Always free, but with in-game purchases of aircraft and scenery from what I've heard. It's a simplified/stripped down version of Flight Simulator, in essence. It's probably a better deal to just get FS X Gold for $40 or less.

Right around the time they jacked the price, MS offered a one-time autorenewal at 29.99. I bit, but left an expired cc on the account. It's going to renew next month on the 10th, so I plan on updating the card the day before, then immediately cancelling autorenew and removing the card data...

Not sure I'd classify it as strictly 2D, or even side scrolling...but it's fun, if a bit easy.

I already "owned" SS1/2 HD editions, so I wasn't too concerned. Have you tried installing the bonus content, and still don't see the originals?

All the extra content can be found under the View -> Tools menu. I never went in there before, but there's a treasure trove of goodies for other games as well, such as dedicated servers, editors and whatnot.

Please, everyone buy this game...the devs work in my home state (RI), and we need the jobs like, really, really bad. Not to mention the $75 million in loan guarantees the state made to 38 Studios....if they go under, me and my fellow taxpayers are on the hook... :roll:

I got one of these last time that site had them. They took FOREVER to ship (well over three weeks), but when it finally arrived it did look and work like new. I had the MOMO wheel and it wasn't very good, this one is much better and has the added advantage of working with both PC and PS3.

I recently bought a Raven, and it works fine on my PS3. I have not noticed any lag, but the dead zone is a little bigger than the DS3's...not terrible, and it's easy enough to get used to, but you will probably notice it. I like the controller in general; the size is better for my fat hands...
