ZUNE and your X360 - ZUNE HD Now in 64GB - Latest Update Now Supports AVI/XviD

Does anyone know how to manually delete 3rd party apps? It seems that all my trouble started when I installed these 3rd party apps.

The Zune software doesn't see them, only the 1st party ones.

Help?

:(
Jesus! I need to get me one of these Windows 7 Series phones...any word on what provider yet?
A more appropriate question would be what provider first. There will be several manufacturers, MS is just supplying the OS. I would not be surprised to see WIndows 7 phones launch on more than one provider at the same time or in the same month.

That being said, I'm really torn, so far, on WP7. I like the GUI, but the lack of real multitasking is going to be really hard for me to go back to after using WebOS. I've been spoiled.

Ok time to finally break down and ask because this bugs me for some reason. Does anyone know why (and how to fix) the fact that my Zune social card doesn't seem to think any of my music is legit ie it shows the songs as grayed out and the album art won't show on the card itself. Like Plastic Beach and Tom Petty were just ripped directly from the cds this past week. Just about the only thing that does show up (surprise surprise) is stuff I bought directly off the Zune Marketplace and even some of that doesn't show up .. like the Wattstax Soundtrack.

I've noticed if you add artwork via the ZUNE marketplace by right-clicking it always shows correctly .
It might take some digging on your part .

Has anyone had any problems trying to put CAG cast MP3's on their zunes or having the zune software even see it? I put it under my zune music folder where it sees everything else but it only sees ONE CAG Cast MP3, yet I have 6 of them. I checked the folder it's there I even manually told the software to add that folder and it still only sees 1 MP3.

Anyone also know what is the correct size for the thumbnails for the zune hd? I know most of the time the software finds the correct size but there are times where there is no album art and I have to manually find it and everytime I do, it crops the heck out of it :(

I've had the same problem when I manually add any podcast .
It's best to subscribe or DL from the Zune marketplace.
Sometimes I even have to manually add a podcast from the xml link provided on the corresponding site .

As for as Album art goes, I don't use anything less than 300 x 300 when I google image search some art .

I can't find it on the Zune Marketplace.
Just thought it would be easier to just download the mp3's and sync it from there.

As for Album art, still no go.Still getting cropped images :(

Search CAG under Marketplace after selecting Podcasts, and it should come up. It's the first response on the right hand side. I subscribed to it that way.

Are the pics you are using square ?

No, what I need to figure out is what exactly is the thumbnail size so I can convert all the cd's that don't have cover arts in the database (the zune marketplace) and set it up nicely. For example the recently released The Flash 2 disc from Lalaland, well there is no cover art for it, so I had to use some online artwork for it.

I sure do hope the Windows Phone 7 Series phones come out with 16gb of space at VERY MINIMUM.
I've been hearing that they will NOT allow memory card storage, so what the phone comes with, is what you're stuck with. 64gb would be awesome, but I'm guessing highly unlikely.
Come on MS, "BRING IT".

"It" will probably be high expectations and mild disappointment...so close to getting a 30GB Zune HD right now, but 7 Series phones are so close as well

I'm having a problem with my 30GB Zune. I finished syncing it about 20 minutes ago and took it off the dock. The main menu screen came on like normal. I just took it down stairs and now it's dead. Like REALLY dead. The screen won't come on, even when it is on the dock, the software won't detect it, and none of the reset inputs do anything.

Also, it feels rather warm on the lower back of the Zune where (I'm assuming) the battery is. I could be mistaken, but it almost feels like the battery is getting warmer as I type this. I don't currently have the Zune plugged in to anything. Just had it connected long enough to try to get the software to pick it up again; which it didn't. I've had it for over 2 and a half years and this is the first time this has happened. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sometimes my 30GB refurb only turns on when i switch the lock (top of unit) on and off...
Sometimes my 30GB refurb only turns on when i switch the lock (top of unit) on and off...
I thought that maybe the lock got engaged somehow, but it was in the unlocked position and I flipped it back and forth and still got nothing.

I ended up doing a two hour surgery on it this evening. Replaced the battery and then it had a quiet rapid clicking sound(not like when the hard drive is trying to read) when it was plugged in and still wouldn't turn on. Had to bite the bullet and swap out the main board. Put the new board in the old casing with the old HD and it came right up after charging for a few minutes. Something apparently gave way on the old board and was causing my problem. All fixed!:D:D:D

So you have 30GB parts ? My nephew's Halo 30GB has a bad D-Pad .
Any suggestions ?
I have a dead 30GB Richlough, if you want it it's yours...the pad was working last I used it.
Great ! Thanks !

The hardest part about the d-pad is getting everything to stay lined up. The ribbon cable with the buttons and a black rectangular piece of insulation(I think that's what it is) get out of alignment extremely easily when trying to put the main board back into the front half of the casing. You might need to have a second set of hands help you out with it. I did.

If this is your first time opening up a Zune this video should help you out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbZVfWuS54E
Rumors on the Zune forums are that the spring update is imminent. The one with smart dj and avi/divx support.
forget about these dj and avi/divx support, we need some Apps really , really bad now. :(
Yeah I got in on this deal. $218 after tax for the 32GB. I told myself I'd wait till they show some Windows Phone 7 Series hardware, but oh well..!
Haha my 32GB HD arrives in the mail and they announce the 64GB model! Good thing i don't have the $$ for the 64GB model (and i don't really need the storage...). Was worried it'd have extra features.

Anyway, time to figure this thing out!

Is there a way to dis-associated incorrect artist info on the HD? I got a band named Sugar that shows up with The Ohio Players info everywhere

so, now the dilemma.
Do I get the 64gb, wait for an HD2, or wait for the Windows phone 7 series and hope they have at least 16gb of space?

download mp3tag 2.46a and fix your tags manually or select the album and get the proper amazon tags

I'll check the tags, thanks. I am pretty sure Zune is making the connection incorrectly (probably this "Ohio Players" band had an album called "Sugar" or something).

Also, I'm a bit bummed the UI doesn't blow up the album art similar to the old Zunes. It's mostly big letters instead of pictures...

Yea i'm extremely low on space. I've used about 28-29 gigs just in music alone which gives me enough room for one standard def movie. :( If an App store really starts kicking in, that could put me into big trouble. I still have my 120 gig

I don't know if you guys are aware but you can get a free audiobook for signing up for a trial membership over at Audible[dot]com .

I got the last George Carlin book for free .

I did the zunepass for a couple of months. I think if you listen to music a lot (I didn't) it is certainly worth getting. Discover a ton of new artists that way and get lots of pre-made mixes. You can do the 14 day trial and find out for yourself.

There are rumors that with the upcoming update (out any day now) there will be a new zunepass that doesn't include the 10 song credits for cheaper.
So tell me people, are Zune Passes worth getting? What's the deal with them?
I had the 14 day trial...loved it. And when the trial expired, it took away all my beloved new music :(

However, I couldn't swallow the $15/month.

But if you can, I'd say its worth it. Especially since you can keep 10 songs each month.

Now this keep 10 songs per month... like I can pick the songs I want to keep or what? Honestly I would like to hear some of the video game music that they offer because they never made a CD for it or it's OOP.

What happens to those 10 songs if you stop subscribing? Do they lock out?

Umm, I'm not sure what the restrictions are in terms of what you can/cannot download (from what I understand, you should be able to download anything and everything, unless of course the Zune MP simply does not have what you're looking for), but I do know for sure that if you stop subscribing, you can still KEEP your songs and they will NOT lock out.

If you're interested in video game music, I'd probably check the Zune MP to make sure they even have a lot of it in the first place.

If you can afford $15/month and love music, its worth it. I love music, but couldn't afford the $15/month.

Yes, your 10 songs a month are just as if you had purchased them. They are yours forever. The only thing that sucks is that the free song credits do not accumulate. It's use them or lose them by your billing date (Which I sadly found out through experience).

Also, I am surprised nobody has mentioned that the new Zune 4.5 update is out, I imagine just for Zune HD, but now the title of this thread is finally accurate.

It's showing up as an optional update. I guess that means you have to click on settings and go update it manually, otherwise it won't prompt you.

Smart DJ, On-TV Zune Marketplace, More Codecs are the main features.

Well I accidentally washed my Ipod Touch 3rd 32GB in the washing machine along with my bed sheets so after two Ipod touches (8GB 1st gen and this last one) I am becoming a Zune owner. Just bought a 32GB Zune HD from Amazon for $234.
