RedJoey, are you going to put Street Fighter III on the release schedule sometime? That blank spot where it goes looks awfully lonely.

Thanks for reminding me. Consider it done

Torchlight was on sale in July, so if you purchased it like I did then you've got 1 more game to buy @ 800 msp or more to get the 200 msp back from xbl rewards. I'm just going to get Triggerheart Exelica because I know it'll probably never go on sale and it's been around for several years. It's got gamerpics by the way included.

As for Soul Calibur, if you're referring to the original port that is on XBL Arcade it does not have any online multiplayer. I bought it a long time ago and it's okay, but repetitive.

"Single Player, Local Multiplayer 1-2, HD (High Definition). Fighting game perfection in now back in your hands, this time to the Xbox 360! Play as one of the 19 characters on a mission to acquire the Soul Edge! Do you have what it takes? Now on Xbox Live Arcade, SOULCALIBUR is completely reworked with HDTV support, Leaderboards and of course challenging Achievements."

If you wanna get a fighting game on xbla, i'd say get a King of Fighters game and people still play them online.

Resident Evil 4 HD and RE: Code Veronica X HD Priced and Trailered. 1600 ($20) Microsoft Points each.

Resident Evil 4 HD will be the first to arrive in stores and on Xbox Live Games on Demand for a price of £15.99/$19.99 in the shops and 1600 Microsoft Points for download. It'll be available from September 20th in North America and Europe, with Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD to follow the week after on September 27th in North America and Europe for the same price tag.
Both games include all of their bonus content too, with Code Veronica X being the definitive PS2 version of the Dreamcast title and Resident Evil 4 including the PS2 release's extras such as Ada Wong's 'Separate Ways' epilogue campaign.

ok thanks i guess ill get some other time . My hunt continues then

Hey, does the Microsoft Game Studios DLC go off sale today? I want the Reach maps but I don't know if I'll be able to get a card today.

The Writer & and calorie challege for me. Start up those two games sometime soon. Finally, have both reach packs now. Busy. Busy.
hey, i can only buy 1 Reach map pack, so which one is most likely to go on sale again?
whichever one came out first. you should buy the better map pack though, if one is claimed to be better by most;

Wow, for the crazy amount of hype From Dust was NOT that impressive. I'd perhaps get it on sale for 600, but there's no way I'd drop 1200 on it. As far as the Summer releases go I'd definitely buy Bastion before I'd buy this.

I'm probably not the one to answer this, but I'd say if you are going to play Mass Effect 3 it's worth it, since it bridges the gap.

Agreed. Playing the demo now and it's just not as compelling as I'd hoped, and the control is a bit rough. Bummer.

Looking at the items on the list that HAD been on sale previously:
All the Crackdown 2 stuff
All the Forza 3 stuff (multiple times)
All the Gears stuff
All the Halo Wars stuff

I know for sure all of these were on sale since I had bought it before this sale. Reach / Halo 3 were the only two I didn't have. Part of me thinks Halo 3 was on sale and I just skipped it because of the one pack being a code in Halo Wars.

Basically, your chances of this stuff going on sale again are pretty high. Very surprised Fable II stuff wasn't included (it had all been on sale as well)

I ended up buying Outland to get the 200 points (I picked up Torchlight earlier).
Outland feels like it should be 1200 points, so picking it up for 800 feels like I got it on sale. Now to stock pile points for August sales.

I too picked up torchlight so I feel compelled to buy another game at 800, but cannot find the deal, game I want that I couldnt wait for it to be dotw, oh well,

For those looking for an alternative to spend their 800 MSPs for the 200 MSP July rewards, may I suggest Interpol?

Certainly not for everyone as it is one of those find-the-hidden-object games. But I've never seen it go on sale (yet) and it is one of those obscure titles that might interest a select few here. And for others who do know of other obscure XBLA titles I'd like to learn more of them. (eg: Dream Chronicles which sadly has been delisted)

Just a suggestion that's all. Otherwise there are plenty of other 800 MSP and above XBLA titles to choose.
I have heard it's a 4 hour game.
Based on my playing time thus far, 6 to 8 hours to power through and beat the game seems like the actual range (and this accords with what people on other forums are finding); I should be able to confirm over the weekend. To gather up all the remaining ship upgrades/unlockables, I think you'd be looking at 8 to 12 hours. There's also the multiplayer mode and download content is prominently featured on the main screen of the game, so it's at least possible we'll see mini-campaigns/worlds in the future. The length/price ratio seems equal or superior to the other main games in the genre (Shadow Complex, the three DS Castlevania games, the 3 GBA Castlevania games, the 2 GBA Metroid Games, SOTN, Super Metroid etc).

For me, Metroid-vania games on consoles are so freaking rare that I'm happy to support developers who actually dare to release such games. This is especially true when the game has such phenomenal aesthetics (IMO) and offers a new spin on the genre (using a spaceship rather than an individual character).

Just my two cents. I can completely relate to length being a deterrent (I waited on a sale on Limbo for just that reason, although admittedly Limbo was roughly a third the length of ITSP), but it just wasn't a factor this time for me.

I'm bummed about the RE:4 and RE:CV prices. I guess it's sort of like the God of War collection which debuted with 2 games at $40 but then, it was on a disc and dropped to $30 pretty quickly. Without disc releases, the wait for a sale on the RE games will likely be long indeed. Although Capcom has put most if not all, of their stuff on sale eventually.

Don't forget you can click on an offer (full games are offers) to see if it has ever been on sale before.

From the list I linked I think I'll get one of Eets: Chowdown, Outland or Fancy Pants Adventures, in that order.

Eets has never been on sale and it came out 2007-04-25 so I'll take one for the team so it can have a price drop in August. I'm sure it's bound to happen as soon as I press buy, boom price drop or sale.
Is Final Fight good? What about the other game it comes with?
ALso good find for that list Spylon
It's my site so I added the page. I don't work on it much but it does come in handy.

Fancy Pants has already been on sale on PSN so I would argue against it solely for that reason. I would expect a similar sale on XBLA sometime before the year's end.

Final Fight is good and the other game it comes with is also good. They're raw arcade games but you get a level select now so they're fun.

Eets can be had on PC.

I'd recommend Deadliest Warrior Legends. It's dumb but AWESOME. Alternately, Outland. Fancy Pants Adventures looks alright but I can't see myself enjoying it from that scatterbrained demo.

If you want to dig deep? Bionic Commando Rearmed, also on PC. Carcassonne. Catan. Exit. Gel. Guwange. Lode Runner. Poker Smash. Soltrio Solitaire. Strania. Dishwasher 1 and 2. Ticket to Ride. Wik and the Fable of Souls.

These are all games I enjoyed enough to buy (Except Guwange) and thought worthy of my time. I make no specific guarantees as to their quality but they should be worth a look. Too lazy to itemize and rank by must have rating.

Good news then retail was confirmed for both (separate disks though)

I believe that site is wrong

Thanks for that list! I didn't know the new magic the gathering was 800. Can anyone recommend it? I liked the demo and bought the first one at full price. I don't suppose they added full deck editing?

The last game I paid full price for was full house poker. I enjoy it and you can still easily find players online so I can recommend it.

I think the new one is great. They've expanded deck customization (you can now remove any non-land cards from the decks in order to make room for new cards w/o increasing deck size + it auto adds additional land as you expand deck size). I think that's the most we'll ever see in regard to deck customization, as it seems they (understandably) want to keep full deckbuilding an exclusive to MTG Online.

Yeah your right. I also played Eets, it's not as much fun as I remember, but I did play the trial 3 to 4 years ago.

I would like for 800 MS points to be the max a new game launches at and that means I should buy a recent game. This means I may go with Outland, but I know a sale (I feel it in my bones) for it is coming so that make it really hard to pay full price.

Maybe I should skip on the "reward" and save 400 points when one of these games goes on sale.
X360a has no source noted and a capcom rep responded 8 hours ago. I think I'll believe him.

+ x360a is wrong consistently
Joystiq was where I actually got the info from...

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/23/resident-evil-4-hd-and-re-code-veronica-x-hd-infect-the-us-this/

and this site...

http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/r...4_hd_ps3_xbox_360_release_date_confirmed.html

Plus the x360a link as I mentioned above.

I watched the actual panel, however, and they make no mention of a retail release...

If a Capcom rep confirmed it, they didn't mention it on the panel, and it's unavailable for pre-order I'm guessing ONE SITE got it wrong and then everyone just copied from them?

My fault for believing what I read without checking the sources I suppose... also my fault for thinking Capcom would release something that fans would actually want.

Just an fyi to people who may have bought forza 3 pre-owned & didn't get the download card in the box.

If you (like me) got bored after 4 seasons, you can make it easy to get to level 50 & then have your hired driver finish the last few seasons if you get the benchmark track dlc.

Then go to private multiplayer with these settings

Track: Benchmark Layout E
Max Players: 8
Max AI Players: 7
AI Difficulty: Hard
Laps: 50
Damage Difficulty: Simulation
Collision Mode: Always On
End of Race Timer: 00:05

you get 10k xp & 14k credits in about 6 minutes
In actual deal news, I'm still considering the Fable III DLC... always hate to buy DLC for games I haven't even played yet : /

I ended up getting Soul Calibur and Bubble Bobble Neo. The former was a lock and the latter was purchased to play with my brother who is a nut for Bubble Bobble and since I was buying at his house to share it I thought it was the best choice. I really wanted to buy TWN and Strania too but they will have to wait some more. I console myself with the fact that TWN is still fairly new so I can hope for the sale that will never come.

Buying old games that will never go on sale is absolutely the best way to take advantage of the buy 2 800+ games get 200 back promo.
This. ^

Didn't realize some of the Forza stuff on sale wasn't included in the F3 Ultimate.. hmm.

Also didn't know SC lacked Online, but.. I might bite anyways. Thanks for all the people recommending 800 MSP titles to buy, glad I'm not the only one who was fishing for something not on sale.

The Microsoft Studios Sale is accessible via the Xbox console so I assume it'll be a week long thing, so I'm going to hold off 'till Aug. 1st in the hopes that there will be some form of Rewards kickback.

@ Wampa8Jedi, Fable III is currently $20 @ Walmart.com and $22 on Amazon, if you were looking for a good price point to pick up the game.
BobbyTastic - Thanks. I actually have a copy of it... but it just looks so good in the backlog pile :p
You're telling me. x_X I'm just glad the budget is tight currently, there are so many deals I've wanted to pick up this week alone. And of course this is the week the XBLM and GS both have some solid sales.

Going to bite on Pub Games + SC now, here goes.

Soul Calibur is a great choice, but are you sure you want to pick up Fable II Pub Games? I only ask because I believe that these games are included as part of the gameplay in Fable 2, but I could be wrong. I am just going by this Wikipedia entry.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fable_II_Pub_Games

Of course, if you just feel like supporting Lionhead Games, by all means. :)

Just got back from playing SC, even though I own all 3 versions of SC2, SC3 and SC4, I couldn't resist jumping on this game right away. It's well worth the 800 (700 in this case), especially if you've never actually owned the real game. It's an easy 200G as well, I'm already halfway done.

As for Pub Games stuff, I'm well aware, I spent ages trying to figure out what exclusive benefits were to be had from the LE and Pub Games, and Pub Games (while no longer necessary for Fable II achievements) does have some exclusive benefits. That, and the "glitch Lionhead claims isn't a glitch" gives easy gold if you don't patch it. I'm too much of a complete edition whore for my own good. And Pub Games has been on sale since it's release.. once, for either 400 or 600.. so I figure getting it for 700 is the best I'll ever do.
I'm also facing the same 800 MS point game and I couldn't think of all the 800 MS point games so I created a page to list them all:
http://xbldb.com/browse/arcade-games/800-ms-points/

Any new suggestions because of the list?
I'm huge advocate for Beyond Good & Evil, and I don't understand why I'm the only CAG on my friends list that has it. It's an incredible value at 800 msps for a single player game.

The only reason I don't own that game is because it does not have a proper camera invert option. Anyone who typically inverts their vertical look, I strongly recommend checking out the demo before you commit to a purchase.

This.

Good game, I like it alot, but the camera made me mad alot while playing it

However, if you own the original on the DC like me, it's best you stick with that version since it has some content that is not the the XBLA version.
