Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase
coupon_birthday_toys.gif

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

Was at my Target today looking for any clearance stuff, they had absolutely nothing. BUT they did put tons of new games into the endcap (the one that has the clearance stuff and the stuff that will be put on clearance in the near future). Of worth there was a few DS titles and some Wii games, though one of the Wii games seemed to just be out of place.

Marble Madness (Wii); Ant Bully (Wii)
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin (DS); FF3
We probably should be on the look out for these this month. The back of those cards say they expire June 2007. The question is will Microsoft actually care...
I was looking at those the other day (the ones with the Vision camera). They are good till June 2008. It is the older set (of which I managed to get two several months ago when they were on sale) which was June 2007. That reminds me, I need to redeem one of those! Unless there are different versions of the Vision Camera pack - the ones at my Target, anyway, said June 2008.

When I stack that with the 3 month card I picked up a few weeks ago from Target ($7.48) I'll have over 2 years of Live paid for + 3 headsets + Bankshot Billiards + Joust + 600 MS points for less than $50.

The 3-month set that I picked up was unmarked and for some reason the UPC was all faded (it was where the sealing tape was and somehow that made it fade). It took them 30 minutes to figure out what to do with it. The store manager took it in the back to look it up. But of course, all she did was look it up on the Target web site, when I told them in advance it was probably out of the system. She found the 12 month kit and at first was going to give me 33% off that for the price (like $37 or something). In the meantime I called my wife and had her look up the 3-month kit on ebay to get the UPC. Finally they enter that and, of course, it is "Item not found" but they look up the last price and FINALLY find the $7.48. I'm not sure it was worth all the trouble, but, anyway, I'm a CAG so I coulnd't resist. Fortunately I was there by myself (no kids) so I could bide my time.

I'm glad Target clearanced these June 2007 expiring kits out, though. Another place that had tons of both types (12 and 3 month) near me is the NW chain Fred Meyer. They had a bunch at full MSRP a month ago or so. Yesterday I went in and they were all gone - obviously removed, as I keep close tabs on their clearances. I wonder if these stores can get credit from MS for the expiring kits? Someone out there ought to know about that!

PS - A pet peeve if mine on CAG is when new threads pop up for perfectly servicable old threads. I just thought nothing was going on at Target because the Target clearance thread fell off my page of subscribed threads. Then I find this new one today. I know this is probably impossible, but it would be nice if there was a feature to carry subscriptions over to thread "sequels". Fortunately it doesn't look like I missed any wonderful set of clearance items as a result (that has happened before).

Interesting. Any Target employees here that can enlighten us? I guess it wouldn't be a surprise if Microsoft said to destroy the old cards or recall them, and then send off new ones. Sounds like a silly move to have an expiration date in the first place, but I digress.

Waiting for word on a GBA clearance... Definitely holding out for that.

Yeah, it seems wierd. But maybe it is to prevent a warehouse of unsold kits from being bought up cheap 2 years from now, thus flooding the market with cheap 12-month cards? That presumes that newer kits have "cooler" stuff (like the Vision cam) making older ones less desireable at full MSRP. It seems if they hadn't put expiration dates on the original kits they could still sell them for $50-$60, if nothing else (sicne the $20 game coupons expired long ago). But there are definitely stores out there that will be stuck with these things unless MS has a robust recall/exchange program, or they clearanced them out in advance like Target and Kmart.

Anyways, I just applied the second 12-month card to my account and now I'm good through 5/1/2009 . I have the 3-month card to add still too... (So these are nice compared to the standalone cards that are sometimes only good for new accounts).

Went to the local stores today (SD area), did not find any of the items above.
Was hoping to at least get the lego kits for me..Err...I mean for my kids.

GBA items not on sale either...guess I have to wait.

NJ. Overnight stocker - bottom rung.

Quit my day job awhile ago ... need something part time with steady pay to supplement, and overnight pays better than any other retail.

Plus target has bonuses (10% discount) and the benefit of being the first one there when clearance prices drop.
Interesting. Any Target employees here that can enlighten us? I guess it wouldn't be a surprise if Microsoft said to destroy the old cards or recall them, and then send off new ones. Sounds like a silly move to have an expiration date in the first place, but I digress.
Sent to Goodwill?

possible. though I haven't seen any at my goodwill (which gets the clearnace from several targets it seems).

Found a DS Wifi adapter ($10), Wiimote ($10, broken, but Nintendo replaced for free) and 2 copies of C&C 3 ($3 and $8) all in the last month. But no XBL cards.

Perhaps this is the wrong place to ask, but how's the pay and the hours?

I really need to find some kind of summer job now. I've been turned down by several places now for various reasons. Work at Target and get in some good deals? Doesn't sound like a bad idea. :D

Minimum wage wherever you are.

Like most places, they pay a shift differencial (as much as a $1 an hour) for working overnight.

Overnight stockers work a full 8 hrs (from closing -opening), and you get locked in. Part time/full time is determined by how many days you work.

Yeah, getting locked in the store sucks the most but I've gotten used to it. I've worked the overnight shift (Truck Unloader) at Target for awhile now and it's alright. Combing the 10% employee discount with the 10% off any purchase coupon when opening a Target RedCard account is great, got my 360 there for about $346 total.

Your not really locked in though. When i did that (about 10 years ago now maybe even longer)

I actually enjoyed that job. I unloaded the truck with one other guy and we backed that conveyor belt up so bad. Then we took a 15 minute break before rocking our departments out....

They used to let us out for smoke breaks (I don't and never will smoke but thats another topic).

The manager was an ass and really ended up being the reason a few people quit. He was physically attacking people he felt were not working... until they put in camera systems and I think they eventually fired him for theft (long after I was out of there).

Yeah I know, there are ways around it when you want to go outside. I don't smoke, but it's definitely good to get some fresh air every now and then when trapped in there.

I've worked doing stock for several stores, as well as worked in the back when stores still had layaway depts(Hills dept store) and the worst one was Wally World. They would shut off the AC in the middle of the night during summer and by 3 am, you were wishing for a LONG break to go out and get some fresh air, which is why I always volunteered to go out and get carts because it was cooler out there @ 3-4am than it was IN the store.

You would find ALL SORTS of crap in the parking lot by that time. I'm talking peoples old microwaves sitting on the ground next to the box from the new one they just bought, bagloads of kids dirty diapers that some slobs would bring up there by the truckload(it seemed) and bagloads of stuff that either people just forgot from their orders or ran outta the store with and dropped on the ground while trying to leave as quickly as possible.

Then, there were the tires, the old lumber, you name it, it was in that lot and tossed in our compactor at one point or another by me.

I also worked a job where once the truck(s) were unloaded, you were done for the day. So, if you 'pounded out' the 8-12 trucks from both the dry and cold storage warehouses in 4 hours, you could be done by noon and swimming in your pool by 1 pm on a hot summers day. The only time that truly hurt was on payday, but in the summer you didn't want to be in the dry warehouse all day.

I remember tossing watermelons to people standing near bins at the end of the trailer waiting to load up X amount in each bin. You think those bins of watermelons stack themselves? Think again. Cool part was, once we stacked all the bins we had to, we'd put off a couple watermelons to the side for us to carve up in the cold, cold warehouse. Nothing better than cold watermelon after sweating your butt off unloading a whole trailer of them.

So, believe me, I know how it feels when you guys talk about unloading trucks, as I've done that at more than a couple places. While it may not be fun, it still does make $$$ and in the end, that's what we all need, isn't it?

Oh and on topic, I found NONE of the PC games I wanted(San Andreas/Starcraft pack).

Hey all - I went to Target yesterday looking for Condemned. This Target was the only one within 50 miles that showed "Limited Availability" for it, but of course, they had no copies. I looked around the video game section, and hidden behind a bunch of PS2 games was Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. It had a clearance tag and was marked $7.54 down from $59.99. The UPC is 018946010489. I realize it may not be the greatest game, but for $7.54, it does not really make a difference to me.

So to summarize:
UPC: 018946010489
Game: Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (XBox 360)
Price: $7.54

If found Neverwinter Nights Diamond (pc) for $4.98. Other than that i never find anything good at target clearance anymore.

Thanks for getting back to a possible deal. lol. I'm going to check this out.

*edit - no luck. They had plenty of copies but they were all $29.99.

This isn't a video game deal, but since we lump all of the Target clearance into her and I don't think it's worthy of a new thread...

I've been seeing a two pack of Spider-Man 3 action figures on clearance at a lot of stores, a sand-covered Spider-Man and Sandman packaged together with a box that says something like "Sand Battle Blast." I found the package today for $3.24, and I couldn't pass it up for that price. Keep an eye out for it - most of the stores in Metro Detroit have a lot left, and if it's going to get that cheap, I'm guessing a lot of you would be interested. :D

Found 2 copies of The Fugitive on HD DVD. They didn't scan (item not found) and when I brought it to the register they told me $19 after 2 minutes of searching. Guess I'll wait till they hit Goodwill.
good thing? ive never played computer games
Considering that Gothic 3 only came out a few months ago, excellent clearance price. But supposedly this game is very buggy.

Picked up the game at the same store listed. Well worth the price! Not really buggy thus far, and it's a pretty kick arse game.

Gothic 3 is pretty much unfinishable - hell, some people can't even get it to run.

The developer has given up on patches, as well, so it will forever be broke.

There is a good reason it's clearance after a few months.

I wouldn't support the developers of this game even if it was $2 since they put out a buggy product at retail and then just abandoned it.

Odd, I run it fine, and I haven't run into any bugs as of yet after applying the last patch out. Good game thus far.
damn $7.54 for DOA xtreme 2! too bad theres nothing around me.
Still $29.99 here behind glass door.

Don't be angry, but I gots a question about the bikes at Target. Anyone know when they go on clearance? There's a schwinn I'm looking at (Roxie, a VERY pink bike ). It's not a bad price straight up, but I was wondering if the bikes ever go clearance at Target.

I'm on that list. Its pretty lame, avoid at all costs. :( Worst part is my PC can run LOTRO on uber-high settings. Something is a bit off here eh?

id say maybe before school stars in september. i remember seeing them on clearance at that time. im not too sure anymore since that was awhile ago.
Lafayette IN has a bunch of the PSP Psyclones on clearance for 25, I picked one up, still like 5 left.
these were $49.99 still at the target by me. i really want one for some reason.. once they hit $25 you really gotta buy em cause these days they will just donate them to goodwill if nobody buys it at that price.

I saw these in Parma, OH and Fairlawn, OH at the same price.

I doubt they will drop any lower since this is 75% off and I haven't seen target stuff go 90% off in about a year.

Bikes clearance out at the end of the season usually...which would be fall/winter but as late as early spring...they have to make room for the new models that come out in early spring. Same with most other sporting goods.

Watch for sales throughout the summer though.

If you want a really good deal on a bike, start going to garage sales...I see like new bikes that originally retailed for $200+ for around $10-20 at garage sales all the time. Like most exercise/recreation equipment, people buy them with good intentions, never use them, then sell them because they need the space in their garage.

Thanks for the info Rictor and phear3d. I didn't know when the new models came out.

I'll do that.

That's a great suggestion.

Unfortunately, most of where I live is new developments and sub-divisions (arggghhh!!) and the only stuff I find at garage & church sales are baby clothes and toys and maternity wear. Some stuff from elementary age kids, but that's about it. ...it's depressing actually. I go once in a very great while, and wind up feeling I'm the only single person and/or kid-free person within a 50 mile radius.

I should really check my local Target, since they almost always have some of the clearance items, though I only still want that damned 'tourist book' from the San Andreas PC version. I don't even want the game, since I have it for both Xbox and PS2 already.

I take it there's no new clearance news this week? I would go out and scope out the scene myself, but the weather's too hot and humid for me to put in the effort.

I just checked a Super Target in Kissimmee, FL this morning and didn't see anything gaming related.

In other departments, the summer seasonal stuff was 75% and extremely picked over. Some Eddie Bower camping accessories that I hadn't noticed before. There was a bunch of sauces/soups/marinades in the food section. That about sums it up for this particular store.

Hey all - I went around to see if I could find another copy of DOAX2 at other Targets in the area for you guys, but it was $30 behind glass as you guys have reported. I guess it just goes to show that these clearances are really store dependent some times.

Good deal hunting everyone

Every time I've checked a Target in the past few weeks, there's either been minimal clearance (one or two tycoon games for the PC) or nothing at all.

Gentlemen, I think we've hit a dry spell. :whistle2:(

I noticed something today - all previous clearance, no matter what discount, was removed from my store. The endcaps were bare but appeared to be waiting for product. I don't think it was for clearance; I think there is a large influx of product at the start of the summer. If memory serves, they start to clear that out around August.
