Microsoft this morning confirmed part of the bundle rumor that's been ravaging the Internet for weeks: All Xbox 360s and Xbox 360 Elites will now come with free copies of Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, a $90 value.

Nice to hear the double-game bundles are finally back. Hopefully they keep bundling such great games, too (as opposed to the Tetris Worlds crap they started resorting to on the OG Xbox)

Hot on the heels of a price reduction for all Xbox 360 consoles, Microsoft is now giving holiday buyers even more value by including two great games with every Xbox 360 console and Xbox 360 Elite, a retail savings of $90 for consumers. The acclaimed "Forza Motorsport 2" (Microsoft Game Studios) and "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" (Activision) will both be included for the recently reduced prices of $349.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 and $449.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 Elite. Both bundles will be available retail-wide by the end of October.

Thanks, I want to make sure that I get a Falcon, so I guess I'm going to wait until I see it on the sticker to be sure. It should happen soon, now that the Pro/Elite bundles are coming out with the 175w labels.
 
Just got my 360 Pro from Buy.com today. Afraid to open it since the stats on the outside sticker say: Team FDOU, Lot # 0742, Manufacture date 10/19/07, Wattage says 203W though. Someone else here bought one from Buy.com almost on the same date as I did and said they had a Falcon. Smoger, I think. I guess the only way to know for sure is to do the old flashlight test but that involves opening her up......... I'm also expecting an Xbox 360 from Amazon on Wed (they wouldn't cancel my order in time) but was planning on refusing the shipment. Now I don't know what to do. Sometimes knowing these revisions about Falcons and Zephers and different power bricks can drive you crazy! When I bought my Wii, I just went and bought one (it did have that graphics chip glitch and had to be replaced) but this is stressful.........
 
I saw my first "Go Big" Elites at Best Buy today. The new box has the product label in a different location, and ALL of the boxes had the original label (with lot number, PSU wattage, etc) covered by another same-sized label which did NOT have that info. So unless it's been determined that all Go Big units are Falcons, you may be back to the flashlight test.
 
so what's my best bet to get a falcon chipset?

I'm probibly picking up a replacement 360 this week and would prefer to get an arcade [salvaging my hard drive from a crashed 360] but if i can be absolutely sure that i can get an elite with the falcon set, I'll pay the extra money.

If it says 175w on the sticker then it is guaranteed that it is a Falcon chipset.
 
At this point I think you'd have to be very unlucky to get a non-falcon 360 anymore. Of course you're more likely to if you shop at a store that doesn't move them often.
 
Thats me. I just got back from CC. They only had Halo editions out on the floor, so I couldn't pick through the Pros. They brought one out from the warehouse. I asked if I could lift up the new sticker and look at the old sticker to see the wattage. He said he knew it would be good because it said "Go Pro" on the box and that means its the new ones with the problems fixed. :roll: I would have told him I knew for a fact that was false because of testamony here, but it's a well established fact that CC managers are total asshats and really don't give a damn what you want. So, I bought it and went to check under the sticker in my truck. 203w. -_- Really didn't want to turn around and have to deal with him again right away, so I just figured I do the flashlight test when I got home. I just got home and I failed the flash light test. =( I'm glad I'm going to be in the area again soon as I really hate making the trip out to CC.

In my opinion Best Buy is your Best Bet:lol: They sell them fast and usually have new shipments in on the weekends. When I bought mine a couple weeks ago from BB I took from a stack of like 8 Falcon's. They had the tab on all the boxes removed already so you could see the Manufacture date and stuff on the machine. The Sticker also was labled 175 watts clearly. Every one in the stack I picked from had a Manufacture date of 11/1/07.
 
It's very easy to get a non-falcon. My Best Buy had around a 50-60 assortment of all 360s on the floor and I saw NOT 1 Falcon. They were fairly new and had pack-ins.

All Falcons have HDMI, but not all Xbox 360s with HDMI are Falcons.

so my elite from march 07 died on my a few days ago.. i have the cc plan so i have to mail it to them (sucks because i have to send my hardrive) and then they give me a gift card or w.e for the 479.99 plus tax i paid then...

luckily i have a spare old premium lying around.. but ideally i would want to get another elite.. and ofcourse a new one..

so is amazon not the best bet? no tax and free ship

and where are these 175w stickers?
 
Well its not like they're going to throw away all those components just because theres only a 90% chance they're defective and will die inside of a year.

It's actually easier than it looks. Shine the light above the area you're looking at and you're almost guaranteed to see the coils.

I'm too lazy to look, but some forums have pointed out other Go Big! versions of the Elite without Team FDOU that are indeed Falcons.

I got mine from Amazon, and it was a Falcon. However, some people have ordered from Amazon and not got a Falcon. I guess it depends on what warehouse the 360 would be shipped from.

You can find the 175w on the sticker on the 360 box. It's on the same sticker that you would find the lot number, and the team. The sticker should have 203w, or 175w. From what I have read, 175w indicates a Falcon.
 
Being a cheap ass gamer and all, is there anywhere online where I could get a better deal than the standard $450? Most stores seem smart enough to exclude systems with % off coupons (except Kmart, but my Kmart sucks and didn't have any 360s)

How about the 10% first purchase for signing up for the Target card? I could go to New Hampshire and sign up for that card tax free, of course they never have any elites.

fyi, sharperimage has elites listed to ship on Jan 15th or so and have a 15% off first purchase card that i was told does not exclude 360s, but the shipping is expensive ($35-39) not to mention a possible tax.

So, is there anything out there so i don't have to pay the full $450 other then these credit card offers?

It looks like they're now putting stickers OVER that sticker. The original sticker said FDOU, but the new one said TMEM. The new one on top also lists everything on the first sticker except the wattage. I would say that probably means they're trying to hide the junkers.
I wonder if that means its been refurbished...

How do you know they weren't Falcons?
 
Just got my 360 Pro from Amazon and the label says 175watts on it and Manufacture date of 10/29/07,Team Fdou, so I think I'm Falconized! I now have to return my recent Buy.com 360 (203 watts on label) for a refund. The bummer is shipping it back to California is gonna cut into my savings. Well at least know I'm pretty sure it's a Falcon.
 
I'm hoping the Xbox Arcade Bundle I got from Amazon through their 10 Days of XMas Deals a couple of days ago is a Falcon...

My first X360 console, as my signature states, is away with MS being fixed and I hope the new one I'm getting (from Amazon not MS) will be a little more stable. As for the one returning from MS I will probably just give away to my cousins or something.

if they have it in stock, you could use the buy.com 5% off coupon and save yourself $15. Buying it online and saving tax is a deal in and of itself if you ask me (considering that the elite costs $450).

What's this coupon you speak of? I'm in the boat of buying an Elite right now, and wish to save as much as I can :)
 
Amazon just got the Elites back in stock again and there's no tax and free shipping to CA.

However, they took the GO BIG pic down off their website because of people complaining of false advertising. No way to know if they are still selling the resealed Elites.

unless you want to gamble, kinda lame that you cant get a black PRO non "elite" since I don't see myself filling up 120gigs worth of PIMP MY RIDE tv shows or the other nonsense MS is trying to sell.

Thanks for the update. I am sick of looking arround town for a newer elite. I just ordered from amazon. I save tax and shipping. Now i have to hope its a falcon. I think the odds would be good as they keep selling out. I will update when i get it, keeping my fingers crossed that its a 175w falcon

I actually got a Elite bundle from them last month (repackaged June Manufacture date) and it says I have until January 31 to return it because of the holiday season.

I reported this earlier. I saw several Elites at Best Buy, all with a second label making the first label underneath nearly impossible to read. I doubt Best Buy would be selling mulitple units as new if they've been refurbished. Or by "refurbished", do you mean MS opened the box, dropped in 2 games and slapped the Free Games sticker on them?
