything in common with this topic but, anyone knows a good site for hard drive problems? I have an USB HD whose bootable sectors went kaput, and Idk how to bypass that to reach the data. I reached the data through MS-DOS with a bootable disk and setting the bios SATA compatibility to IDE. But I can't do a backup that way, because my main OS only works with SATA in ACH1 mode :(.

I'm kind of with you. I actually do think most of this stuff is gonna be on sale, but until I see the prices with my own eyes, I won't get my hopes up way too much.

Also, it looks like the links in the OP are dead, but was there a mention of Walking Dead actually being on sale? Considering they're already only $5 each and sell crazy-good, I was thinking that they'd just give 1 away for free but not actually drop the prices on the other 4.

I see. You definitely made the right call in waiting for Deadlight and Fex. I paid $8 for Deadlight and was still a little disappointed in it. I paid full price for Fez and definitely should have waited for a sale on that one.
I paid full price for Fez and definitely should have waited for a sale on that one.
I for one am looking forward to setting green things on fire and enjoying this game. I'm stoked for Dust and Hell Yeah!, too. Those are my three definite buys... I love a vibrant, exciting platformer/side-scroller.

I really want the 8-bit Fruit Ninja DLC too, for nostalgia's sake.

Yeah those were great. By far the best part of the game for me.
When do they usually release the prices on these games?
The day of the sale or when Major Nelson posts them.

Looks like from doing a tally of everything with it being 50% off and 33% off or so on the Borderlands 2 season pass, I'm going to be spending at least 6000 MS points. This without counting the two unknown one day deals and the 12/25 DOTW. Once more, thank God for all those point deals from MS Store and Target.

The zombie apocalypse has arrived! Play all five episodes of this acclaimed series, with the first one FREE for one week starting December 25.

I assume the motivation to give away Episode 1 is to hook the customer to impulsively buy the remaining episodes. Even if someone had no interest in The Walking Dead, how can you pass on a free game? Once you get started, how can you not continue?

I'm hoping that list is legit. Lots of good stuff on there. Hopefully one of the GoD is Deathsmiles IIX, since they didn't put it on sale last year and the one time of year it would make sense to put it on sale is Xmas.

Eyeing: Mark of the Ninja, Simpsons, Hell Yeah, Dust, BL2 Season Pass (if price is good, but probably only 25% off)

Unsure if this any different than whats in the OP but damn, I like what I see.

Got lots of msp, thank you Bing Rewards. Thinking Deadlight, Walking Dead, Borderland 2 Season Pass, Fez, Mark of the Ninja and Plantz vs Zombies.

All dependant on how much they are taking off...Oh, and probably Skyrim stuff because I must support their awesomeness.

From what I've heard and read Mark of the Ninja is a solid stealth 2D platformer. I will pick it up. Dust demo was fine, nothing special for me. If your really into game that have you play as God.

Oh dear god I hate MW3, have you even played it? MW2 was great, MW was the best. BLOPS was refreshing and BLOPS2 is great IMO.

Yes, that was the list, a great one btw. Now let's see the two days whose content need to be known and the GoD sales. I love to buy GoDs at good price (I don't like to bother with disks, already have a ton).
Dust demo was fine, nothing special for me. If your really into game that have you play as God.
The "Dust" in question here is Dust: An Elysian Tail. I assume you're talking about From Dust.
deadlight was one of the biggest disappointments this year, ia lot of games in this sale should be bought before it
I have a friend who enjoyed Deadlight very much. He's not someone that uses to finish games, but even completed all the achievements of this one (I guess they must be pretty easy, but even so).

Looking for any GoD in particular?
The "Dust" in question here is Dust: An Elysian Tail. I assume you're talking about From Dust.
Oh, my mistake. That Dust has gotten great reviews, haven't played it myself but it has the art like beauty of Bastion, fluid if not simple combat and stuff to do besides the main story. I may have to pick it up.
deadlight was one of the biggest disappointments this year, ia lot of games in this sale should be bought before it
I think it's really a niche game. It seems that the trial and error gameplay and not-so-perfect controls make it tough to like. I too am on the fence if I should get it, maybe if its a big discount.
deadlight was one of the biggest disappointments this year, ia lot of games in this sale should be bought before it
Deadlight was great in the first act and then fell off a fuck cliff.

I won't get my hopes up assuming everything is 50% off. They won't all be. I think the Walking Dead Episodes only drop to like 320MSP each.

I've never bought a Game on Demand, but if Toy Story 3 drops to 800 points, I may actually go for it. I've heard amazing things about the sandbox/toybox mode. Who has played it and can recommend?

I meant Dust: An Elysian Tale

But I queded up both the trials to see which one I like more (unless, of course I pick up a points card).

Good idea, I always try demos and trials if I am unsure. That usually finalizes things for me.

Anyone hoping I Am Alive somehow ends up on the sales? Why don't they just discount it to 50% off. It hasn't done great with its middling ratings and high price point. I have nothing against the game itself, seems interesting enough to me. Just think they could benefit from a strong sale. Anyways if it does end up on sale for 600msp, it will be mine.

I actually liked the story mode more than the sandbox mode. The story mode had some fairly good (and decently challenging) 3D platforming, something that we don't get much of any more.

Sandbox was OK, to me it was easier than the story portion of the game and some of the missions were kinda lame. Still, the game is worth 800 MSP, although I personally would hate to buy it on GoD myself because the file sizes kill my 120GB Xbox.

I recently updated to a 250gb slim from a 120gb elite. For a few months there, I was at about 2 gigs empty space. Now, I'm flush with space, i can swim in it.

I said that a year ago when I up'd to 250GB. Now I have to keep clearing space. Mostly from me installing and downloading things I really don't need.

But I agree, it does feels great.
