Some of the kickstarted stuff for Sedition Wars was selling for crazy amounts whne they were first delivered. I'm tallking $300 for the $100 kickstarter bundle. But that died down after the first week. Here's one example...

I ended up getting the $100 kickstarter ediion for $125, which when you account for shipping and paypal/ebay fees probably only netted the seller ten dollars.

But I've seen the Omen kickstart selling for $70 to $100. I think it was originally $40. they're going to do a third kickstarter release this year because of that.
I may have to keep an eye out...

I regret not kickstarting on the RTS game the guys that made Monday Night Combat are doing. You got a cosmetic item for Super Monday Night Combat, but no one of quality even plays that game anymore... :(
I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Tomb Raider port, not the case for you?
I can't even get the game to run. I feel like its fucking the long long ago where games take a shit load of work to get running.

I literally tried every fix on the web to get it running except rolling back my drivers, and nothing works.
Yeah, Joystiq reported that Tr for the PC was more broke than SimCity.
The game has been done for like 2 and a half weeks and SE only gave Nvidia the final game code over the weekend. The earlier build they had was significantly different than the final one.

Anyone here have an ipad with a retina display? I was looking at one at Best Buy but it seemed like the graphics ship wasn't powerful enough for the resiolution. Whenever I tried to scroll on a web page there would be this annoying blur effect. Nothing major, but just enough to bother my eyes and make it impossible to read while scrolling.

Is that common with ipad retina's? Or was it just a bad model because it was a display?

Do you see the same effect with LCD TV's? There is a % of the population that sees the pixel cooldown on LCD HDTV's, making them unwatchable (Ghosting, blurring, etc.)...including yours truly. Its why all my TV's are Plasma.

Could be that, or not.

I'm guess I'm too cynical to do kickstarter. I can't see myself paying for a product that doesn't even exist yet. How do I know it will even be made or delivered? Trust and hope in my fellow man?

Today's goal is to get a haircut. And do something about all this MF'ing dirty laundry.
Morning, OTT.

New StarCraft 2 expansion on Tuesday...that creeped up on me.
March is a pretty good month for games. TR, Sim City, Starcraft, RE6, Bioshock.

Even if some of those games are broken/were broken and are hopefully fixed.

Nope. I've never seen that effect before.

I don't see if with the mini or the regular ipad or other tablets. I only saw it with the retina display model at best buy. But it was my first time seeing the retina display.

Yeah, there have been a lot of great games for the first quarter of 2013 including dead space.

Except for being too easy, Crysis 3 has been a ton of fun. The bow is really great and graphically the game is stunning.

DmC and Metal Gear were two other games that got great reviews. Seems like the game industry is moving beyond putting everything in Q4.

I have the latest model with the lightning port (not sure if that's the one you saw, or the first retina model) and I've never had an issue. I read reddit comments a lot, so I do use it to read text on a white background, and it seems fine to me.

Crysis 3 does seem great so far, though I will echo the easy comments. The cloak plus bow is just ridiculously OP.

Metal Gear may have gotten good reviews, but so far it's bullshit garbage. The first boss was just "Mash square while a Linkin Park ripoff plays in the background" and I wanted to vomit. Fuck Platinum.
Anyone uppins play Tropico? I see its on sale on Steam right now.
The vibe I'm getting is that with the whole SimCity fiasco, it's one of the better choices for city building/management games. It being on sale is definitely not a coincidence.

This new show Fashion Police on E is just as good as Talk Soup. It's hilarious because Joan Riiver makes the show. She says whatever the hell she wants because of ere age and doesn't give a shit.

"There is so much leather on that outfit that she's wearing more dead animals than are in the back of Gary Busey's car!"

And the irony is that Joan riivers is making the harshest cracks but due to all her plastic surgery she has the face of an aborted baby.

I'll get that Metal Gear game when it drops to $20 or less.

Why even buy anything day 1? Just for the thrill?
Wait 6 months, I don't think there's been a game released in the last year that hasn't dropped in price. (excluding Nintendo titles)

Found a great used book store yesterday that only carries Fantasy & Sci-Fi. Everything is half off the cover price, and it's ran by a fat old guy in a sweatsuit who will look up books on his computer to tell you what part of the series they are.

Added a few more books to the 30+ I have yet to read.

Oh yah, the weather is nice here too.

Looks like Tomb Raider got patched and works. The game still needs driver to improve performance, but I can at least play it after I get back from the gym.
I kinda want that new Sim City game.
Me too, but I'm gonna wait for the server issues to resolve themselves...and a clearance sale at Target.

I played it for seven hours last night...yeah...
Casey, how are you liking TR?

I broke down and bought SimCity.
Its pretty good. Kind of like a love child between batman and uncharted. Im like halfway through the game. Played close to five hours last night.

Finishing people off with the pick axe is really cool. I also like the bow. I am glad that Hunger Games got developers to start incorporating it.

Nice. I checked it out at Target last night and it looked really awesome. It looks like they got sick of Uncharted out-Tomb Raidering them. I'll def have to pick it up.

Are there collectibles? I've got Uncharted 3 up on my shelf. Might play that next after Portal 2.
I've got Lego LOTR up there too, and I haven't played a Lego game in forever.

Wonder if this OTT thread will make it to a month. I started it on Feb 14th.
Is that a record?

Yeah there is all types of collectibles in the game. All kinds of artifacts, stuff to salvage to make better weapons, and books that provide back story on the island and Lara's team.

At the current rate, it might last two months.

Skyrim just dropped to $40 MSRP in Feb. 2013, 15 months after its release.

I just replaced my old backwards compatible PS3 with a new slim.

My old PS3 sounded like a jet taking off. It was twice as loud as my PC which has a 1000 watt power supply, four fans, and two geforce cards.

The new PS3 is nearly silent. it's awesome. I can not watch a blu-ray wiothout having to turn the sound up to 55/60.

I always hear that the PS3 is loud but I never actually experienced it. Unless my apartment is a furnace the thing is whisper quiet (though I think the new 360 may actually be quieter).

I have a superslim PS3 and when it is seeking on a game disc it can be very clicky loud. Not really a problem since I put it in the TV stand (instead of on top), but still, that clicking is far from whisper quiet. However when not seeking on a disc, yes it is very quiet.

All the cool kids have 4 XBoxes...One in the Office, one in the living room, one in the Formal Living room, and the 4th off to college with thier kid.

I don't actually know what I'm going to do with the old one. It doesn't have wireless so I either need to wire it into my switch (which means it'll go in the closet with my office TV) or I need to ghetto rig up my spare router into a client again to get wireless signal in the bedroom.

My old PS3 was a gamestiop refurbished and i think they did something to it to make it louder.

But the original ps3s were loud. Cheapy complains about it occasionally on the podcast. I think he had a release 60 gig.
