Originally, Xbox UK stated that purchasing all 4 Block/House Party Titles would net a 400 pt rebate. They have since removed that and not mentioned it. Might be true.. might not
 
Glad to see they are doing more than one DotW again. IMHO, they should do like something from each category. Music DLC deal, Video Deal, Game Deal, and Game add on deal. One can dream right? there is so much content though.
 
im gonna be spending a shit ton of spacebux this next month or so. Definately getting Toy Soldiers and Perfect Dark, and have no clue how much Im going to spend on the Game Room, but the potential is there for mass exodus of points

I played the crap out of this game back in the day, cant imagine it holds up well at all, but I enjoyed Doom on XBLA so might pick this up as well

Graphically, no, but I actually did enjoy it quite a bit when I picked it up (around the time it came out).
 
Game_Dude_3: It's "worth" $5, but only if you only buy that game. Otherwise, I'd go for Family Game Night Disc that can be found for around $20. I don't think it made it to the US DotW. (if anyone wants to confirm since I can't) MajorNelson's podcast stated Battleship and Duke 3D, but it may have been technically right.

Pojomofo: Duke shows it's age. $5 is about the right price for the trip down memory lane.

I had a hell of a fun time playing the demo, couldn't believe I remembered where all the secret rooms and hidden items were.

I'm definitely planning on buying it before the sale's over...and I'm trying to talk my friends into buying it as well so we can do co-op and deathmatch.

If you played this game when it was originally released and loved it, I'd easily recommend the XBLA version for this price.

I enjoyed Battleship. It's a fun game, but not the best from the Hasbro Family Game Night ones. It also has the annoying "turn away, it's not your turn" during co-op.

For 400 points, it's an easy 200 and worth the fun if you like the game in general. If you get the entire Hasbro Disc for $20 it's better, but the DLC is the only way for them to be playable from the Hard Drive.
 
Duke 3d for $5 is a great buy. I bought it when it was first released on xbla and played through most of the campaign coop with my brother.

We use to have Duke 3d lan parties when it was new on pc. One of the greatest competitive titles ever!

I saw that, its a decent deal, I was planning on getting Toy Soldiers and Perfect Dark anyway, If Scrap Metal is any good I may bite on this deal

buying those 3 games to get 1 month+400 ms points 'free' is a damn rip off. you're spending $40 (1600 points x 2=$40) to get 400 points and 1 month free? forget about it. it's not worth it and who is going to play those games often really? i've got tons of xbla games that I can never find online matches so it's just a waste of $. perfect dark is the only decent game coming out and hope it's been worth the wait.
 
Totally snagging Duke Nukem 3D for 400 pts...frankly, I'm looking forward to playing this game more than Perfect Dark. My sense of nostalgia is with playing death matches on Duke Nukem, :joystick: never played Perfect Dark. :whistle2:?

If your buying the games JUST to get the freebies then you doing it wrong. Its a nice throw-in for people who were already going to buy these games.

and Toy Soldiers is going to be fuckawesome
 
Since a lot of people are mentioning Doom, how does that game play on XBLA? Was it made to look prettier? How's the multiplayer? That's also $5 so I might just get that instead of Battleship.

Anyway, the achievements look semi-easy. I love FPS's, so I'mma give Duke a go. I usually can't deny an Arcade game discounted to 400 Microsoft Points anyway.
 
I might go Duke + RE5 DLC with my last 800 points. Still got 60 left over, what can I buy with 75 cents? I kinda want a avatar outfit from a game but those are always $3-4

I am tempted to buy DN3D but is the new DLC for Borderlands coming out this week? I got enough for the Borderlands DLC but not this and that. They say the borderlands dlc will be $10 like all the dlc is they said. So that means 800 msp for borderlands dlc i guess?

I played the DN3D trial and wow i was shocked it is still fun.

Oh why is the Game Room have 2 release dates in the first post? I want that way bad as well and to much stuff i need already.
 
I'm debating buying duke. I was always a doom fan and didn't care for duke. My friend had it before DotW and said it was always dead online, and i've read alot (here) that the lag is pretty bad. I have a ton of MS points from the target deal, but I have always been very stingy with them. I don't like throwing points away. By the end of this week, if a ton of people have bought it and online revives I MIGHT buy it.

I updated the OP with this to help you.

"Games inside Game Room are playable on XBL (360) or GWFL (PC) Prices are: 400 MSP dual-platform (360 & PC) , 240 MSP single-platform (PC or 360), 40 MSP single play."

GiantBomb says the game uses a cloud-syle save system that allows you to start on one platform, save, finish on another later, so that might be appealing.

There are lots of gamers not too happy about the pricing structure. I'm not sold on it personally, but it could do something really amazing and make me buy the initial 30 games (very unlikely I'd spend that much, I might get one or two if it's really good).

I had 600 points sitting on my account yesterday afternoon, I was all set to go home and buy DN3D. I get home to find 120 points, i thought WTF? then looked and saw my wife rented fucking Love Happens for 480 spacebux........:hot::bomb:

Teach wife about Red Box. If you've never signed up before you can even get 1 night rental for free, and reserve it online. Then ask for $6. :)

Just watched a multiplayer video of "Toy Soldiers". Definitely going to buy it when it comes out in like a week.
 
I'm pretty sure this was the thread that was talking about the EA promo... :D

I just got my 800 points from the EA promotion. I had bought one of the Mass Effect DLC packs that were on sale along with Madden 10 DLC and C&C XBLA.

I didn't get an email or message like the last time but I noticed I had 800 points more when I logged in today.
