EB Games officially no more, changes name to Gamestop.

I remember when Gamestop was called Babbage's, as well as the existence of Software Etc. BTW, was Babbage's a reference to Charles Babbage?

    DX10 on Notebooks

This would be useful for people who want a gaming desktop, yet also want the portability from time to time that a laptop provides. Just unhook and go, yet without sacrificing gaming performance.

    DX10 on Notebooks

Generally, you'll be better off buying a cheap notebook (sub $1000) and just upgrading every year and a half to 2 years. Alternatively, get a laptop with a decent processor and ram but crap graphics card, and an ExpressCard slot, and get one of these...

Play-Asia Tests All Freeloader Versions on the Wii

I've got an older 1.06b and it doesn't work. From what I've heard from other people, it's 1.06B that works.

"No one wants a PS3 anymore. We are asked about the Wii every 5 minutes though."

Sony can still win the next generation! Drop the PS2's price to $100, bring in a new, even smaller/sexier form factor, and start a whole new games push for them! If nintendo can show that graphics don't really matter with the Wii, Sony can oneup them with the PS2! For bonus value, rerelease PS2...

Wii works with freeloader, atleast GC

So they're the same version number, but one works and one doesn't? Couldn't that just be luck of the draw?

    The Wii Code Thread

Ok, I figured out why none of my friend adds have worked... I formatted my wii so my wii code changed! I figured it'd be wired to the console, but apparently it's not. My wii friend code is now 8554 1292 0807 3769, so anyone who's added me.....yeah it'd be nice if you could change that.

What would you have rather had....new gameplay or amazing graphics?

Mmm.....shiny men....shiny, oily men... My 2 cents...better graphics are always an improvement, and I'd rather not have to make a trade off between fun gameplay/control and graphics. Give me everything, no matter how shiny, oily, muscular, and sexy it is.

    Japan gets Super Mario Bros?

Indeed, your pants trickle things out all the time and need patches to fix things no one cares about.

Has anyone successfully hooked Wii to a VGA or DVI monitor?

If your monitor supports manual adjustment of the image, then yes. Due to the way component video operates, there's no way for the monitor to know you're inputting a widescreen image. However, if that's a widescreen monitor, it likely has a stretch to fit option that should work as well as...

Has anyone successfully hooked Wii to a VGA or DVI monitor?

    1. There is only one 480p. So whether that 480p is 854x480 or 640x480 when output, that's all the exists. And that's assuming TVs even output in a discrete resolution, the signal is analog and TV resolution is measured in lines and not pixels so it may not work the same as a PC. 2. The lowest...

    The Wii Code Thread

I'm adding people who have added me, yet they stay gray for some reason. I've got a WiFi connection set up, I wonder what the problem could be.

VC prices -- Stop being a pussy.

Xbox Live arcade also has doom. Ok, so that's a few major classic games, Smash TV, UMK3, SF2, and Doom, not to mention original games like Geometry Wars, a game that could never see the light of day on the Wii due to its "old games only" policy. As far as gametap, well that seem to be doing...

VC prices -- Stop being a pussy.

VC prices are overpriced compared to competitors. Gametap is a similar service, with a wider selection of games (and easily superior right now), and only charges $10 a month for unlimited access to all. Now then, that's more expensive than buying just 1 VC game, but if you make any serious use...

Has anyone successfully hooked Wii to a VGA or DVI monitor?

If your monitor has controls to adjust the image, I don't see why you couldn't just make it widescreen. When a console sends a widescreen image, all it does is use rectangular pixels instead of square(ish) pixels, so even if the monitor's auto adjust (if it even has one) is incapable of picking...

Has anyone successfully hooked Wii to a VGA or DVI monitor?

There are several, but the Vdigi is the most well known one I believe and one of the cheapest. http://www.vdigi.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=36&Itemid=68 Actually, n/m, I believe http://www.x2vga.com/ that the x2vga is the latest and greatest as far as transcoders go. It looks to...

Um. My TV started acting weird when I got my Wii...

The wii did not harm your TV, but it does sound like your TV is dieing. Maybe your TV was already on its last legs, and you had a marathon gaming session upon getting the Wii that finished it off. Maybe the TV was just already dieing and the bright colors of wii games finished it off.
