Does anyone else get really annoyed when you are talking to someone about purchasing a few games or whatever it may be, and while you are talking back and forth on email they continually repost and/or sell some of the items you already were in the process of trying to get.

Anyone else had this happen? It seems to happen to me almost everytime.
 
About a week ago I realized I had barely played my Wii and so far it's been a waste of money. Shawn Elliot at GFW talked about how he traded his PS3 for a Wii so I decided to see if I could do that. Yesterday I traded my Wii with Mario Galaxy and 2000 VC points for an 80gb PS3. Today I go to Wal-Mart and spotted a Wii. I wonder if I can trade it for a new car.
 
So to update my last post. It has happened again... I just got this email:

"I had someone buy them all today. She paid thru PayPal this morning and I have already shipped them all out."

Earlier today I recieved this email from her:

"For those 2 shipping is $4.60 I just mailed 2 today and that was the shipping to Nashville. I have them pulled out for you if you want them."

I have been emailing back and forth trying to arrange to buy these games (she is 45 minutes away and wants to me to pay to ship instead of meeting). I really fucking hate people on craigslist...

edit- forgot to mention that I had also emailed her twice since the first messege today, and no response till someone magically bought them all.
 
I just started looking through CL for deals...is it just my area or does everyone post lots at hundreds of dollars and then not even list what's for sale?

I saw one that said something like this:

"PS2 + 14-15 games $250
I have a used PS2 with games and 1 or 2 controllers $250 obo."

It's happened quite a number of times to me. And it is real annoying.

But I mean, that sort of thing happens even on here, GTZ, TGN, whatever; you see all the big, bold, capital headers "NO HOLDS; WHOEVER PAYS FIRST GETS IT".

Fact of the matter is, Craigslist is hit hard by flakers (the worst of the two IMO) and scammers, so money talks real loud. If you're discussing something through email, there's no way the seller can know whether you're just bullshiting them along or are actually going to pull through. So if someone shows up with cash in hand, why would the seller hold out for you? I dunno if you've tried to sell stuff on CL too, but it's even more annoying when someone flakes on you and it happens all the time.

Because of that, it's really not that hard to see why you have to jump pretty quick to get a deal on Craigslist; I'm sure there's hundreds out there browsing CL and stuff gets snatched up pretty quick. It always amazes me how fast stuff gets flagged.

Having said that, I don't even have a car and I've managed to arrange to get some good stuff. Latest being waiting anxiously for 4 days till this weekend when I finally got home and picked up a Gamecube with a Wavebird and component cables for $45. :bouncy:

It helped to ease the pain of missing out on a real good PS2 deal I had in discussions where I got to school. :bomb:

Karma maybe? Either way, you just gotta keep plugging along at it. :D

Official Dreamcast Casetop - Clear Yellow - $15



At one time, I was a Sega Dreamcast nut. I hacked and modded to my heart's content.
Somewhere in my digging I ran across clear yellow casetop. It is not some clear replacement made by a third party. It is an actual casetop made by Sega. It has the Official Dreamcast symbol inset on the lid, "Sega" screened across the front, and "Designed for Microsoft Windows CE" screened on the lower front. I have never seen one like it on a production machine either here or Japan.

To replace the lid, unscrew the case, remove the original lid, replace with the yellow lid, and replace the screws.

Sorry for the poor picture, but I assure you it looks pristine

Someone should tell this guy that when you are selling used hardware, especially used hardware from previous generations, saying you are actually charging a mark-up is not a good idea.

So, you've got a computer with a single-core processor, a mid-range video card from two generations ago (soon to be three when the 9600GT gets released), only 1GB of DDR RAM, an optical drive that is probably close to crapping out, and a motherboard with a completley obsolete socket type. A total win.

LOL OK, which of you local(Northeastern PA) CAGs came onto CL around here and flagged my post trying to sell my XBox and my collection of mostly common PS2 and Xbox games(94 games, 1 cheat disc, 1 bonus disc) for $450 total?

LOL The only 'good stuff' was like Futurama, Dark Alliance 2, the Silent Hill games and the God Of Wars. Someone was annoyed since I wouldn't break up the lot to suit them though, me thinks.
 
I've heard that good quality fake IDs can go for over $200 easily. Not the kind of money you'd expect a SNES to pull in.
Unless of course that SNES came with a sealed copy of Chrono Trigger...

Some dude just called me at midnight inquring on my laptop for sale. MIDNIGHT, what kind of person calls another random person at this time?!?!!?! Dude was a trucker and was completely new to laptops in general. Had to explain to he what a "windows vista" is lol. Wish I could of recorded it...has some balls calling at this time...but hey, worked for him.

well, yeah, but she's saying she wants a valid ID, which I take that to mean not a fake one. Maybe it's just the way she worded it. Either way, advertising for a fake id on Craigslist is dumb, offering a SNES and two games for one is dumber.

Am I counting wrong or are they counting "baseball, tennis, golf, boxing, bowling and wii sports" as 6 seperate games?
