Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase
coupon_birthday_toys.gif

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:
Every time I've checked a Target in the past few weeks, there's either been minimal clearance (one or two tycoon games for the PC) or nothing at all.

Gentlemen, I think we've hit a dry spell. :whistle2:(
Same here on the east coast. Kind of a dead time for retail before the fall shopping season heats up.
I should really check my local Target, since they almost always have some of the clearance items, though I only still want that damned 'tourist book' from the San Andreas PC version. I don't even want the game, since I have it for both Xbox and PS2 already.
What's in that "Tourist Book"? Is it like an enhanced instruction manual? I always enjoy the artwork of the GTA world, but their manuals have been pretty skimpy in the past.

Gentlemen, I think we've hit a dry spell. :whistle2:(
I'm no gentlman, but I have to agree. The Targets near to me are still wanting $39+ on games most of y'all have found clearanced out months ago. I enter the ASI number with all good hopes and... no joy. blah.
Same here on the east coast. Kind of a dead time for retail before the fall shopping season heats up.
Yup. I'm even seeing gardening supplies/outdoor stuff starting to be marked down. I guess they're beginning to make room for Back To School, but currently they have no BTS product to put on their shelves. *shrugs*

I'd be psyched about gettng new stuff for my gardens, but with the drought we have I can only water twice a week as it is... I'm not about to start planting new stuff when I can't water them enough for them to establish. Fiddle faddle.

I believe so, as it also lists 'ads' for many of the businesses you run into in the world of San Andreas at some point or another. You know, the Cluckin Bells and such where you can have your character eat later on in the game.

I almost talked someone from an EB into letting me have the book, if they didn't find a disc only version of the PC game sitting in their drawer.

It is a very nice book, to say the least, which is why I so desperately wanted to find the PC version of SA from this clearance for $5.

Those little hand-held Game Gear clones had finally gone on clearance at my local target, the same ones that were $20 on Amazon for a bit.

Dropped from $50 to $35 which is still a bit pricey for me, but they had plenty so I shall await further drops.
I noticed something today - all previous clearance, no matter what discount, was removed from my store.
its time to check out the nearest Goodwill within the next 2 or 3 days.. ymmv though cause Goodwill sometimes will even jack the prices on the stuff they get from target.

I went to my Target today and not only did they not have a clearance area anymore they also had barely any PS2,Xbox,PsP,or Gamecube games ??????

These were all 50% off in the Livonia, MI Target today on Haggerty Rd.

Snagged the last Psyclone PSP speaker system at the Roseville, CA Target store this afternoon. I would have never paid $100 or even $50 for one of these (don't really know how much actual use it'll get) but for $25 I couldn't resist.

Me too. Turning my future PSP into a mini entertainment center for 24.98 isn't bad at all. Not to mention the thing is friggin huge.
There's also a bunch of shitty handheld and TV games that I didn't feel like typing up.

I know we've been getting this quite a bit lately, but I figured I'd toss in my recon anyway: total clearance futility. Hit up three Targets (searching for SW: Battlefront II at that $4.98 price), and found nothing but stacks of the WoW trial disk (50% off) and the boxed demo of Medieval II: Total War for $4.98.

Hopefully we'll see some happier hunting soon!

I was in Dallas yesterday and came across Chicken Little(wii) on an end cap with other cheap games. I decided to scan it and it rang up $0.00. I missed out on a clearance copy at the Target in Clarksville, so I was excited when I saw the $0.00. Surprisingly the cashier looked up the last price, which was $9.98, and gave it to my wife for that price. I've had other employees give me the last listed price, but for every nice employee there are three that screw you; particularly management.

Same here I messed around with it a bit it sounds good and all but I have a feeling it will be on eBay or a trade list soon.

Quick heads up for the North Jersey CAGs. Hackensack Target had two WoW Burning Crusade Collectors Edition marked down to 34.96. They are on an endcap by the DVDs. They were there as of 15 minutes ago.
its time to check out the nearest Goodwill within the next 2 or 3 days.. ymmv though cause Goodwill sometimes will even jack the prices on the stuff they get from target.
My target reguarly give goodwill all it's clearence stuff after one 15% drop. Then goodwill take it and jacks it up to retail - or get this - above retail price.

I saw a Medieval Total War II box at Goodwill with a "$8.99" sticker and almost popped a boner right there....luckily (or not), i noticed it was the demo.
It used to be $23.99 at my Target. Now the one left is $29.99. Wtf!
There was a 20% off sale that took effect on everything 29.99 I think.

Man it's been forever since I've been able to find video games in the clearance section of my Target. About 6 months ago I nabbed some DS titles for about $5 but I really haven't seen anything since. I hope the rumored GBA clearance hits my store soon. They still have a whole case dedicated to it.

Not a game, but I picked up the Disney Legacy Collection "Lands of Exploration" clearanced for $6.26. I probably don't want it, but figure it's good trade fodder.
What part of Dallas?

I went to the Target nearest my house today. Nothing on clearance, and not a sign of any GBA price drops.

Most of the Targets here still have a lot of GBA games, including the older Pokémon titles. There's a lot I'd like to get when it drops, but I don't think anyone here has seen that happen yet. If it wasn't for the fact that the memo was confirmed multiple times, I'd call bullshit. I wonder when or if we'll see this sale? :whistle2:k

Today at my Target, I saw a 20 games in 1 portable handheld that plays Sega Genesis and Master system games on a 2.5 inch screen for $24.98. It was originally $50. Didnt get it though. Hopefully it goes down more.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down there, cowboys. This Coleco-branded plug n' play contains a collection of Sega Master System and Game Gear games; it's a strictly 8-bit affair. Those seeking Genesis games need not apply.

For the dude who was in Dallas I totally know what you mean. Zoo Keeper kicked my ass for so long, I kept going in every couple days, picking it up and finding someone "new" and trying to get it for cheap. Most of the time people would scan it, see $0.00 and call the manager who wanted to charge $20, finnally one day the lady looks it up somehow and says "Oh, this is $3 wow!!" and rang it up. That was at the north Irving store. And I didn't even hide the damn thing, I would leave it on the same endcap with the other games.

I got lucky the last time I had a "0.00" clearance game. I took it to the pharmacy counter and bought it with a perscription I was picking up. The Pharmacist rang it up and asked me "Did you happen to see how much this was?" I told him $5 and he said "OK, sound good to me."

Usually if you ask them to "check the last price" they can find the 75% or 90% markdown price. They use a particular scanner model to look up price history of merchandise, even if it's currently out of the system. Not every employee will have access to or know how to use that scanner, but somebody in the place will.

Target is usually pretty good about making the extra effort for a customer...unlike Walmart or Kmart where you get the employee who's on his perpetual "staring at the wall wishing he was dead" break. I'm not saying Target employees don't wish they were dead too, but they're better trained in hiding it. :)

I was thinking the same thing the last few times I went through Targets. Personally, I can't feature the Targets in my area clearancing their GBA stuff any time soon just because they have plenty of space. The whole idea seemed to be that they'd be moving the GBA stuff out in favor of the DS stuff, but that only works if space is limited. When I pop into a Target and see an empty display case between the GBA section and the DS section, I know they've got no reason to move that stuff cheep.

Exactly. The thing is, I can't imagine it's still selling well at this point; the flow of new titles has pretty much stopped and they've had the same kid-oriented games, crappy value titles, and a few good titles (Nintendo and the Final Fantasy games, mainly) in the case since last Christmas. Right now, there really doesn't seem to be a need to clear them out to make space, but I think they're bound to clear them out sooner or later.

Who knows? Maybe we'll have to wait until the fall, when more new games start shipping.

I've also got to wonder if they're going to be getting rid of the last gen games anytime soon. Aside from the endcap Greatest Hits games, my Target stores don't have much of anything left for the GameCube and a mediocre selection at best for the PS2 and Xbox. Even with backwards compatibility, I'd think that the demand for those games would have dropped off as well by now. I can't imagine they'll be cleared out, but I can dream...especially since I still want Mario Strikers and Mario Baseball, and can't afford $30 each right now. :)

I think the GBA was about 1,000 units shy of outselling the PS3 last month. I'm sure someone more informed could throw out the actual numbers. So it still sells pretty well.

Considering how badly the PS3 seems to be doing, I'm not sure if almost outselling it is something to brag about or not. ;)

The PS3 isn't doing badly, it's doing quite decently considering it's doing better than the ps2 ever did, even with the hefty price. Sony really sucks at handling PR, bunch of dicks I'd say. For a gimpy GBA to sell this consistantly is a bit suprising to me, over in Japan they sell like...3 a week.

Enough about that, I visited a Target and...it was all clean and arranged perfectly, wtf?! No goodies either, must find another Target!

edit: Rofl, i meant Target, not Kmart...

FWIW, Nintendo Power dropped GBA and GC from their new release calendar saying very few new titles were coming out. I just thought that was interesting considering GBA is still a popular platform.

Same thing happened to me last March at a Target in Dallas (Skillman and Northwest Hwy) with Viewtiful Joe for the DS. The employee said to take another game with the $0.00 Viewtiful Joe to the cash register and you will be charged for whatever the other game is worth. Every other DS game was $14.99. I spent the next 15 minutes trying to find the cheapest game when I stumbled upon a $9.99 PSP UMD Movie. So I got Viewtiful Joe DS for $9.99.

just scored a very weird deal at my Target...Rainbow Six Vegas for the PS3 for $29.96:hot: ...it had one of those As-IS tags on it and it was still factory sealed and was the only one there...i would think this was a mistake on somebodys part...this game literally just came out last week

Don't ask questions, roll with it. Good find!

lol, i couldnt get to that call button fast enough:lol: since it was still in the display case

edit: i just compared the tag number to the online site...and it has the same DCPI number...and on the reciept its states TGT.COM 10 along with 241102084...is it possible that it was an online order that was returned to the store?

If anyone was eying anything in the Dollar Spot, my local Target was at the 50% clearance mark this morning. Picked up a few things I know won't last the weekend until the next drop (AA and C batteries, and a handful of Simpson's items for my brother-in-law).

DoW Gold finally went on clearance at my store - $12.xx

Toy clearance has started, FYI, and sorry for the OT. 2 store near me are on different markdowns... the one that had toys 50% off for the most part had some of the MOVIE transformers marked down already! nothing that actually transforms, but hte unleashed figure of Bumblebee... funny thing is the "car-cass" on which he is standing looks an awful lot like a burned out VW beetle...

FWers are drooling over the bwing lego set, ringing up $18-24. No video games though.

Dawn of War Gold? And don't apologize for the OT, I love adding the other Target deals and management seems to be A-Okay with that! B-Wing as in Star Wars? And can you remember other specific Transformer toys?
