Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase
coupon_birthday_toys.gif

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:
Saw the Mad Catz Gamecube memory cards on clearance today at Target in the Irvine Crossroads. Don't buy the Mad Catz cards. Whatever price it is, it's not worth it.
Everyone keeps saying this! But I don't get it, I NEVER had any problems with Mad Catz mem cards. The first one I ever got for my Cube is a Mad Catz and it works fine. And a few months ago I got a 251 that works fine also... Though I'm confused at why it included RE4 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat system saves on it. o_O; Apparantly it's supposed to or something. I even have a MC card for the PS1 that is still working fine after almost 10 years.Actually the only thing from MC that I've ever had a problem with are the analog sticks on the PS2 RetroCon [-troller] but that got fixed with a little WD-40.

I'm going to try and make a run through tomorrow night here in Irving, Texas and will see what we have here.

But, Chronis, that is the single best picture I've ever seen on the internet. I almost rolled out of my chair laughing when he held up "WILBON 08." That was one of the classic PTI moments. They should have reshown that one on ESPN Classic instead of ESPNEWS, because it was an instant classic.

WILBON 08!

If you never delete any saves and/or never use it on the Wii, you might be okay. My MadCatz GC Memory card seemed to work fine for a couple of years.

Then I decided to copy the saves to a Nintendo card, and delete the saves I wasn't using. I didn't get halfway through when I got the dreaded "Your card is corrupt" message. I lost tons of saves.

My guess is that it doesn't handle reorganizing space on the card correctly. They're big enough that you don't need to delete things very often, if at all. But I still look at them now as little time bombs, and the longer you own one, the more you stand to lose. Is it worth $5 to lose years of work?

:O But yet I've done both of those things. The 59 like I said was my first memory card, which I got only a few months after the GC was released. So since then it's been going through lots of deletions, copyings, movings, etc. No problems with the card, though I hate that F-Zero GX has copy protection and can't be moved from it. >_< Ugh. And as for the 251, i got that earlier this year, moved everything that could be moved from my 2 59s onto it, and it's been used on my Wii. So... I dunno. >_> Maybe I'm lucky?

my Target had the following:

XBLA Arcade Stic-$33.xx
PSP Isound system-$20.xx
Play N Charge Kit-$13.xx
Wii starter kits-$33.xx
360 Faceplates-$13.98
Gamecube Mem Card-$13.98
Ps2 Stands-$10.xx

Wow found a huge find today.

Digging through the endcap and what do I find Madden marked down to $4.XX. Damn if it was only 8 years ago when it was released. Yes it was madden 2000 for the PS...

That's a good deal for a new Madden! :p At least according to Wal-Mart's price. They have early 2000 PS1 sports games for $19.99.

I would say that overall Nintendo's QA and QC is much, much higher than MadCatz. MadCatz is bound to make some things that are good; they're just going to have a higher number that fail.

I've had some MadCatz controllers. Two were surprisingly good. One was just all around crap. And one was destined to break. You win some, you lose some. With MadCatz, you get a higher percentage of losers.

Having been burned with a MadCatz memory card, I would never use one again, though I can understand that since yours are working fine, you don't have a problem with it. But I would still recommend to people looking at the clearanced cards in Target to get a Nintendo card.

Back to Target:

PS3 Logitech Chillstream wired controllers $33.98 on clearance
All Sony brand PS3/PS2 cables (AV, S-Video, Component) $13.98 on clearance
Sony PS2 Dual Shock wired controllers on clearance
PSP and DS travel cases (metal) on clearance, usually in the locked cases

I haven't seen any console/handheld games on clearance.

I was just thinking the same thing last weekend. I used to find stuff on almost every trip I went. It's been a couple years since I had any real good finds.

Just bought the Sony PS3 component cables at full price (with 5% cashback at least) at CC a few weeks ago. Now I see it clearanced at $13.98 at the Target by work. Bad luck I guess.

Just a side note, the PSP Car Kit for $10.xx that was mentioned earlier is by Psyclone and includes a universal FM transmitter.

Of course it's not the best in the world and the volume is a tad weak, but I used it to hook up my mp3 player in the car and the sounds came through well with no static. A useable FM transmitter for $10 is not too bad.

Maybe I've been going to the wrong Target!

Tonight I checked out the Target in North Irving and they were had one endcap PACKED, PACKED I tell you, with games. Nothing else, no room for anything else. Rows and rows of games. :bouncy:

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus $9
Final Fantasy IV GBA $9
Wild Arms IV $9
Tourist Trophy $9
Pokemon Ruby $14

and at least 30 other titles were 50% off. It literally blew my mind. Some of the games were "Ed Ed and Eddy" type stuff, natch, but there were some real solid titles in there too. The endcap had so many games on it that it was spilling out onto the floor, same on the person who did the endcap I guess.

Go check ALL your local Targets soon!

Funny thing is that I check out the Target in South Irving almost 3 times a week and haven't seen anything in forever, but I went to the North Irving store to pick up Bridge to Terabitha on Blu-ray and some notebooks for school and find a endcap full of clearance games. :applause:

Last weekend, I visited some friends out of state and passed by a random Target (IN) that I've never been to during my long drive back to school.

Everything had 2 clearance stickers. 30%-off then 50%-off.

The game clearance is a DEFINITE YMMV so don't go to your Targets tomorrow expecting to see a $20 Okami and others. Since my trip to that Target, I've been to 4 other Targets and none of them had any games on clearance, just the cables, Tivoli radios, and accessories that everyone else is reporting.

I waited to post what I saw last weekend so that I could check out other Targets as I didn't want to get people's hopes up. But, today I figured I'd report what I found so that you can keep an eye out now that 2 Targets in different areas are confirmed to be clearancing out their old games.

P.S. That Target that I went to has no more $20 Okamis. I picked up all of their last stock and a bunch of other games in preparation for a trade list. ;) I also used a $10 off $100 coupon to help trim the costs down.

edit... I also saw a hoarder. I don't know if he was a CAG or not, but he was picking up multiples (we're talking like 5-6 copies) of DS and GBA games that are popular here on CAG. Ones that I saw in his basket were Rocket Slime, FFIV, Clubhouse Games, Metroid PH, and Castlevania. He completely tore up that endcap. When I first got there, the 6 shelves of games were all very neatly arranged like library books. The pic I took was after the hoarder had left.

No game clearances at two of the midtown ATL Targets, although one has moved a bunch of those games to an endcap. I price checked several and they rang up at regular price. There were a lot fewer on that endcap than last time when I first noticed the move so people are scooping them up at 19.99 which makes me doubt that a clearance like that will come anytime soon. At least they had several of the accessory items hitting clearance that has been previously reported since it seems like this area is usually behind on clearances.
I saw this set for 100.00 this week.
There were 2 sets of those and plenty of the Model Ones on clearance one day then the next they all were gone. Before they hit the 75% mark too damn't!

And that picture is almost exactly what it'll look like if you find the end cap.

Look in the whole store too, it was not hidden, but out of plain view over in the hygenics aisles.

Hopefully next week brings the always exciting 75% off to those games!

Scored a 360 Madcatz contoller today for $6.98. It had the clearance sticker for the controller skin on there, so it rang up as 20.98, but I was lucky to get a mgr that adjusted the price.

I was at Target today. No console games on clearance. Some accessories were though. Double pack of official PS2 memory cards for $33.98, but they were still on the security-locked rack holder thing. A Psyclone tilt controller for the PS2 I think was about $33.98 also. A Pysclone PSP car travel kit thing, forgot the price. Some kind of PSP sound system thingy that I also forgot the price. A few cases from a company starting with a D (why can't I remember these things!??!?) for handhelds systems, though it looked more based towards the DS than the PSP. It was $6.98. Nice little animal silhoutte on the corner. I woulda got one if I had a DS.

Then I trudged through the toy endcaps seeing if anything gaming was placed there, which happens once in a while. No clearences, but I did find 3 interesting plug n play games. One is a boxing game that gives you tiny little gloves, and a tiny N64 controller to play 17 other games. Another was a mini Golden Tee Golf arcade style board. I'll definitely keep an eye on those because I love the Golden Tee games at the arcades. And the last was the one that first caught my eye. It was completely boxed up with no clear plastic so I couldn't see inside. But it's a blantant ripoff of Guitar Hero with "10 of the best rock songs." I imagine it'd be great for anybody who has a kid that has asked them for Guitar Hero but know they won't play with it after a while.

Then I went off to the PC section. They still have Circus Empire for $13. They had The Apprentice: Los Angeles for.... I wanna say $7.98? And Total War: Eras for $33.98.

That's basically what I've found at my Target. That along with a couple of different 360 flaceplates (one was the "Woody" but I don't remember the price) and the PS3 AV, Component, and S-Video cables for $13.98 each.

I saw somebody playing one of those in Wal-Mart a few days ago, and I immediatley thought "wow, here we go with the Guitar Hero knockoffs."

I wish I could find a copy of okami for 20, but none of my targets have that in for a long time. Man, Target in my area has been really bad lately for clearance. It seems like once my Targets remodeled, the clearance stuff started drying up.

In addition to the same PS2 memory cards and PS3 third party controller as others have seen (at the same price too) I saw the 360 Arcade stick that comes with 3 games for $33.xx, and a third party play-n-charge kit for $11.xx. If both of those go half off that I *may* consider them. I could use another battery (that comes in the play-n-charge) but the cord is useless - I just use the MS quick charger.

Like others, too, my Target has the huge endcap full of games that OUGHT to be on clearance but aren't ;).

Note that Okami is on clearance at TRU I think. I saw at least 10 of them at mine today (not marked as on clearance of course). I already have it and have yet to play it, so I was dismayed to see it on clearance ;).

Heh... it always sucks when you buy a game, don't play it, then see it later so much cheaper than what you got it for.

Also, I forgot to add. My Target also had some third party component cables on clearance, though I think they were for the PS2.

I just visited a Target in the boonies and found the biggest clearance I've ever seen. Basically every PS2/XBX/GBA/GC game and alot of DS and 360 games were all on 75% clearance.
Here are some of the gems I bought.

360
King Kong 4.99
Dynasty Warriors Empires 5 9.99
Quake 4 7.48

PS2
Okami 9.99
Dance Factory 7.48
Dirge of Cerberus 4.99
DDR Extreme 2 9.99
DDR Extreme 2 Bundle 14.99

GC
Pokemon Gale 7.48

DS
Metroid Hunters 7.48
Rocket Slime 7.48
Megaman ZX 7.48
Star Fox Command 7.48

PSP
Metal Gear Acid 2 2.48
Untol Legends 2 4.99

There were tons more that I haven't listed. I only hit this one store, but it's definitely worth checking out at yours. From the stickers I saw, the clearance appears to have started at 50. For those in the Western PA area, this was the Beaver Valley Target. There was still alot left too.

I think someone reported a similar clearance last week in the Target clearance thread. I forgot to hit up my Target today to see the new clearance items, I probably should go sometime.

i wouldn't get too excited.......i think it's still YMMV, although if more stores are starting this it could be a good sign that it is spreading? i've visited a few stores over the past week (1 today) and didn't notice anything except for the PS2/PSP/PS3 accessory clearance......

I just went and checked out my local Target and they have all those games listed but not as a clearence item, The Guy that worked there told me that game clearances always occur on mondays and usually the start of the month.

But since its a holiday today they didn't mark the clearances down because of some reason that people may not be looking/buying/shopping on a holiday like today ?! oh well he said to check tommorrow. :)
