Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I checked for the last two weeks at my local Target (West Des Moines - Jordan Creek, the only one in the area that has it) and Def Jam ICON for PS3 is coming up at 29.99 NOT 4.98
 
A while back I picked up Kane & Lynch for the PC for $7.48, and last week I picked up Universe at War for the PC for $14.96

Yeah i did the same, im really starting to get back into pc gaming. It is expensive to get into ($350 Graphics card), but once you are there it is incredibly cheap to play the latest games. Also you can truely make a timeless collection on the pc, not worrying about things like backwards compatibility and obsolete consoles. dual boot anybody.

Haha... That reminds me of a time last year when I was picking up F.E.A.R. at a Meijer up here at school. I was paying for it and I seen a kid behind me in line that was also picking it up too. I got my bag and was off to the side and getting ready to leave and this middle-aged cashier at the photo counter who rang me up asked if she could use my license again to swipe so that this 14 year old kid could buy the game too.:applause:
 
snagged a Shadow Of The Colossus non-ph for ~$10 and the Jericho i attempted to buy last week for ~$12.50. Used the 5 dollar coupon cause i picked up a few other things. i, like other cag's, am keeping an eye for one more drop of simpson's and party animals.

Well, Looks like there's a new sheriff in town...

A lot of us aren't listing locations specifically because when we list the location, it then gets raped by lurking SD/FW douchebags. Figured you'd know that, being a mod and all...And a lot of people don't read the trading threads.

Obviously, I'm not a mod, but Spooge and IO seem to have this one on lock, and it runs fairly smooth...why not just leave well enough alone?

I don't mind listing so I can be helpful to fellow deal seekers in my area..but when I see something I want, I pick up 1 copy and make sure there is enough left over for anyone who wants them. I also think try to remember if any CAG's were looking for something in particular and keep them in mind when I pick stuff up if I see it, get it for them so a deal can be worked out.

If you look at the lead post of the thread, or better yet from the original target clearance thread from 2003. Location helps with pinpointing spread and trends if you pay close attention. As for the SD/FW'ers - they've do the same thing across the entire store, it's natural competition for the deals, if they don't find it at their homes or here, they'll come across it. There's other communities dedicated to Target Clearance as well.

As for being the "new sheriff", I'm pretty much the oldest target clearancer around these parts (look at the original thread), I just come and get things back in order when they start getting well out of hand.

Best bets are to have a store that doesn't sticker properly, but over the past 5 years, most stores have dramatically improved on stickering on mondays, as well as stickering all clearance merchandise. 5 years ago, there would be games that had gone on clearance, that were still in the case and labeled at $50, but now with the churn of titles, and pre-sales, the methods Target Corporate use to stock titles, have all greatly effected how clearance has operated.
 
I do, to an extent...then again, I'm sitting here with 3 copies of Final Fantasy XII left after people backed out of the deals. It's just that with all the SD/FW infiltration over the past 8 or so months, a lot of CAGs have decided to stop posting specific locations... Since Target is a bit more universal in their pricing, than, say Kmart locations have been, I'm sure it's less likely to get cleaned out across the entire town.

The new sheriff part was in jest, as you've obviously been around for quite a while, I just disagree that it's out of hand. Not trying to be disrespectful, if it came off that way.

Besides...I'm a fellow Arsenal fan.
 
Indy CAGs waiting to get Stranglehold (360 - non-LE) for cheap might want to keep an eye on the US31 Target. Right now they're tagged at $24.98, but there's about 30 copies there stacked at the normal spot.
 
Picked up Rainbow Six Vegas for the 360 at the Garner Target (Garner, NC). Only copy on the shelf. Now to wait on PGR4...

Truer words have not been spoken recently on these threads and this is the reason I no longer even hint at where I'm getting deals from. I just wish the other CAGs in my area were as secretive as I am about which stores I'm slowly picking clean of anything I want, before letting the whole internet know where we're finding this stuff.

That's the important thing. The last few times people leaked things about the area (there aren't many CAGs down over here although they are further north) SD/FW were on it in a heartbeat. It was an absolute massacre. If you weren't there in the store with them at opening then you weren't going to find anything at all.

Wait, is Supernova 2 on some sort of clearance?. I looked back and see nothing. How much? All I see is DDR Supernova for PS2 in the OP for $9.98. Is that all it is?
 
Maybe a selected PM list would be good. Say you have to be a CAG for a certain time, 'cause I'd like to get in on a few deals, but don't wanna drive around town hunting them down.
 
Just a heads up.... While I was in Target today, I saw a shelf tag for Pinball Hall of Fame for Wii for *$13.99* Unfotunately the shelf was empty, so I can't say if this is correct, a mismark, a pricing mistake at a higher level, etc. I know this isn't clearance, but I hesitate to make a new thread since i can't really confirm this. I figured some of you might want to keep an eye out, though.

No new drops here... Crackdown, Stranglehold, and PGR 4 are all still $29.98 :( Also saw Viva Pinata Party Animals for $14.98.

I also think my Target has finally realized Crackdown is on clearance *curses*. I was counting on them passing it over, so it would still be there when it hit 14.98 :p

I got a warning for posting about Supernova being on clearance and the fact I picked up an extra for trade. Is it really that big of a deal to mention it in this thread? The fact that I found Supernova for PS2 on clearance in Target and I mentioned that I had it for trade- apparently it's the wrong thread (even though there is no explicit indication that someone decided to create a Target trade thread).

What is with the Nazi system of controlling posts about the same thing- the fact that you're forced to separate a deal from a deal-swap? When there's a giant clearance sale at CC or TRU every few months, I see plenty of people offering to pick up extra copies to trade for games they can't find in their area. All the information about the sale is easily accessible, and after a few days it doesn't change.

Everyone keeps posting about finding X or Y and that's great, but I post that I found Z with an extra copy to trade and all of a sudden I get a warning from Big Dirty? It seems more like this thread has become a Bragging Rights thread and less of a CAG-help-CAG thread.

So I want to reiterate:

To me the "trade" posts in clearance threads that should get demerits are the ones where "Can anyone get me XXXXX" or "I picked up XXXXX for sale, $$$ Shipped" is all that is posted. Basically the ones that would have been deleted under the old regime, though that may have varied depending on who is moderating thread. I guess they may think that any post that mentions trading/selling could breed more trading/selling posts.
 
Pickup Dead head (PSP) $8. Also, The Simpson Movie (360) $24.97, Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi (PS2) $5, Avatar: Burning Earth (360) $13. My local Target have tons The Simpson Movie (360) version.... I'll get it whenever it drop down $15-ish.
 
Stopped by Target and sadly it seems Stranglehold and Simpsons 360 are both still $30 and $25, respectively. Have they gone down to the next level at anyone's stores yet? I'm waiting for that next drop before I buy them.

Regardless if CAG's choose to mention specific locations hoarders/ebayers/FW's/SD's/ and anyone else looking to make a profit will be lurking at a retailer to snatch up clearance titles. If they had the time they could also see if a specific member has posted in the "Regional" threads here and put 2 & 2 together. I also find it ironic that alot of us here are quick to place blame on other forum members and never think that our own are doing the hoarding. From my experiences here the community usually helps its own, but just like other sites there are hoarders among us here as well. If you want a clearance title that bad buy it at the first drop or hide it for future drops. I stash games here and there and don't care if members here think it is "stealing". I've experienced enough BS from Target employees along with their hoarding a variety of things that I don't care if the game I stashed throws off their inventory count.

Post it in your tradelist or in the Target Clearance Trade thread, which has been in existence for a year, and has been mentioned countless times. That's what it's there for. You especially. Well, there is the regional deals forums that I doubt many lurkers pay attention to in order to communicate to your local CAG's.. but I do agree that SD and FW lurk and hoard. However.. if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. I have a relative that is a manager at the local Target. When I stopped by, I bought one NG:S and 1 Folklore. I let a friend of mine know, and he picked up one of each. If I had the money, I would've picked a few up for trades here (I need to get back into trading on here anyways). The next day.. someone went straight to the endcap with a buggy, and cleaned it all out. Likely for flipping or resale.

Now the ethical arguments of hoarding kind of belong on the Vs. forum.. but with the userbase and popularity of CAG, you have to react fast to some of these things. Plus, in our economic climate.. more people are going to spend their money on cheaper games as opposed to full MSRP.

Hell, there used to be two local users that I would PM deals at local Targets, CC, BB, etc. (Munch and Argyle). So hey.. get in touch with your community CAG's, and band together. Get someone to hide you a copy of Ninja Gaiden behind the tampons in Target, and pick it up later. There are ways to beat the FW mulletshoppers, and brokering information at the same time. If we start withholding deal postings for the sakes of greed, then what the hell is the point of a game deals internet forum? In respects to this particular thread, it's pretty important to post local prices.. as clearance schedules are usually regional. Help a fellow brotha save some gas instead of showing up to find a mediocre game is still $29.99!

Ok.. enough of that. Anyone else seen Heavenly Sword drop? I have a feeling that it was either a very YMMV/Open box as is sort of deal, or the poster was very freaking lucky. I'll post what I find at my store when I get a chance later in the week.

Yes my local target has TONS of Halo 3 Halo Clix.. they are also behind in 2-3 drops in the games.. My Empire Earth 3 and Quake Wars are both 30 and 27.xx still :(
