Screwed by Circuit City on HDTV deal (or "WTF?")

Image retention is not a big issue, that's what you're seeing now. Burn In, on the other hand, is when IR goes to the extreme. Just read some threads on AVS forum about how to properly break in a plasma, and I'm sure you'll be fine. That extended warranty is not going to cover burn in most...

Looking for a "just right" TV...

30" Samsung SlimFit is sold at sears, if they still have any left.

Is this a good time to buy a HDTV? Any tips on getting a deal?

That panny for 1049 was one of the sweetest deals ever. I sell at sears, and every time I sold one of those, it was like the easiest 5% commission i made in my life. Prices will be good for the next several months, but a lot of it will be closeout deals, as almost all of the current TV...

60" Sony XBR HDTV for $1000

    60XBR1 or 60XBR2? If it's 2, it's a smoking deal, 1's still nice though. Should be 1080p.

    Toshiba HD-A3 720p/1080i HD DVD Player + 300 + Bourne - $125 Shipped @ Amazon

It's worth it as an upconverting player now. 2 decent movies, 5 free ones(I think still) even though they suck. And it'll do a damn good job of upconverting your standard DVD's, assuming you aren't buying a BD/PS3 yet. You buy this, you maybe buy transformers or a few other faves on...

Why Do "Blockbuster" Games Go On Sale?

Sometimes the sales are in part initiated by the game company. They'll fund the sale w/ a retailer for a weeklong "rebate" of sorts, whereby each barcode scanned will result in a credit to the selling store. Most likely against future orders. Slightly different type of products, but for a...

    Any thoughts/deals on a Sharp Aquos 1080p 42' LCD TV - LC42D64U ?

I sell TV's and I find that the Sharp has very poor black levels for its supposed 10000:1 contrast ratio. Compared to a lot of other options out there. Black levels were not "Vizio Bad" but nowhere near Sony's or Samsungs. In fact, at one point we were getting paid a high % rate to sell...

    32" HDTV comparison

We sell the first one where I work, and a friend/co-worker recently bought it. He said it was really good for gaming and watching Blu Rays on it. Perhaps the 2nd or 3rd would be better, but he seemed satisfied with #1. Although he said that Cable TV looked like shit on it. Due to the...

    B1G1 Used Xbox Games at GS (1/11 - 1/17) YMMV (B2G1 not)

Picked up Sid Meier's Pirates! and Sonic Mega Collection the other day. Then I went in my email cause I was going to print another copy and saw it had changed. Didn't remember if I had read it wrong the first time or what. Pretty slick how they updated it on the website.

An extra 10% off at Sears w/ card

Usually excludes game consoles, Ipods and some other stuff. May not exclude the PS3 however. Not sure.

Looking for a good CRT HDTV.

Keep looking, you're going to have to shell out a bit more than that I think. Walmart might have a sanyo around that price, if it's not discontinued yet.

Is any other Wal*Mart's doing this?

Ours still had three copies of Tony Hawk 2(i think it was TH2) on the n64 not too long ago. And it might still have them, I don't go in there much anymore. And still has 10-15 FF:CC with gameboy hookup cable. I must have a low markdown store, cause I almost never see anything good go...

How to turn Visa GC into Cash

I'd just ask around, chances are that someone you know will be buying groceries within the week, you give them gift cards, they use them and give you cash. Seems easy enough, anyways. And there's probably no way you can use those gift cards to make a credit card payment.

    Stupid K-Mart return policy

I snagged a core 360 for 224.xx(somehow I managed to get 20 instead of 10). That's the extent of how much I've even used my associate discount there in a year and half. They usually don't give sears employees 10% off of sale prices, so it's basically a useless discount. I'm not driving to...
