So if you get BL: The Pre-Sequal for $4.80 from the triple pack bundle from having the other two, how much does the season pass then cost if you buy that through the pre-sequal & season pass bundle?

I bet if you set all the RAM timings and voltage settings to manual in your Bios you could get all 4 sticks to work. More than likely it's just the spd of one set not playing nice with the other. That was sort of a lazy answer on Gskill's part.

They are OK if you can get one for less than $300 and set expectations for performance accordingly. I wouldn't get higher than the i3 model since the video chip is the real bottleneck and not upgradable. A full desktop & upgraded video card is really the way to go if that's an option.

I e-mailed them early Monday and mine came this morning. Glad they are coming through, I had high expectations after how awesomely they handled Red Faction: Guerrilla and was feeling pretty let down more than anything.

You had to have the franchise pack, and only that pack, bought through steam, and not anywhere else, except GOG apparently, and not the same content piecemeal, except again for GOG which only required the main games and season pass. Don't shutdown your PC with the Steam client still running. Any time Steam doesn't close properly you'll be waiting on that "Updating Steam" window the next time you open it.

Getting this machine without Windows is not a good deal. Getting this machine with a processor faster than the i3 pushing the same 960m GPU is not a good deal. The base Alienware Alpha with the same hardware that has been available since last winter for $330 or less at times has been a good deal.

The flickering lines (horizontal?) sound like vsync is disabled. There is likely an in game setting to enable it, as well as an override setting in your video card control panel. Specks and dots might be a hardware defect, or it might be the video player or decoders you're using.

Fallout 3 will work on Windows 7 and you can use your previous saves. I recently reinstalled it and it initially complained about not having a certain .dll I had to get by installing the GFWL software but I didn't have to do anything with GFWL after that.
