Yeah...still no list, BUT

CAGs have been mentioning lists received by stores and new price markings taking place. Its all a matter of us drilling employees for info or attaining the list.

Just noticed the Game days sale ad in the latest game informer. Last year's sale was pretty decent so its worth a thread. I'll try to post the ad and coupon later. Best part is the coupon doesn't say anything about being void if copied. No specifics yet on the sale.

Things to note:
- Should stack with edge (assuming there are used deals).

This will be a crazy deal for me. 50% off select used, 10% edge card, and 10% Game Informer coupon. I've been wanting Bioshock for some time now so I would love to get that for 70% off if it was included in the sale.

Most likely, the "up to 50% off titles" will be new, not used. That's how it was last year. Edge won't work with it.

"Odin Sphere" is definitely worth it!

Wouldn't that be interesting if reprints of "Nocturne" and "Digital Devil Saga" also showed up for the Game Day's Sale....

I really think that's why I see posts that read "I can't wait for this!!!1111!!!1111!!". It's a veiled attempt at a tag.

Seriously, click "Thread Tools" near the top of the screen and stop making the thread unecessarily longer with anything other than helpful posts like this one which explains where to subscribe to a thread.......:roll:
 
I'm actually a little surprised that the list hasn't leaked yet. Here's to hoping that it helps in it slipping under the SD or FW radar for a while :)

Please let the Warcraft III Battle Chest be on that list, I lost my discs & keys and just can't justify in participating in Blizzard's "let's sell games at full MSRP for a decade" philosophy.
 
If Odin Sphere is on the list, I am heading up there the day it starts and nabbing a copy. Atlus is easily becoming my new favorite publisher, and well this has good reviews and Atlus :D.

Once I see the full list I may be nabbing some more stuff, but right now it is just Odin Sphere if it is for cheap.

Does used games go on the list because both DDS and Nocturne are being sold as used (but they are brand new just with used stickers all over the fucking cover). Either way I would bite on DDS if it was $20.

Actually funny story but EB games sells DDS 2 NEW for $20 but DDS 1 for $40 USED. I don't know why but my local EB had a new copy of DDS 2 for $20 last Friday.

People are stupid, and it's not the most obvious feature the site has. I get your frustration, but things probably won't change.

If I'm interpreting that correctly...almost definitely not. It's been said before, but last year's sale focused on new games.
 
I will pounce on the Oden Sphere for $20 idea. Well ... Oden Sphere for $40, with 60% off. Or 55% off.
This really isn't any better than when it was at CC, is it. Bah. And I found it there, too, but my CC sucks at actually having things in the discount bin on sale.
Still buying it anyways, I'll probbaly be there bright and early. :p

I vaguely remember seeing a Warcraft game on the list, too. I don't know if it was the battle chest. I'll see what I can do about getting a copy of the list for you guys.

This is just a small list, with many more items to come...not sure what the prices will be...no list or sale book yet...

Good luck finding a copy. I've been looking for months now and no store within the 9 closest to me have had it. Ebay is looking a little pricey as well :(
 
We magically got some sealed Katamari Damacy's for PS2!?! And Ace Combat Zero's for PS2!?! Who the hell would keep these in a warehouse for so long, and sell them at a discount price later on during a gameday sale?
 
I wonder if the deal on New PSPs and DSs that are in the Canadian ad will come here as well. A new PSP for $20 after trading 6 games sounds pretty good to me.

who is saying they will be 50 % off.. most good stuff last time was like 10% off and the junk was far between and it was 50%

if Oden is on the list i be shocked if its more then 25%

Actually, Rock Band "copied" Drummania 2 first. Only they gimped the drum set. GH4 and Konami's (who kickstarted the music genre in the first place back in the 90s) Rock Revolution are bringing back the drum set the way it's supposed to be.

hey guys i just got back from my local gs where a friend of mine works ..he said there is gonna be new stuff on sale as well as used stuff 50-75% ..he said they havnt even sent out the sales to the store associates yet. I gotta stop at the CC later this week which happens to be next to the GS, so I will talk to my friend again to see if any thing new pops up.

ya most likely the stuff that is actually 50-75% off will be last gen (but you can still prob get some good finds)..current-gen used games will be on sale too but i wouldn't expect anything more than like 30% off (which isnt too bad, especially with the GI coupon+Edge card)

the friend i talked to who is like an assistant manager/manager (not to sure) said the stores HAVE NOT received any lists yet, but the sale will be going on for a couple weeks

Good to know, but I'll still give it a shot while I'm out tomorrow - I'm on the good side of the entire GS staff in that store so if anyone knows anything I'll be able to get it.

They received the list at the store in Jax, FL I was in this afternoon ~1pm... they were pricing the games while we were in the store. All were behind the counter in the shipping boxes... he would not let us look at the list - said he 'could be fired'. I did see Namco Anthology. for PS2 and a few PSP RPG's I could not identify at the top of the box...

Games get shipped out to stores specifically for these sales. Katamari's a good example; I haven't seen it new in probably at least a year, but it's apparently included.

In that case, we've got about a week where we might get a leak (though given you'd be fired for that, I'm not expecting one), and if not, I guess it's time to head out to the stores Monday morning and see.
 
I know the manager and all the associates, so I'm going to see if i can get a copy of the list and upload it, to the net. I've heard katarmari for ps2 and atari classics for psp will be on the sale. so yeh.

Have you seen the Gamecube section of a Gamestop lately? It's a sad little shelf hidden in a corner. I don't really understand why, since the PS2 and Xbox sections are still thriving (probably due to backwards compatibility, but the Wii has full BC).

Must of been only your gamestop, the ones I've visited have a whole side of the middle display dedicated to Gamecube. PS2/XBOX do seem to get more love thou. I actually made my second purchase at gamestop earlier this week when I saw a copy of Beyond Good & Evil.

Probably just your store... The 10 "local" Gamestops in my area all have the same basic layout. Current Gen games on the walls next to their used counterparts, NEW PS2 also on the wall with some of the Used PS2 on the wall... All of the cheaper USED PS2 are in bins with ALL of the Xbox games... PC Games have shelf bins in the middle of the store. Accessories are basically hung from the ceilings and any pillars randomly in the store. Gamecube games have Wall space RIGHT NEXT to the Wii section with a sign that says "Compatible with the Wii". It's not the biggest space available but I'm guessing its because these stores really don't have that much inventory of GC games guess they are real popular in my area and people are buying them out. I myself have only bought NON PH Pikmin and Pikmin 2...
 
Yeah, the GC section of my gamestop is pretty sad too. Mostly junk, what they do have thats any good is way over priced, mostly mario party games and the resident evil ports.
