Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

It was a horrid game, which I only grabbed because I wanted to use up my credit I had at my local Blockbuster that takes trades.

Folklore is pretty much gone. Most of the stores around me ran out of it before the clearance. During the clearance, the store that had the most sold 3 out of 4 of them at the $30 price. I don't know if the last one went for $30 or $15.

Someone here told me of a local Target that had them for $15, but they were gone by the next day. I have not seen a $15 Folklore and I doubt I will.

I've given up finding a $15 Folklore at Target. Right now, I'm waiting/hoping for a good GameStop coupon,

I made a quick run to Target last night to pick up a power cord extenion. I am glad I did. When I went to go check the price on Shadow of the Colossus, they were all gone. :shock:

Luckily, the one I hid was still there and it scanned at $4.98. Thursday it had still been at $13.98.

Rayman Ravin Rabbids still scanned at regular price but they had alot of them.

$30 is a great price for The Orange Box. At its release, only Team Fortress 2 was horrible, Halflife 2 ran perfectly as well as Portal, and Episode 1 and 2 ran very well most of the time with a few big slowdowns here and there. Just a few weeks ago though, a patch was released fixing all of these problems making the game 100% playable and worth owning. If you can find this game for $30 or even $40, it is a must own.

I was so temped to go to wally world and return it......its 60 bucks there still, but for some odd reason I really wanted this game and havent found any awsome deals before likes this so i i ripped it open lol and kept it!!! It was the target in frederick MD, It rang up 29.99, but had the red tag on it for 9.98, so it was price adjusted!!!!!! The most local target doesn't have Stranglehold in stock, though doing the check on the item # it is priced at $14.98; however at the 2nd closest Target it is still $45.XX. Any thoughts?

Yeah, it's been mentioned around here that this is supposed to be policy, but it's a store policy that is rarely followed. I've been sold many clearance items that were out of the system at Target, and not just video games. In the past they've just looked up the last price on one of the price-checker guns and sold it to me for that amount. Other people report that frequently happening here on the forum, too.

I'm not sure that would work. If you buy at $45 from one Target, and return to one that used to have them at $15, they will either give you the amount they sell it for, so, $15. Or, if it's out of the system, refuse to take it back. However, I assume you'd have the receipt, so they might give the right amount since it's on the paper, and I know you can return stuff bought from different Targets. I honestly don't know which route they'l take. Though, you can always return to the original if it doesn't work for a full refund. You'd only lose time.

For $130 down from $190 I saw a limited edition red Zune 30gb, the original one.

I am torn. I bought NGS for 29.98. I don't know if I should risk return/rebuying it. I was told an employee has to reshelve the game in order to rebuy it. It is in the system for $14.xx. I have hit 6 targets and this is the only copy in the area. Should I be happy with it for $30 or roll the dice?

BTW: My target has a number of viva pinatias in the case that are not marked as clearance, but do ring up on clearance, so check those cases people!

I would have the receipt, so they would give the price on the receipt. They could decide not to sell it to me though; however if I say I'm returning it because I want to repurchase using my 10% off coupon (target card reward) it might work (I think). Using that reason/excuse as a catalyst I believe I could have a >50% chance of success. If I am going to do that though, today would be my greatest chance of success since it is possible the sku could be wiped from the low-priced target come Monday (clearance pricing update) since there are no more Strangleholds on hand.

I'm in sort of the same spot; I broke down and bought F1 Championship for the PS3 for $24.98 ($29.98-$5 coupon). I really wanted the game and have never seen it on sale, but feel like it's due to drop to $14.98 as it has at many Targets.. but I also assumed I'd kick myself if they sold out before dropping to $14.98. (They had 2 copies, now 1, which I stashed to hopefully keep it from selling out before being dropped)

I'm keeping the game sealed today and will go back tomorrow to scan the other copy to see if it went to $14.98..

If you buy a game and the price goes down, can you not get the difference withing a certain amount of time? I've never tried it with clearance stuff, but that's usually the policy with normal price drops.

Secondly, If you really want a game then don't worry so much about the ing deal and just play it. Who cares if you bought NGS for $30 or $60? I bought it for $60 when it came out and I'm not the least bit sorry about it.

I hate to seem the cranky old man on here, but why stress over so little money? I see people on here hiding games and scheming just to try to get a game for $7.50 instead of $15. Just buy the ing game already and play it.

I agree to a point. The difference between 10 and 7.50 is negligible, but then again, this is CAG. The price of gas alone, going to the store and hiding a game behind some others, and then going back again and again to see if it's dropped is reason alone to just snag a game at a decent price point.

For games I'm not crazy for but want to play, I'll wait for a drop. But if it's $15 or so I'll snag it. I won't wait for it to drop to 7.50. My time is money too, and running back to the store over and over to see if it's dropped isn't worth 7.50.

I feel the same way but you will notice lately around here these people are focused on paying as little as possible to make as much of a profit as possible.. taking games they paid $14 for and charging people $25 plus crying about paypal,shipping, and gas prices.... why should people have to pay you gas mileage when your greedy little arse knew right along you were going to drive all over to hoard copies up?...

It is the new nature of the beast on this site. Just have to try and ignore it as much as possible because it's not going anywhere.

Look this is CAG. So if people want to hide games it's their business. I'm not talking about hoarders or ebayers, they are all evil. I think most CAGS that hide games are just trying to get games that they are on the fence about for as low as possible. Some on this site are also collectors.

I hid and ended up buying a copy of Shadow of the Colossus. Did I go every day to check on a price drop? No. I have a family so I usually got to Target every week (diapers, formula, cheerios, etc..). I happened to be there and would check for a price drop. Can I afford to buy SotC for $20. Of course I can but I was trying to get the lowest price possible just for the heck of it. If there is a game that I really want, I will buy it, even MSRP.

I'm sure that there are some on this site who wait for a price drop and end up wasting gas and time for it but to each his own.

Hiding games behind others? Basically, the same concept as trying to hide something in an aisle that it doesn't belong in. That DOES NOT WORK at Kmart. In fact, it just pisses me off because I have to load all that crap in a cart and take it back to where it belongs. (I know this is the target thread but i just needed to vent)

And those same people are also denying others the opportunity to purchase the game at the current price if the game is removed from its normal stock location and hidden in a different part of the store. IMO, the only acceptable hiding method is placing the game behind other games. When you hide it amongst non-game items or within something, you're being selfish and thinking only of yourself. And let's not forget that you're making it more difficult for the store to sell the item at the current price. But, hey, all you care about is getting the game for as little $$$ out of your pocket as necessay; screw everyone else, right?
