3D Dot Game Heroes - Out Now - Relive your 8-Bit childhood.

Loonknight,

What do you mean by only upgrade if they have a deluxe edition?

I hope they do have an art book and some other stuff; it've never ever bought a special edition of anything, but I will for this.

After the deluxe edition of Demon's Souls, I would definitely get one of this as well. Will hold off on a pre-order until a little closer to see if another edition shows up. Either way, I'm pre-ordering this.

Anyway....

I don't forsee any especially nice goodies for the game.
Super niche, budget priced, and bombed in Japan.
I'm happy the game was made at all.
The shame lays with the people begging and whining about a game not on their preferred platform. Get over it.
Ignorant much? So people are stupid if they didn't fork over close to $1,000 for both consoles this generation? Heaven forbid people would like to play this game (which looks awesomely nostalgic) on their 360 if that's all they own... douche bag.

Agreed.

:reads LPs post:
:cancels preorder:
:calls amazon:

Completely forgot about that. I have like 8 games on a 3x ECA order for 2010.

Amazon denied me adding this to an existing preorder that had an item already ship but not others lady said it wouldn't let her add to the order. I'll try again later with another rep and see what happens lol.

Good news friends: myself and Nirron can confirm this is now eligible for Amazon gold box quick picks! It takes an additional $2 off an already great price!

Yeah, I'm pretty darn stoked for this game. I can't wait until May. Does anyone know how long the game is?

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I can't wait for this game to come out. I originally saw this on GameTrailers when they announced the Japanese Trailers. Bloody Amazing looking game, gimme cubed pixels with bloom lighting and bump mapping :D heh. Such a throw back to Zelda and Dragon Quest. What's even better is that there's a UK date for the game too, and it's within the date as the US gets it! Awesomesause!

Hmmm, user created characters eh? Sounds very cool... there will be tons cool characters, expect Link, Mario and gang, Sonic, Darth Maul etc...

Did any of you look at the Army of Two 40th Day face mask designs? Man, some of them are really cool, love that Robocop design!

I can't see the video right now, but looks like i have to pre-order this one as well.

Got a chance to see this game in action courtesy of Atlus and it's looking like it'll be a great game.

There's plenty of humor in the story from the Japanese version (one character you can talk to is called Dr. Dic and there were plenty of male enhancement-level jokes) that sets the tone as a light-hearted tone. The oversized sword is tied to health along with being able to extend or widen it when you visit the blacksmith. There are a bunch of swords to collect and upgrade, which will require some extended time with the game after you beat the game. There is a New Game+ option and a From mode difficulty that gives you less health and adds more enemies to fight. You can play after you've beaten the game, which allows you to explore the map and unlock secrets and other stuff.

There are three mini-games in the game: a foot race, an Arkanoid-style game, and a tower defense game (think crystal defenders with the ability to attack enemies yourself).

The character creator is really cool, as you can set different models for different actions and then save those characters to a thumb stick or memory stick to put on your computer and upload to the hub Atlus will be releasing. They had a DQ-like slime character that turned into a Mega Man-like head when he attacked and later showed off a car that opened its doors and hood when it attacked.

Other bonuses include the ability to take screenshots yourself and a gallery for all of the loading screens (which Atlus has added a bunch more on top of the originals).

I forgot to mention that there will be an option to do an install that will pretty much make all load times a second or two long. They weren't sure how big it would be, but it'll probably be around 2-3 GBs.

With the super quick loading, hard to appreciate the loading screens, although I believe there's now a seperate gallery to view them.
