Sweet. I was starting to regret selling Rail Yard, looks like I made the right decision.
Is GH the Gold deal of the week or open to everybody?
Guardian Heroes? That's a Gold deal. If you can't jump in because of that, sorry :(

Has anybody noticed that Doom II dropped to 400pts too?
I was doing a quick search on XBLDB and this popped out of nowhere... just in time for some retro horror blasting night, I guess ;)
so why have them in the Shocktober promo tab... anyone without CAG is not gonna realize they aren't included lol. What a stupid promo this has been.
Ya I personally find the Rewards program in general to be pretty stupid, except for months when you get 5% back on everything.
Just bought Pid. I think 800msp is sweet price for this game. :)

If anyone is interested in PC version, apparently it's DRM free.
Looks like a cool game, but since I wouldn't play it now, I'll just wait for a sale.

What's the usual delay before a game is released as a GoD? I'm wondering when Transformers Fall of Cybertron will show up. Also do they initially release at $60, or a lower price?

Sweet I only need another $18 of content to buy before the end of today to qualify!

Check Xbox lives GoD list to get a better timeframe, but I think it's like 4-6 weeks right now. Not sure the reason for that, ps3 can do it day 1.

I bought Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Vampire Smile. Then I bought Dead Block because I thought that it being included in the rewards promotion was a no-brainer (no pun intended). Dead Block isn't even listed as being part of the promotion on the "official list." I guess games about zombies aren't horror-themed. The rest of the stuff either isn't on sale, is cheaper on PC or physical copy, or looks like crap. I'm disappointed at how inept the Xbox Rewards staff is.

Yeah I literally can't find a single way to fill out my remaining points... I already own the dead rising titles and most other items.. and then the few things that should work and i would get dont qualify, so frustrating.

Should I purchase Dishwasher Smiles now or wait til Nov. Maybe they'll have another promotion then...but then again, the Dishwasher sale will only run this week....decisions decisions

I never liked the older style Resident Evil games, like 1 and 2. So I skipped most of the series. I did like 5 though since it was more action/shooter oriented.

Is 4 like the older style or more like 5?

it's like 5 but good.

Are you asking whether you should buy it now for 400msp or wait and hope that it goes on sale for the same price again in the future?
it's like 5 but good.
I actually liked 5 a good amount. But yeah, 4 is like 5, but way way better.

good point

It kind of boggles my mind to read so many questions about what type of game Resident Evil 4 is. I bought a Gamecube for that game. And man it was awesome. Hope the newcomers give it a shot. Quickly, I'd rate it in my top 5 console games ever.

Apparently, even though the Shocktober deals are supposed to last until today, October 31, Xbox is taking down the deals. I tried buying RE4 today and it was 20 bucks instead of 10. I looked at Bioshock 2, and it was also 20 bucks instead of 10. What gives?

7 years after launch AND WE'RE STILL GETTING fuckING OBLIVION SALES.

At least Guardian Heroes is on sale next week...too bad I got it at full price last year. Amazing game, still have my SS Memory Cart with a 100% file on it.

Well actually I mean for those of us who already completed the shocktober thingy and have their points already pending should we buy dishwasher today on wednesady or wait til tomorrow november and hopefully have that game be included in our november download or what have you
I mean the sale runs for the entire week so whether or not to buy it today after is the real question get what im saying?
Farsight's publisher is bankrupt. Microsoft requires a publisher with a current Publishers Licensing Agreement, Sony doesn't. They're trying to get a new publisher. Probably three months before we get new tables on the 360.
Nooooo! My points expire at the end of the year and I can't live with myself if I don't own all of the tables. Except Rocky and Bullwinkle, because that table is terrible.

If you've already completed the October rewards, there's really no reason to buy it now. Just wait until tomorrow or anytime before Tuesday to see if it will count towards the November rewards.
That's depressing, found this over on Gamefaq's.

Here's the PSN schedule for new tables vs. ours. Sucks, we are 4 tables behind them. :bs:
Hopefully they release a bunch of tables at once when they find a new publisher. Microsoft charges them $45k for every update, so I think their plan is to release as much per update as possible.

...so RE4 is back to $20, again... and Dead Rising 2 is full price now. But the arcade games (Ugly Americans and American Nightmare) are still on sale.

Man, what the hell?

You'd think by just the gameplay screen shots that people can tell it doesn't play like the ones before it.

If you can stand its control scheme (or customize it yourself, mind you), it is one of the best examples of games tailored to a complete single player experience: the learning curve is designed to make you re-think your strategies more than once by introducing enemies that are not simply thicker bullet sponges, but have peculiarities that curb or nullify your previous tactics, so you often have to ponder and react very fast. Furthermore, after finishing it you unlock a higher difficulty level, an extra chapter where you control an important NPC and a Mercenary mode much akin to the one included (for a price :booty:) in RE5.

It is not without flaws, obviously: for instance, you have to escort and protect an NPC most of the time, which can lead to some frustrating sessions due to his inability to fend off enemies who instead can and will try to kill or abduct him (needless to say, if they succeed it's game over). Plus, even if its a really good game IMO, it is not a scary game and marked the series shift from survival horror to a more action-oriented style. As much as I love it, I still cannot avoid thinking how much I'd have liked to play its beta embodiment...

I think it would probably be wise for Microsoft to keep the sale going through the whole day, but seriously, these games have been on sale for 9 days. Anyone who wanted any of them should have picked them up by now.

Just noticed that myself. I wonder if it's a last-minute Shocktober sale, or a permanent drop. Either way, it does qualify for the Xbox Rewards October offer.

It would be wise, plus they were advertised as being until today, one would think that means the end of the day. As for why someone didn't purchase it yet, there could be many reasons. Maybe they didn't have the points/funds until now for whatever reason, maybe they didn't have the access to do it due to a storm induced power outage or some other reason, maybe they were waiting to see if they wanted to spend their points on the upcoming Gold deals that were just announced. Regardless of the reason, it is a valid expectation that if a game was advertised as being on sale until today it still would be.

Yeah, those people in control of my paycheck are so stupid, aren't they?
Yeah, those people in control of my paycheck are so stupid, aren't they?
That was part of what prompted my response also, some people only get paid at the end of every month. (My wife's job and one of mine is like that, so I can relate.)

I'm not as annoyed as my smartass response would seem to convey but I did think what he said was laughably ignorant. I am annoyed that I can't score the game now that I have a better idea of what I'm able to spend for the coming days. But if nothing else, Resident Evil is so prominent a franchise that it's bound to be on sale again, hopefully at 800 and not 1200.

I'm not going to continue this conversation because it has probably been played out apprx. 1000 times already on CAG. I'll just say that if you honestly had less than $20 of spendable money to your name before today and you honestly got paid sometime today and now you don't have the opportunity to buy the games you wanted at the sale price, then I'm honestly sorry.

But if you just procrastinated and missed the sale, then I find that funny.

I'll also mention that MS is notorious for doing this on ANY sale that doesn't fit into their pre-confined Tues.-Tues. schedule. I even mentioned it on the 28th.

I try to budget my stuff out after having slaughtered my funds time and time again over crazy amounts of gaming deals. I used to buy absolutely every XBLA game that went on sale. The last several months, not so much. I moved from two part-time jobs that consumed my entire life to a full-time job that turned out to be hell on earth, then I ran from that and have spent the last little while finding my footing while my girlfriend recovers from being laid off a whopping month and a half after scoring a traveling photography job. (Edit: She fortunately was able to recover her prior job and was even immediately promoted, so don't feel too bad for me, but we've yet to see the first check from that come in)

I guess you could argue against me spending any of my money on games, but hey, you've already been enough of a rude dude. Sorry that I skim over your mostly uninformative posts and didn't catch your all-knowing prediction. I'll be sure to pay you every bit of attention I can, oh wise and privileged one.
Dark Inchworm, Tyler wasn't rude an you're really jumping down his throat. You should drop it like a Hot Pocket.
Right, maybe not "rude," but not exactly apologetic. I said "rude dude" just because I am that thrilled with rhymes. :p

I have nothing else to say about the matter and would love to move forward with the usual, talking about deals and other silly shit.
Why would anyone want to drop a Hot Pocket?
Why would anyone be happy to hold a Hot Pocket?
