Earlier this week I picked up a copy of this for $19.99. It was marked $29.99 but apparently had a recent price drop. I don't think a lot of Gamestops still have this but it's worth a shot. Also, here's a tip, if you don't see it on the shelves ask if they have it in the back. Of the three Gamestops I went to looking for it, ALL of them had to check the back room, but only one had it in stock (1 copy)

Also, the MegaMan X Gamecube controller has seen a small mark down to $19.99.
what color was it?
I think there is a silver one but I've only seen the blue one.

The blue one. Was another color released in this country?

dont think any other color was released in this country. Silver was released in Japan. Does Gamecrazy pricematch? They have like a bazillion of them over there. None of the GS around me have any.

Damn..called the local EB and Gamestop in the US for the Slime Controller and none in stock :( ..I'd reimburse the 19.99 price with any additional shipping costs to anybody who would be willing to buy it and ship it to Canada. I'm a huge Dragon Quest fanboy and this would top my collection.

Cheaper than Ebay but who wants to use a wired controller? Cool if you just want to put it on your shelf and look at it though. Only wired controllers I own are for vintage systems...Logitech Xbox and PS2 are great...and Wavebirds for the Gamecube.

I'd really like one, but no stores around here have any. -_- I never buy "gimmick" controllers (Wireless, crappy football, Street Fighter. etc...), this is the first one that has had any appeal.

I bought mine on a pre-order with DQVIII and overall it really isn't that terrible of a controller, a bit different but not a terrible experience. The only thing that is really bad about the controller is the d-pad which is situated in an angled position and doesn't really feel all that great.

I used this controller exclusivly to play through DQVIII because I am a huge DQ fan.

Oh yah and there is one other problem with the controller on mine one of the eyes keeps coming slightly unstuck (the eyes and mouth are stickers), not anywhere close to falling off but enough for me to realize that the eyes are actually stickers.

Anways $19.99 is a great price for anyone who is a Dragon Quest fan, I paid $40 and thought it was entirely worth it.

PeaceOut->

I know my GameStop had one last time I went, but that was a while ago. I'll call my local stores tommorow and see if they have it.

Great price. I'll have to pick it up. Everyone I've heard from so far in reviews says its a great controller and comfortable to use. I've heard its soft too!

Hmm, tempted to get it, but only if I just happen to come across one, not gonna go outta my way for it. DQ8's been good so far, this'll be a nice extra for the experience, plus I do need a controller for 2P, ha. Gotta be one of the neatest controllers I've seen, better then the RE chainsaw. Thanks OP.

I wasn't out to get one, but I remembered this deal and was out shopping today. There were 2 GS and 1 EB in a three mile radius, so I figured I'd just check them out. I picked up two for $19.99 each. Not bad

Thx man, I was going to purchase this upon release, but didn't have enough funds than, and now..seems like it's hard to find and ebay with it's inflated prices will be the place to find these :(...much appreciated for the help though, PM me if you find any extra's.

I saw this thread, and biked to the nearest Gamestop as soon as I could, remember they had one controller.

I arrive just in time to see the guy bringing down the metal gate thing, store closed.

I hope none of you cheapasses live near me.
I'll be there on my bike first thing tomorrow, 20 dollars in hand.

The Street Fighter controllers are not gimmick controllers. They greatly enhance the enjoyment of Street Fighter games, and most 2D games in general.

um no they are not. Get the Saturn pad if you want a good game pad for 2d games.

Called all 3 EB's and 1 Gamestop in my area, and none had any in stock - sorry.

I saw this thread yesterday and ran over to the Rockerfeller center EB store and they had one left behind the counter. So I picked it up. Thanks op!

Of course the Saturn pad is the best 6-button pad, but if you think the regular PS2 or Xbox pad is better for fighting games than a SF 2 pad, you're nuts.

Plus the Saturn pad for PS2 is what, 40 bucks? Converters, sure. But the SF 2 pads are still perfectly good.

sorry but the SF2 pad is such as joke that I might as well use the regular PS2 pad. The saturn pad was $20 for a short time at play-asia but oos now.

Hell yeah I picked up two of those badboys during that sale!

I also have the SFII pads and I kinda agree with both of you guys...

PS2 Saturn pad > SFII pad > Stock controllers

Thanks OP. After visiting 5 stores, I finally found one in Queens, NY (to match the silver one I got from play-asia). I had to ask the store manager, and she told me that they were in the back because they were too big. They also did not selll a single one when they had them out on the floor.

Don't care much for turn-based RPGs, but this sort of item is made once and then never again. He'll sit well next to my limited edition MGS snake figurine (from MGS 2)...uggh, that was the only thing worth owning from the overly hyped MGS 2.

I've always had the opinion that these things were and awesome and have always wanted one. Definitely going to try and pick one up tomorrow before I can't find any at all.

Don't know where you're coming from, 62. A real D-pad (though not a great one) and 6 button configuration is instantly better than using a dual shock.

Being an elitist and only liking the absolute best controllers while hating decent/average controllers isn't cool. SF 2 pads are beautiful and quite affordable, so they're still worth having.

I checked EB yesterday for this and didn't see it out on display...I know I saw it there a month or so ago...should've asked if they had any in the back, hopefully nobody has grabbed it yet and they just threw it back there. I remember randomly seeing somebody driving around with a Dragon Quest blue slime bumper sticker on their car a few months ago. If anyone has already grabbed that one before I got my chance, I bet it was them. :D

There are a few in the Gamestops in Sacramento, but I was told they were priced at $29.99. Is the 19.99 taken at the register?

Apparently, some stores have not changed the price tags. They should ring up $19.99. If you ask them to scan it/look it up in the system, it should say 19.99. If you get any extras, please PM me as I would be really interested in one.
