XBLA - Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - 400pts
if you wanna be ghetto with smoke and you hit a teleport just do jump kick, air throw

does a lot of damage and requires no skill
I've been doing teleport, spear, 4 or 5 hit combo = 40% damage.

For some reason, I can't get online to play a game, it won't let me join any matches.

It seems to be a bug. Don't join games, create games. I think that's the only thing that works. When you create a game, it matches you up fine with someone.
Smoke has got a real easy combo I figured out that does 40% damage, and all you have to do is land the first hit and the opponent is stunned for the rest.
Smoke is the most abused character online. Anytime I see someone play him (unless it's human smoke), my respect level goes down for them. Too many people play the same characters... I'm sticking with reptile, but have yet to see a single reptile player.

If someone picks smoke, just leave the game. Pretty soon people will get the point.

Haven't seen too many Nightwolfs either

Wait, if everyone is making games, how will anyone join?

I use Reptile, but my lord am I a long way from the MKII days. I see people abuse Human Smoke just as much as Cybernetic Smoke.

Human Smoke = Scorpion, for the most part.
Wait, if everyone is making games, how will anyone join?
Because I think it's lying. When you create a game it's also matching. I could be wrong, but it will get you in a game quickly.
Human Smoke = Scorpion, for the most part.
You're not serious right?

Human smoke is 100x better than scorpion. better combos, better rushdown.

Rolento I'll play you some reptile/reptile matches if you want send me a FR if you're down
yea human smoke is scorpion minus air throw i believe
Different combos.

Human Smoke has the LK LP launcher, which makes for some pretty nice combos.

The analog stick is a little better than the d-pad for this game, but I still accidentally jump too much for my own good; much like in SFII:HF.

I've yet to fight Shang Tsung online. I've seen everyone else like, one time.

I was really happy that I fought a fellow Sonya. She whooped my ASS.
And I was happy :)

If you unlock the characters (Sub, Mileena, Ermac), can you play as them online?
If you unlock the characters (Sub, Mileena, Ermac), can you play as them online?
Yeah. As long as the host of the game has them, anyone in the room can use them.

OK I think I have found a 100% reproducible crash bug. I've heard it mentioned here already, but it's happening to me every time.

-Go to Multiplayer
-Go to Custom Match search
-Search for a Custom match
Repeat this 3 - 5 times.

Your xbox will have a hard lock up that can only be escaped by hitting the power button on your console.

It is amazing to me that a class 1 bug so easily repeatable got passed both Midway and MS's QA departments.

I've had this happen to me like 10 times.

amen to that...

some Reptile goodness:

I use Stryker, Sub Zero, Jax and Sindel most of the time.

I have been cheaped by smoke a bunch of times but its not really a big deal.
I just pay attention to the gamertag name and then if I get him again in the match I just jump out.

Damn too bad you can't customize the controls. the DOA stick would be great for this. ah well guess I better learn how to use the dpad for this.

aside from reptile, I want to work on my stryker since its very humiliating to lose to a security guard that stuffs his shirt with burritos... plus you can spam the hell out of his grenades.

Wow, after you get hit once with someone that knows how to use him like that... 89% damage jeez

crazy. that doesn't look to difficult to pull off. you could easily learn that in an hour or so. the only problem would be that first straight jump punch. if you pulled it off in a match, chances are it would be more towards the middle of the stage for less damage.

its always harder than it looks. Also you don't really need jump punch. You could just start it with a standing LK.

Yeah and if I play against someone who just seems to be trying that cheese combo over and over, my response will be: Start -> Exit Game.

if you get to the corner its actually much easier to do

just do jump kick standing hp gun repeat

i dunno why whoever did the combo stoped at 89%

Thanks zewone, but does the Ultimate Kombat Kode screen give you a limited amount of time... if so my brother will fuck it up everytime

I dont post much but thought I would just share my sadness with you guys. MK is my favorite series ever and I am so sad I cant play UMK3 with you guys yet lol. I am not going to get my 360 till about the 10th of November. I already have poits for UMK3, I just hope you guys are still playing then lol.
so is this worth the 800 pts? better games coming out anytime soon?
It's pretty fun. Whether it's worth 800 points? I don't know, depends on how much you loved it in the arcade. IGN doesn't think it is.
so is this worth the 800 pts? better games coming out anytime soon?
It's VERY addictive when you begin playing it, IMO worth 800... although I wouldn't have argued if they put it at 400, but def worth it

Gamespots review of it is up... And here is an excerpt:
a fully functional online version of UMK3 with minimal hassles--should probably be enough to justify the game's $10 price tag...........If you've ever been interested in online fighting games or Mortal Kombat in general, this game's worth adding to your Xbox Live Arcade collection.

yep. only a limited time. good luck.
I quit. Endurance Round Jade = Cheapest CPU A.I. ever.
You know, I find the cheap AI frustrating and annoying. But not nearly as frustrating and annoying as some of the "rinse and repeat" tactics you come across online from real players.

well, if you fall for repeated tactics every time...
well, if you fall for repeated tactics every time...
Some repeated tactics, especially with smoke, are extremely hard to stop. Even if I am a shitty player (I am).... It's just mind-numbingly annoying whenever you play against anyone in any game that is looking for an "I win" button to spam instead of play the game.

Wait for him to teleport, hold block, then uppercut, repeat
