This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

4 to 102!?!? *buys for grandparents* ;) But I guess I'll need to keep looking at Snoopy Vs The Red baron for my Peanuts needs...
 
So I checked another Target this AM and there did not seem to be any widespread clearance going on...at least Nationwide....

I guess that this is just a one-off...I've seen this sort of thing happen before, apparently when the electronics department does an inventory at some point they haul out all the stuff they have been falling over in the back for months and clear it out.

For example, a few years ago I went into a TGT on a Sat morning and they had all these GBA with the E-card reader clearanced for $30...they had not been out on display for months/years....

I am almost wondering if this is not a side affect of Target changing their VG policy. As folks who have shopped the deals at target for years can attest, it used to be that every couple of weeks some new titles would go on clearance...about the time they were picked over, more were added. Now it seems that they are really not clearancing games regularly....the clearance section has been pretty dry for months. There is only so much shelf space so they must just be putting the oddballs in the back. But eventually..they have to do something to get rid of them.

While the nationwide part may or may not be true, in my experience (and based on many other threads) Target updates their electronics clearance on Monday afternoon to evening, not before they open on Monday, so Monday evening/Tuesday morning will be the best time to check.
 
I was at Target today to pick up a rather odd collection of things (4 bottles of Gatorade, 4 of Powerade, and a bottle of caesar dressing....
 
About the best thing going on at my Target is the ability to use unlimited numbers of the $1 off baby food coupons. I couldn't believe the cashier actually told me about it. Seems I've read about customers getting banned from stores for using web coupons multiple times...

Target hasn't had anything video game related on clearance for about 7 months is my area. The latest thing I've seen is a $19.99 endcap where they dumped a bunch of GH and old titles for all of the systems.

My Boss used that one, and talked to customer services about it to make sure it was ok before hand. They gave them thumbs up, went back, and saw someone had already bought out the entire stock of small jars... so they got the next size up. Was still only something like $22 for 96 jars of baby food.

We used 20 coupons yesterday and my wife went out tonight for another go. She told me the stores in our area have wised up and are now limiting it to 5 per customer.

Here's hoping that the Ferrari will be on sale for me this time around.

although i saw some Pirates of the Carribean toys at $2.48.

just noticed the new price on the Unleashed Optimus or Turnarounds. for $24.99, that used to be like $29.99 i think.

nothing else, except for empty aisles and the usual suspects, empty TF and GI Joes. :roll:
 
Dunno if this was just a one-off thing or a sign of things to come, but at the Tomball, TX Target they have A BUNCH of stuff on clearance (like two end caps worth) at 30% off. Xbox, PS2, PSP, DS some X360.

Same story here, there's a massive 30% off sale on games at my local Target (31 and National Road, Indianapolis). Only one endcap, but they were clearing out pretty much everything that wasn't a GH title, but was more than a couple months old. The large majority were GBA and DS titles, including some decent stuff like Metroid Prime Hunters, Mega Man ZX, and Pokemon Ruby. (Most of them were Nickolodeon tie-ins, Harry Potter, and stuff like True Swing Golf though.) I'll check another area Target or two tonight to see if there's anything more interesting.

I went to my Target and they only had one of these left and it still rang up for $49.99. This is the second time someone in another Target got it for really cheap while mine stayed at normal price. :cry:

On another note, I saw 1 copy of Beatmania with the controller for $29.99 and bought it on impulse. Does anyone know if it's worth keeping?
 
I played a demo of it using the regular dual shock and it was fun. It gets challenging though, especially if you aren't a rhythm game master. So yeah, I'd keep it.

Now stores are allowed to limit it to a "reasonable family sized amount" of coupon usage. Blame the people who were going in and using 50 - 100 coupons at once.

It's just like the K-Mart battery deal, that got abused so bad by people on SD, they cancelled the offer (it's now a mail in rebate)

We used a total of 40 but did it in 2 groups of 20. Last week I went in to do our weekly grocery shopping (and check for CAG deals ;)) and I had about 20 jars of baby food in my cart. The cashier told me that others had come through with handfuls of coupons they got off Target.com and saved a bundle. I went home, googled it, and the rest is history...
 
No game deals at 3 different Targets in the Atlanta area. Still some toys on clearance.

I've seen several toys that were clearanced in the last few weeks that are on the lead paint toy recall list.

Off the top of my head, there were Dora and Diego toys as well as elmo toys that are both on the recall list and target's clearance. In fact, I've seen several of those toys in the last few days. Hopefully, this means that they are safe toys and that it is not an indication that these Targets have been negligent of removing the dangerous toys as requested by Mattell and Fisher Price.

Sorry to be offtopic, but I've seen several posts that people got toys during this round of clearances.
 
Went by one of my local Targets (Nashville) and noticed a lot of DS slots were empty and almost all GBA and Gamecube games were pulled. I went by one of the regular CS people and asked if they were about to clearance the Nintendo stuff and he said something was going to happen but couldn't tell me/didn't know when it was going to happen. Hopefully it will be on the same Monday schedule as other electronics, I don't feel like going by everyday.
 
As far as I know, the lead painted toys are safe as long you don't put them in your mouth. So anyone who bought toys for a not-toddler really shouldn't worry. But they can if they want!
 
I picked up a couple of those Coleco 10 game devices for $3.74 each. I figured what the hell, they were originally $29.99.

I was at my Target last night and it was almost completely empty. Usually I finds racks of crappy iPod accessories. I hope they're getting it ready for some new clearance games on Monday. The only thing sitting on the electronics clearance end cap was 2 copies of Circus Empire for the PC. I didn't look to see what the price was.

It was a coupon for $1 off any two Gerber baby food items. Saved a bundle on baby food with it. Sorry it's nothing CAG related. I haven't found anything good in the electronics section since picking up Gunpey, Viewtiful Joe, and Advance Wars for around $5 each (DS) this past holiday season.
 
does anyone know if Target has slow down on clearancing some toys and electronics? or is it still ongoing? coz my Target has been dry on clearance toys lately, since nothing on video games is picking up.
 
do your targets have a specific aisle for videogame clearance items? Is it near the videogame/electronics dept? All mine ever seems to have is an endcap of greatest hits/player's choice/platinum hits games.

My store has a specific endcap in the electronics section away from the video games where they usually put the clearance (see red tagged) video games. At least that's where I've found the heavily discounted games in the past.

Same. Though I have found PC games on clearance on a toy section endcap.

Many Targets put their videogames near the CDs and DVDs on an endcap, and this can be relatively far away from the videogames and actual electronics.

And sometimes, they'll move the location around. The Target closest to me nearly always puts the video and computer games on an endcap in the DVD area. But occasionally, they'll put them near the diapers and baby stuff, but still in the electronics area. Why? I have no idea.
 
Some stores just end up dumping the clearance merchandise in other places. In Supertargets sometime the games clearance end up on the back side of endcaps in books. Some of the old layouts seem to have the games/electronics clearance on the back side on school supplies. For the 2 stores I stop in at I always have to check the back of the books as well as the electronics area...

Whatever the electronics manager wants it, and where target tells them to put it. Sometimes they hide behind the glass cases if you cant find them around the near clearance endcaps. Often happens with the newer clearanced pc games.

^Books is considered electronics/entertainment, so check there too.
If theres lazy employs and you want to find everything possible, check other clearance sections, they just throw them together most the time.

CAN ANY ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF HIS TARGET STORE HAS WINNING ELEVEN 9, WINNING ELEVEN 8 OR 7, AND FIFA 2006. I will appreciate it very much if any one can sees these games on his target store for clearance.

My Target had Wii S-Video cables for $10, a few PSP kits at 25% off, some Wii cases at 25% off, and a 3-pack of GBA game cases that hold 3 games each (so holds 9 games total) for $3.50.

Picked up the GBA case. Sadly they only had 1.

I'm pretty sure my Target has some WE game but not on clearance. I'll keep my eye on it though.

Saw the same at my store today. I was hoping the clearance endcap would be full of games as well. All I found was a clearance alarm clock and several packs of DV-R discs with cases and those same two copies of Circus Empire.
 
Saw PS2 memory card 2-packs @ $33.xx on clearance today, as well as a bunch of third-party controllers including the rip-off sixaxis ones.

Lots of PSP accessories too.

Looks like electronics clerance just got a shot in the arm.
 
saw the same accessories on clearance today...only thing i am interested in is the arcade stick with the 3 arcade codes but i'll wait till it gets a little cheaper

Saw the same (Wii cables, PSP accessories, PS2 memory cards)

Also saw Sony PS3 component cables (14.98) and Sony PSP batteries (33.98) on clearance. I'll snag a battery when it gets a bit cheaper.

At the two stores I checked yesterday while on a shopping trip for a door mat (a necessity with the amount of rain and snow we get in Michigan), all of the stuff that had been pulled from the cases was relocated to the "value" games section, without any markdowns. :whistle2:(

My GameStop trip paid off, though, so it wasn't a complete loss. I also accomplished my goal and I found a door mat. :D

I saw the Sony brand component cables at the Target in Westminster Mall.

Saw the Mad Catz Gamecube memory cards on clearance today at Target in the Irvine Crossroads. Don't buy the Mad Catz cards. Whatever price it is, it's not worth it.
