1. How does this work?

Basically, you bring in a DVD to Customer Service and they will give you a $5 off Blu-Ray coupon. Pretty simple.

2. Can you use it on any Blu-Ray?

Only on Blu-Rays $9.99 and up. Previously, music Blu-Rays have been excluded, but everything else is game.

3. Is there a limit of coupons you can receive?

5 per day seems to be the limit.

4. When does the coupons expire?

Last day of the promotion (8/11).

5. Do multiple disc DVDs = multiple coupons?

No. If you trade in a TV show season boxset = 1 coupon, not 3 or 4.

6. Can I trade in ANY DVD?

Naturally, they won't accept DVD-R/RW's nor will they accept pornos. So, no trading in Wii Like 2 Part 3.

7. Can this be applied to past orders?

No. At most you can do a return/rebuy, but you would have to pay the current price so it may not be worth it.

8. Do I get the coupon back if I return the Blu-Ray I used a coupon on?

YMMV. Rule of thumb, be sure you are content with what you're getting before you use a coupon on it.

9. Do the DVDs I trade have to have the actual artwork and any inserts?

YMMV, but unless you get a real douche at CS, most won't care as long as it's in a case. (Generic DVD case will do)

10. I'm low on DVDs, any suggestions?

Dollar stores and places like Big Lots will occasionally carry $1 DVDs that you can get to trade in to Best Buy. Garage sales work as well if you can find one that is selling DVDs on the cheap.

11. Do coupons stack?

Nope. 1 coupon = 1 Blu-Ray purchase. Of course you can use multiple coupons in one transaction if you are purchasing the same amount of Blus.

That's correct. I traded in 3 DVDs and only used 2 coupons. As long as you use them within the expiration date, hoard as you please.

EDIT: That's interesting, Scorch... I've never had an issue with saving mine for a rainy day. I assumed it was allowed everywhere.
 
I haven't seen an actual coupon in the past two or three cycles. I just take my DVDs and the Blu Rays I'm buying up to customer service and I never see any coupons.

I've come back before with unused coupons. Actually, what happened for me was I turned in 5 dvds, used 3 and they just wrote a note on the photocopy of the coupon that 3 were used. They gave me a photocopy of the coupon barcode with a receipt showing I turned in 5 dvds. Came back a few days later and used the last two, no problem.
 
Went back for another round and found a copy if the first Alien movie, completing the trilogy for me. Also got Taken, Meet the Fockers, Little Fockers and Platoon.

The worst part of all of this is I literally have no more room left on my media shelving unit. I guess it's time to finally rip some CDs and put them in storage.

Not end of the world if I can't use it. Donated a lot of DVDs to Goodwill back before BB started doing these deals. I won't lose any sleep over $5 if they give me trouble.
 
I did this for the first time today. Guy mentioned that I can use them at any time during the promo period, so Scorch must have a picky store compared to the rest of the experiences listed here (and my own).
 
They always tell me to save my receipt if i want to use them at a later date. Twice they've let me take then home even after i used them (once was accidental, once they were just being cool

My store doesn't even use physical coupons, they just tag the receipt and it shows $5 off on the register. I wish they did have coupons and I could use them at a later date, though, that'd be nice

Picked up Taken and Fight Club earlier. Very happy with those two since both had the Taken 2 Hollywood Movie Money and I got the Fight Club with the nice slip cover.
 
I have several BestBuy stores near me. During the first U&S, they required a receipt for unused coupons in one store. The other store didn't care. During this U&S, the store that originally required a receipt didn't even hand them out this time. So YMMV.
 
I've done this at multiple stores in every cycle and I've never gotten a coupon. They have me bring my dvds to customer service and then pick out the blu's I want and then they do the transaction.
 
Snagged 5 Blus this week... Immediately traded in 4 to Moviestop that qualified for the trade 2, get 1 free (paid for Total Recall and Resident Evil: Retribution BR Combos) and kept Taken (it didn't qualify, but I wanted to digital copy). Not bad - $25 for Total Recall Combo, Resident Evil:Retribution combo and Taken Blu. ;) God, I love Moviestop!
 
I'd never done a return/rebuy before, but I ordered Robin Hood Men in Tights online, took it and a DVD in, and it went through without a hitch. Better yet, he was able to refund the $5.45 without even doing a full return. Good stuff, but that's probably all I'll get from this round.
 
Snagged Prometheus 3D, Taken, I Spit On Your Grave double pack, Leon the Professional, and Silence of the Lambs. That's it for now, I think. I was struggling to find anything else in the price range that I wanted. They did a good job of making all the movies I wanted priced at $7.99 instead of $9.99.

I wanted Interview with the Vampire. The sticker was priced at $9.99 but rang up as $7.99, so I had to go swap it out for Leon the Professional. That's the first time I've ever actually asked a cashier to bump the price UP to sticker price. They laughed and rejected my request. I laughed and stomped away.

Did this as well and went to see Taken 2 yesterday. Pretty good movie, but I liked the first one more. Did not get the slipcover with Fight Club, but I think I'm going to put the blu ray disc into my DVD copy with the awesome special packaging anyways.
 
I got paid today so I went back to BB and scooped up another 5 Blu's after work today:

-Archer S2
-It's Always Sunny S7
-Cabin in the Woods (minus the cool lenticular slipcover :( ....I'll try to track one down later)
-Hugo 3D (not sure if I'll keep this one, I hear the 3D is amazing though)
-Tintin 3D (found one w/a slipcover so I can return the one I got on Wednesday)

Archer Season 2 on Blu-Ray is randomly on sale for $17.99 so I got it for $12.99 after coupon!
I had a guy price-check the Season 1 Blu for me but it came up $34.99. :shock:
 
The first one or two of these, I remember they did require that you use the coupon that day, possibly even in that store. That got changed though and now it's like here's a coupon, use it before this thing ends in any store. If I can pry myself away from XCOM tomorrow, there's a few I want to trade in.

Namely X-Men 1 & 2, Silence of the Lambs, Planet of the Apes & Hannibal. Might sub in Madagascar Blu Ray/dvd combo for on e of those mentioned above since it's $10 tomorrow.

Is the Expendables a good movie? As in, worth watching a few times times or just a $1 rental at Redbox?

Idk if this has been mentioned, but the Universal 100th Anniversary edition of American Graffiti Bluray combo pack is $14.99. Not sure if it's a sale price that ends today or regular price but after $5 coupon and the $3 off manufacturer coupon people used for E.T, it comes out to $6.99 plus tax

The other day I went to do the coupon with Wedding Singer but it was marked incorrectly at $9.99 when it rang up $7.99

I enjoyed the Expendables, but it is a cheeseball tribute to 80's action flicks (bad acting, shallow plot, bullets and more bullets, not so memerable 1 liners, ect). If you could stand watching those movies more than once, it's probably worth a $5 purchase for you.

Again, I watch movies to be entertained for a couple of hours, and it did just that for me.

I've done it with .99 cent blurays from blockbuster. They accepted them fine but made me put them in normal DVD cases. They wouldn't accept the blockbuster cases.

It is a very fun action flick. Do note, however, that this version does NOT have the Extended version. That is a separate release.
 
Went back today to try and get another Taken, but they were sold out. Ended up getting the last Fight Club Blu in the store though...

Now I have 2 Taken II tickets...looks like me and the gf are seeing Sinister tomorrow ;)

Thanks for this. In for 2 for my kids. Everytime I walk in, they are wondering what type of deal I got in on. It's more of a running joke, and some of the employees actually get in on the deals after they see my haul. Should be a good laugh at CS.
